CLIENT VISIT TO SH PEKAN SALAK

On 22nd April 2021, there was a site visit at SH Pekan Salak from Shell and Meinhardt team

which was led by Mr Kon Mook Yon and Mr. Sam Liew. The agenda for the visit are to

check on the site condition due to the site is nearly completion and discuss on the pending

matters from the last

discussion. During the

visit, a team from Shell

Haulier has been invited

to oversee the site

condition specifically on

the tanker delivery path to

ensure smooth

operational during the

commissioning.

At the end of the session,

the client really hope that

this site will safely

completed and open to

public as per planned.

CBRE SUPPLIER BUSINESS REVIEW MEETING

An engagement session between CBRE and PCA on Supplier Business Review &
Performance Meeting was held on 6th April 2021 virtually via Microsoft Teams platform.
During this session, PCA has presented on the Quarter 1 performance with regards to the
operational and HSSE. PCA also took this opportunity to present on our capabilities in
delivering future project in terms of competencies, quality, resources, compliances as well
as discussed on the gaps & challenges while project execution.

WORKERS WELFARE REQUIREMENT

PCA Leadership has taking part in a session
on Workers Welfare Requirement which was
virtually organized by Meinhardt on 23rd April
2021 via Microsoft Teams platform.

The main objective of this session is to brief
on the requirements which will be
incorporated within Shell Group Control
Framework 2022 onwards as well as
compliance with local Employees’ Minimum
Standards Of Housing, Accommodations
And Amenities Act 1990.

End of the session, all PCC are required to
complete on the checklist given based on
what we have arranged and provided to the
workers as substandard worker conditions
can lead to poor business outcomes and
potential for reputational damage.

PERMIT ISSUER TRAINING

On 2nd April 2021, a Permit Issuer Training under Meinhardt has been conducted virtually
through Skype platform and led by En. Mohd Ghaus Hashim. PCA has sent representatives
for the training in order to accredit them to be a Permit Issuer under Shell program after
completely having 2 years of experience in this program which is a pre-requirement to be a
Permit Issuer.

CHEMICAL SAFETY – INTERNAL AWARENESS BRIEFING

In order to enhance awareness and equip
the site team with knowledge related to
HSSE, PCA has conducted an internal
awareness briefing on chemical safety
which was conducted at SH Pekan Salak
on 22nd April 2021.
This session has been conducted by PCA
HSSE Team with supported by Permit
Holder on site, En. Mohd Adilef.
During this session, all site personnel has
been briefed on the chemical safety, what
PPE they should wear during handling with
chemical, action to be taken should there
is any incident in relation with chemical
spill, what is the Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
and the correct way how to store the
chemicals at site.

WORKING AT HEIGHT TRAINING

Working at Height (WAH) training
organized by LCSC which was
conducted at Kinrara Golf Club on
12th & 13th Aprill 2021.
The newly introduced training
whereby the modules are developed
align with Shell requirement and was
carried out by the LCSC committee
members is seen benefited to all
frontliners which engaging with
working at height activity at site.
The 1.5 days program consist of
theory and practical session whereby
at the end of the session, assessment
has been done to gauge the
understanding of the participants.

FALL PROTECTION WEBINAR

To enhance a knowledge on working
at height, a Fall Protection Webinar :
Choose and Wear the Right Body
Harness for You hosted by 3M has
been conducted on 27th April 2021.
PCA took the opportunity to join the
session which was given by Mr. Palani
Chockalingam, a Consultant for Fall
Protection.
At the end of the session, all
participants are able to identify the
hierarchy of fall protections, classes of
full body harness, fall arrest system,
essential components of personnel fall
arrest system and additional
information during selection of fall
arrest system.

GOTONG ROYONG DENAI SUNGAI KEBANGSAAN

In conjunction with Earth Day 2021 which is celebrated annually on 22nd April, PCA has

received an invitation from Department of Environment (DOE) Negeri Sembilan to take part

in ‘Gotong Royong Denai Sungai Kebangsaan’ program which was held on 1st April 2021 at

Kampung Batang Benar, Nilai Negeri Sembilan.

PCA has sent a representatives from HSE committee members to support and enliven the

program. Most organizations in the state of Negeri Sembilan has come and join to support

the program organized

by DOE. This program

is a community based

and hands-on which

aims to raise

awareness and

mobilize community

members in river

conservation and

preservation activities

& environmental

sustainability.

PCA TREE PLANTING PROGRAM

In commemorating 22nd April annually
as an Earth Day with this year theme
of ‘Restore Our Earth’, PCA has
organized a Tree Planting program
which was conducted on 5th April
2021 at PCA factory, Nilai.
This program is in conjunction with
campaign initiated by Department of
Environment (DOE) Negeri Sembilan
which encourage all organizations to
plant a tree at their own premise.
The tree planting activity is a part of
the 100 Million Tree-Planting
Campaign 2020-2025, kicked off by
our Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin
Yassin on 5th January 2021 to ensure
the success of the Greening Malaysia
agenda.

FORUM WORLD OSH DAY 2021

28th April is the day provides an opportunity to reflect on how to prevent work-related
occupational diseases, deaths, injuries, and illnesses. It is also a day to remember those
that have died from a work-related injury or illness. An opportunity to acknowledge and
celebrate the crucial contribution that health & safety teams make in the workplace. The
World Day for Safety & Health at Work theme for 2021 as set by the International Labour
Organization (ILO) is Anticipate, prepare and respond to crises and invest now in resilient
OHS systems.
PCA has taking part in the “Forum Bual Bicara Sempena Sambutan World OSH Day 2021”
organized virtually by DOSH Malaysia through Facebook and Youtube platform with the title
“Labur Sekarang Di Dalam Sistem KKP Yang Berdaya Tahan”

SOAL JAWAB VAKSIN COVID-19 KEPADA PEKERJA

Vaccines are one of the methods for us to curb this pandemic and one of the best ways to
protect our society from COVID-19. Since the beginning of the pandemic, various efforts have
been carried out globally to develop COVID-19 vaccines. The COVID-19 vaccine stimulates
the immune system so that in the instance of exposure to SARSCoV- 2 (severe acute
respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2), our body would be able to react against the COVID-19
infection. On 30th April 2021, PCA representatives has joined the free webinar on “Soal Jawab
Vaksin Covid-19 Kepada Pekerja” which was organized by Malaysian Society for
Occupational, Safety & Health (MSOSH).
