Burst Test
The main purpose of a burst test is to determine
the burst resistance of the flexible pipe.
For this 5” 15K Fracking Line application, the
burst pressure target is defined as 1.69 x Design
Pressure (1.3 x 1.3 x Design Pressure) which is
25,350psi.
Burst test was conducted by MTQ Pte Ltd
qualified tester, witnessed remotely by ASMU
representative and BV KL representative.
The burst test was successfully executed
without any burst or leakage even though it was
over than targeted burst pressure and reached
at 30,000psi.
Outcomes
In summary, with this qualification performed, ASMU is able to prove our manufacturing and
mounting capability up to 15Kpsi. ASMU is now fully qualified to produce fracking line to supply
to TechnipFMC Surface for their application.
It was a successful qualification process with a great team effort from all respective
departments. Great appreciation to all the team members for the effort throughout this
qualification and it has again proved ASMU’s capability in overcoming all future challenges.

APPLYING OUR CORE VALUES – CIV TEST COLLABORATION WITH FLEXI
FRANCE
In July 2021, ASMU QC laboratory team and LTMU QC laboratory team successfully
completed a job collaboration on a laboratory test called corrected
inherent viscosity (CIV).
It started in the mid of July when the CIV equipment in ASMU laboratory broke down
and required part replacement which expected to take 8 weeks to be fixed. A quick
action had been made by contacting the PIC in LTMU laboratory to check the
possibility of LTMU laboratory team to perform the test for ASMU. The main target is
to complete the tests for KDG6-MJ1 project which including pipe sections TR01, TR02,
TR03 and TR11.
In 1 week, all necessary actions were taken including test method, test schedule,
reporting format, eMOC etc. and the samples flew from Malaysia to France on 22nd
July. The samples arrived on 4th August and all CIV tests were completed by 16th
August with all results complying to the required criteria.
This job collaboration is a successful evidence not only about the job completion, but
also the proof of our core values of Realizing Possibilities, Achieving Together and
Building Trust
This project was led by Wan Iswandy Jafni Bin W. Ismail (ASMU) and Severine Leroux
(LTMU).

Return Of Deep Explorer To Asiaflex Quay Site
After leaving Asiaflex quay site on
11th June 2021 for Muara Bakau,
Indonesia, Deep Explorer
returned to Tanjung Langsat after
her completed with her mission.
Deep Explorer arrived at Asiaflex
quay site on 26th July 2021 at
12.00 midnight when the moon
was shining high in the sky.
However, when Deep Explorer
arrived at Tanjung Langsat port,
the anchor position at the jetty
was on the peak causing Deep
Explorer to anchor in a temporary
position. The demobilization
operation was somewhat limited
to that position but we managed to
continue with our works.
Fortunately, 26th July 2021 at
12.00 noon, Deep Explorer was
allowed to anchor at the planned
position after the jetty was free
and allowed the demobilization
operation to be fully carried out.

_Deep Explorer Demobilization Preparation_
OSAS Performed Initial Preparation On The Jetty So That Demobilization
Operations Runs Smoothly When Deep Explorer Arrives
Early preparation on the jetty is very important as it can affect the smooth running
during demobilization operations. This is because when the demobilization operations
run smoothly, the anchoring period can be reduced and this will contribute to the
operating cost savings for TechnipFMC.
Therefore, 2 days before the arrival of Deep Explorer, OSAS had already started
preparation on the jetty and among of them are;

1. Place and connect power supply to security hut, office cabin, canopy tents setup
to control social distancing and so on.
2. Place reel cradles and storage rail on the jetty in receiving the reels and other
heavy equipment during demobilization.
3. Receive hotwork equipment at the jetty and do equipment inspection to detect if
there is any damage to the equipment in advance so it will not interfere with the
subsequent demobilization operations.
4. Provide equipment for heavy lifting work at jetty such as spreader bars and other
rigging equipment.
5. Stock up consumable items to control Covid-19 infections such as face masks,
hand sanitization, disinfectant and drinking water.

Deep Explorer Demobilization..
OSAS Involved in Deep Explorer Demobilization Coordination.
Although the demobilization operations began on 61
26th July 2021 at 12.00 midnight, it only went on
full operations on 26th July 2021 at 12.00 noon
after Deep Explorer was allowed to anchor in the
correct position for heavy lifting job.
Heavy lifting job started with equipment
interspersed with 5 reels containing umbilical
products. Vessel crane was used to do equipment
heavy lifting from Deep Explorer decks onto the
jetty.
Meanwhile, mobile cranes on the jetty and multi-
axles trailer were used to shift the heavy
equipment to the side. As for the reels, Jumbo
team assisted in the reel shifting according to the
plan layout. We really appreciate the Jumbo team
for their kind assistance.

At the same time, hotwork job continued onboard and only stopped for a while when
there is crossing of overhead heavy lifting to ensure the safety of the hotwork team
is taken care of.
For this time of operation, OSAS had managed to add value to its services by offering
expertise in coordinating hotwork scope on Deep Explorer.
We received encouraging feedback for OSAS in general and as Mr. Mohd Fairul Agil,
OSAS Senior Foreman has been specifically mentioned by the client for his excellent
services.
Deep Explorer demobilization operations finally ended on 28th July 2021.
