The following guide provides residents with information you may need in the
event you test positive for COVID-19.
Although you may be in quarantine, remember that you are not alone!

PREVENTION
Below are recommendations the CDC has provided to help prevent the possibility of COVID-19.
CDC Prevention Tips:
1. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
2. Use hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
3. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
4. Inside your home avoid close contact with people who are sick and stay 6 feet away from any
potential carriers.
5. Outside your home put 6 feet of distance between yourself and people who don’t live in your
household.
6. Use masks at all time to cover your mouth and nose at all times (Masks should not be placed
on young children under age 2)
7. Continue practicing social distancing by keeping 6 feet between yourself and others.
8. Always cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside
of your elbow and do not spit.
9. Clean AND disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily.
10. Be alert for symptoms. Watch for fever, cough, shortness of breath, or other symptoms of
COVID-19.
11. Take your temperature if symptoms develop.

COVID-19 SYMPTOMS
According to the CDC, people diagnosed with COVID-19 may have had a wide range of
symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14
days after exposure to the virus. Below are a list of potential symptoms of COVID-19 provided
by the CDC.
Potential COVID-19 Symptoms:
• Fever or chills
• Cough
• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
• Fatigue
• Muscle or body aches
• Headache
• New loss of taste or smell
• Sore throat
• Congestion or runny nose
• Nausea or vomiting
• Diarrhea
**Seek Emergency Medical Care if you are experiencing the below symptoms:**
• Trouble breathing
• Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
• New confusion
• Inability to wake or stay awake
• Bluish lips or face
TESTING
According to CDC guidelines, if you’re experiencing symptoms or think you’ve been exposed to
COVID-19, contact your health care provider or your state or local public health department to
find out where you can get tested. Tests are available at many health centers and some
pharmacies. Call in advance to see if an appointment is required.
Types of Tests:
• Viral Test - A viral test tells you if you have a current infection.
• Antibody Test - An antibody test might tell you if you had a past infection
• PCR Test – Results may take 3-5 days
• Rapid Test – Results available in 30 minutes- 2 hours
Who should Test:
• People who have symptoms of COVID-19.
• People who have had close contact (within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes or more) with
someone with confirmed COVID-19.
**Per CDC Guidelines, if you do get tested, you should self-quarantine/isolate at home
pending test results**

COVID-19 POSTIVE:
Please contact management immediately if you test positive for COVID-19 in order for us to
prepare any necessary accommodations you may require during quarantine.
CDC Recommended Steps to Take if COVID-19 Positive:
1. Stay home. Most people with COVID-19 have mild illness and can recover at home
without medical care.
2. Take care of yourself. Get rest and stay hydrated.
3. Stay in touch with your doctor. Call before you get medical care.
4. Avoid public transportation, ride-sharing, or taxis.
5. As much as possible, stay in a specific room and away from other people and pets in
your home.
6. Tell your close contacts that they may have been exposed to COVID-19.
7. Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze.
8. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
9. Use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
10. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
11. Do not share dishes, drinking glasses, cups, eating utensils, towels, or bedding with other
people in your home.
12. Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces in your “sick room” and bathroom; wear
disposable gloves.
SUPPLIES
It is very important to have the necessary supplies at home to avoid the need to leave your unit.
Below is a list of supplies recommended by the CDC that you should have readily available if
you test positive for COVID-19.

• Thermometer
• Thermometer Covers
• Alcohol Wipes
• Tape Measure
• Extra seating
• Fever Reducers (IE: Tylenol)
• Disinfectant
• Prescription drugs
• Water
• Gloves
• Hand sanitizer & Soap
• Masks
• Air purifier
LIFESTYLE SERVICES
Pet Care:
Residents should use a 3rd party company for dog walks in order to minimize the number of
times leaving the apartment. Please contact lifestyle at [email protected] if you
would like any assistance in booking a dog walker.

Elevator Assistance:
• Residents must contact the front desk in advance if they need to leave the building and in
advance of returning.
• Residents should only depart their unit for emergencies.
• Staff will provide an isolated elevator to use as needed
• Elevator will be disinfected after each use.
Trash Removal:
• Residents must contact PARAMOUNT staff when trash needs to be thrown out.
• Trash must be left in the foyer and resident must vacate the area prior to staff arrival.
• Large boxes will not be permitted to throw out until quarantine is over
• Please contact the lifestyle team at [email protected] to arrange trash pick
up
Groceries:
• Residents should order all groceries online.
• Groceries will be delivered to the resident’s foyer.
• Resident must vacate the area prior to staff delivering groceries.
• Meal plans are also recommended for residents during quarantine.
• Please contact lifestyle at [email protected] if you are expecting groceries
or have any additional questions regarding meal plans.
Mail Delivery:
• Residents should not leave their unit to retrieve mail.
• Please contact lifestyle at [email protected] to schedule a time to deliver
mail.
• Resident must vacate the foyer prior to staff arrival
Package Deliveries:
• Packages will be left at the front door and residents will be asked to only pick up the
delivery after the staff member has left the vicinity of the unit.
• Large packages may not be able to be delivered until resident has completed quarantine
Food Deliveries
• Deliveries will be left at the front door and residents will be asked to only pick up the
delivery after the staff member has left the vicinity of the unit.
• Please contact the lifestyle team if you are expecting any food deliveries.
CONTRACTORS/VENDORS
• No contractors will be permitted to do work in the unit during quarantine.
• Exceptions must be approved by management and should only be approved if it is an
emergency.
GUESTS/VISITORS
• Communicate with staff if you are expecting any guests/visitors.
VALET
• Valet service will not be available for residents who have tested positive for COVID-19
• Additional hand sanitizing stations have been added to the entrance of the building.
RECCOMENDED ACTIVITIES
While getting rest is extremely important during quarantine, there are several different activities
residents can do to help keep themselves occupied while at home. Below is a recommended list
of activities that residents can do during quarantine.
• Write letters
• Facetime with friends
• Read a book
• Play boardgames online
• Take virtual tours
• Take virtual cooking classes
• Write a journal
• Watch movies
• Rearrange your home
• Learn to cook (if your alone)
• Play instruments
• Stay in contact with family and friends
• Take online courses
