hi! HEDIA SOFIE TAZELLI

BA/HONS INTERIOR DESIGN AND ARCHITECTURE

ABOUT ME

PHILOSOPHIES AND INSPIRATION

Inspiration comes very much from my own experiences of life, surrounding and people.
My artistic background demands originality and imagination. Searching for a sincere
and honest interpretation of my visual ambitions and approaches is always being app-
lied when designing and translated into usable products. My work should always be a
complete reflection of myself, but also a collection that focuses on emotion and motion,
showcasing the main essence of the future of social design alternatives.
Interior Architecture and a sense of atmosphere is always the leading tool in my work. I
always self-analyse through architecture, materiality and new impressions, emotions and
aesthetics that repeatedly occur within my philosophies. It is always the main essence
of future spaces that I create.

WHY IS THIS NEEDED?

Millennials are now facing relocation and huge reduc-
tions of education space in the region of the capital and
other major cities in Denmark.
The University of Copenhagen will close almost 1,600
study places, where the creative and humanistic subjects
will be affected the hardest. (KU Ny- heder, 2021)

WHAT IF QUESTIONS

What if a space kept your dream alive
What if a space helped shape your future
in design
What if a space increased your passion

05 UNITE DESIGN FOUNDATION

THE BRIEF Since the waiting periods to be ad-
mitted to university in Denmark can
BECOMING A DESIGNER take multiple years due to the cuts,
IN DENMARK I have visions of creating a founda-
tion ( a school ) where young driven
people who did not qualify can ma-
intain their passion for the creative
subjects. A work experience tought
by selected proffesional danish de-
signers.

This school is targeting design pro-
fessions, such as illustrators, interior
designers, fashion designers, grap-
hic designers, product designers and
should function as a design hotspot.

Those who dream of a life as a desig-
ner, now get the chance to still set
foot in the industry, at this prepa-
ratory design school that keeps the
passions for design alive and gives
everyone necessary and practical
skills, wiht a big lead and advanta-
ge to enter the universities or dive
directly into the industry.

WOOD AND ARCHITECTURE IN TUNE
The building is supported by structural timber beams, and is well
known for that feature. When reconstructions took place, they
choose to keep all the internal beams structures, as it is a clear
identity to the building and its old history.

The building does have a very specific design language. The exteri-
or takes you back to old Copenhagen, before it got modernized. It
has an even more specific language, then just old Copenhagen, as
Nyhavn for it self, had its own identity with the bright colored buil-
dings and wood structures. Many of the buildings in Nyhavn was
used as warehouses.

The buildings interior and exterior has a great industrial apperan-
ce, with its timber beams, color combinations and mateirals. This is
very suitable for my design concept.
