The logo of the Washington Institute
is in keeping with all that the Institute
represents. Immediately eye catching
is the overall “W” design, standing for
“Washington”.

The
Global
Economy
Trade and international
commerce have brought
unprecedented prosperity to
many parts of the world.
However, it is clear that not all
have benefited equally from the
fundamental changes in our global
economy. Furthermore, if current
trends continue, the challenges
plaguing our shared economy, such
as income inequality, stagnant wages,
and lack of viable retraining options
for displaced workers, will only worsen.
The Washington Institute is
committed to drawing attention to
these pressing challenges among
leaders of business, government, and
society, and serving as a catalyst for
their combined efforts.
In 2019, the Washington Institute
convened current and future leaders
to consider how to address these
challenges and laid the groundwork
for furthering these efforts in 2020.
