Charity work

Charity work makes people’s
lives better. For example:
„Svratiste za decu“ is dealing with
the poorest and the most
indangered families. Kids who have
families but are very poor come to
„Svratiste“. Kids spend a part of
the day in there. They don’t sleep
there. There are a lot of menagers
in „Svratiste“ who were
volunteers. Volunteering makes us
learn some things that are usefull
in life. Trust me, when you make
someone feel good because of your donation or your voulonteering, you’ll feel really good. „Svratiste za
decu“ gives children care that every child has. It is made to look like a home, so that the children would
feel like they are in another home.

Remember, charity work is very important and valuable for others and for yourself.

Translated by: Anđelka Kovačević, VIII

Humanitarni rad

Humanitarni rad poboljšava život drugih. Na primer „Svratište za
decu“ se bavi najsiromašnijim i najugroženijim članovima

porodice.
sami ranije bili volonteri.

sportistom

- Zašto si se upisala na džudo?
- Na džudo sam otišla sa znatiželjom. Šta je to? Na prvi trening

otišla sam sa tatom da gledam. Jako mi se svideo i mislila sam
da je to sport za mene. Tako sam počela sa treniranjem.
- Zašto voliš taj sport?

- Džudo je jedan divan sport. Volim da ga treniram. Svaki trening

mala. Kako su prolazili treninzi, sve više i više shvatala sam
ozbiljnost i tog sporta.

- Da li bi se ispisala?
- Nikada mi nije ta misao prolazila kroz glavu.

trenirala.

- Koliko medalja i trofeja do sada imaš?

pobedio ili izgubio, ispoštujemo protivnika, pružimo ruku i čestitamo.

Interview with the best sports girl

- Why did you start judo?
- I was curious about judo. What is it, I thought? My first practise I went with my Dad to watch. I liked it very much,

and I thought it was a sport for me. This is how I began to practise.
- Why do you like this sport?

- Judo is a wonderful sport. I love to practise. Every training is a new experience.
- Did you start judo just to have fun?

- At the beginning I thought that every sport is just for fu, because I was little. As the days passed by , I realized the
seriousness of the sport.

- Would you ever quit?
- I have never thought of that. I never think that. I would like to continue and to pass my experience to other

generations.
- Do you like some other sports?
- I do, but not like I love judo. I like to watch, but I do not know if I would practise any other.
- How many medals and trophies have you got?
- There are many, I do not count them. Every medal that is won has its own place and every

medal has its own memory.
- What could you tell us about the sport you practise.
- Judo is a martial art that helps you develop, and at the same time at self-defence. In this
sport you meet friends for life, all over the world. It teaches you respect, and how to be
human. After every fight, regardless you win or loose, we respect our oponent, and shake

hands.

Our school’s past

Primary School „Aleksa Šantić“ was founded in 1921.
There used to be a furnace in every classroom, which was used to keep the students warm, and today we have central
heating. The windows have been changed. There used to be only one part of school with classrooms, and now there
is a new part with the gym and new classrooms. There used to be only ordinary boards in the classrooms and now

we have a smartboard and computers.
We have new students and teachers, as well.

MOJ ČAS – MY LESSON

Biologija

menjao.

Biology

We interviewed two students from the eighth grade about the classes of
Biology.

Teodora: It is not difficult for me in the classes of Biology. The best
classes are when we study something new. We learn about the living world

around us. The teacher is good and gives us good explanations. The
questions she asks depend on the lessons and themes we have done previously.

Lazar: I agree with Teodora. It is very interesting in the classes of Biology when we study new
things. I wouldn’t change anything.

Nature

Nature is our great wealth. Forests, rivers and gardens are all around us. They
give us clean water, air and food. What do we give back?

Forests and rivers are full of plastic bottles and bags. Rivers are dirty. Fish and
bees cannot live in such surroundings. We should stop polluting our nature. We
must not break, throw rubbish. We should plant young trees, take care of parks
in our surroundings. If we learn how to protect nature, it will give us much more

clean air, water and healthy food.

ANCIENT EGYPT - The Earth comes out of water

Before great ancient heat, the people come down to the delta to saw weat. The job should be done quickly. It is the middle
of October, like every year the great river has just moved back. The full four months the valley was under water. It is still
wet, and mud can be easily worked. But in a few days time the ground will dry, and it will become hard to work. People

work together. They need to work quickly. When the time comes for wheat to ripe, the lords measure the corn. They leave
a part for them, and give a part to pharaoh’s officers and priests in the temples. The first measures are given to Gods. One

must not hide the wheat, or they would be punished.

Rhinos

Rhinos are animals that live only in the grounds of Asia and Africa. There are several species of Rhinos, to
be presise 5. All the species of rhinos eat only plants, and that depends on the area they live. Their noses
are different as well, which proves how they adapted to the surroundings. They are also different for the size and number

of horns they have.
