REPORT INNOVATION

1.0 WHAT IS THE INVENTION ABOUT?
Product: Truck planter
Main idea: Decoration as well as a vase for plants
2.0 WHAT IS OBJECTIVE OF THE INVENTION?
Objectives:

i. To illustrate the making of truck planter
ii. To create truck planter from recycle materials.
iii. To describe the importance and the usefulness of truck planter.
3.0 WHAT IS ITS USE FOR?
The use:
This truck planter is use for accessories as well for indoor plantation. With our truck planter
we are planting ‘Aglaonema Plant’ in the back of the truck.
4.0 WHAT ARE THE COMPONENTS/ELEMENTS/PHASES INVOLVED IN THIS
INVENTION?
4.1 The Process
Behaviour of preparation:
All member of our group is given five days to brainstorm ideas starting from the innovation
task is given. Next, using Google Meet we present all of our ideas and pick the best innovation
idea.
Incubation:
One member of the group which is Farra, saw her brother’s old Jenga blocks toy is a storage
box and decided to use it instead of using cupboard box as recycle material to make the truck
planter.
Insight:
 Determine the design of truck planter. We as group determine the number, size and

placing of the Jenga blocks to make a truck.

 Picking the right colour for our Jenga truck. We decided to use spray paint in the colour
sparkling gold for the body of the truck and silver chrome for the interior of the truck

 Determine decoration on the truck. We agreed to use crystal sticker for the lights on the
truck planter.

 Draw a sketch of the truck planter for reference when we make the truck.
Evaluation:

 We need to let the glue and spray paint sit overnight to avoid the Jenga blocks to break
and to avoid uneven colour on the truck.

 The truck must be two layer of spray paint in order to gain vibrant colour.
 We have to use tape instead of glue to attach tyre onto the truck because the tape is

stronger.
Elaboration:

 This invention can help people who wants to plant to save money by making their own
vase rather than buying a new one.

 This invention is versatile because it also can hold other thing than plants in the back
of the truck. For example, we can put stationary.

 This invention can also be a decoration. For example, it can be a desk decoration.
Communication:

 Communication with group members happened when we used Google Meet and
WhatsApp to communicate and discuss about the task given.

 Communication between the lecture happened when we ask about the task to our
lecture, Dr. Khairiah Mohd Yassin.

 Communication with our classmate happened when question and answer session after
presentation about our innovation work.

4.3 The Phases

STEP 1 - Draw a sketch of the truck planter

BACK OF THE TRUCK:

STEP 2 - Arrange and glue 12 pieces of blocks together like figure 1

STEP 3 - Combine the pieces of blocks in figure 1 until a box figure is formed in figure 3

ROOF OF THE TRUCK:

STEP 4 - Add 3 pieces of the blocks each sides like figure 4

STEP 5 - Add 1 piece of block on top of each sides and 2 pieces more on top of it like figure 5

STEP 6 - Add 6 pieces of blocks on top to form a roof of the truck

STEP 7 - Arrange 6 pieces of blocks horizontally and glue them like figure 7

STEP 8 - Then glue 2 pieces of blocks on top of it like figure 8

STEP 9 - To form lower base of the truck add 6 pieces more like figure 9

STEP 10 - Glue 3 pieces on each sides vertically like figure 10

STEP 11 - Then add 9 pieces more to cover the front part of the truck like figure 11

STEP 15 - Attach the tyres to the wood sticks with tape like figure 16

5.0 WHAT IS THE BENEFIT/CONTRIBUTIONS OF THIS INVENTION?
Benefits:

i. Encourages people to plant more succulent
ii. Environmental friendly because it is made from reuse materials
iii. It can save money, rather than buying new plant organizer we can made it ourselves
iv. It can be use as decoration

7.0 CONCLUSION
To conclude overall about our Innovation project which is truck planter, the idea came when
we see how the world is suffering from environment problems so we decided to make
something that is environmental friendly so that we can encourage other people by taking small
steps such as reuse items to make new item. One of our team member, Aishah loves planting
so the truck planter idea is all came from her, from there we as a team expend her idea make a
perfect truck planter for our group project.

We worked together and were passionate in the making of our invention to make it as
successful as possible. This can be seen when we make a group discussion for 5 times just to
make sure that we reach the perfect size, colour and details for our Truck planter not to mention
non-stop discussion on our WhatsApp group. Next we also rechecked the report so that we
completed all the Innovation task requirements to satisfy our beloved Critical Thinking
lecturer, Dr. Khairiah Mohd Yassin.

Overall, if we look back at the objectives and benefits as stated above, our invention
project that we implemented clearly has many benefits to environment and the society
especially the ones who loves planting. We hope that our invention can make a change to open
society’s mind to help our earth by recycle and reuse. Lastly, it is obvious that we can invent
anything out of something if we put our mind and time into it.
