It gives me great honour to pen yet another foreword for our annual event. May the Lord continue to shower His grace upon all the hardworking committee members who have to prepare all the materials as well as to look into the technicalities of running online quizzes at various levels. We must thank GOD that due to the pandemic, all of us have learnt new skills in line with the advancement in technology to do things differently. Knowing the Bible better gives us spiritual guidance. The Bible contains teachings, stories, and principles that shape our Christian beliefs and practices. Knowing the Bible also allows us to deepen our understanding of Jesus Christ and thus develop a personal relationship with God. The Bible also guides us as to how to live a righteous and just life, practising values such as love, compassion, honesty, and forgiveness. Thus, it also helps us to make ethical decisions and navigate moral dilemmas. The Bible holds great significance in the fields of theology, philosophy, history, and literature. Familiarity with the Bible can enrich academic studies and intellectual pursuits. In our Malaysian context, it gives an opening to students pursuing another subject of study and be examined at SPM level. Page 1 FOREWORD

It allows individuals to engage in meaningful conversations and discussions with people from different religious backgrounds. By knowing the Bible, one can better understand and appreciate the beliefs and perspectives of others. This has been proven by many leaders in our country who have been educated in a Christian mission school environment. Studying the Bible can foster self-reflection, leading to personal development and a deeper understanding of oneself. Year after year, this quiz has been meticulously organized and flawlessly executed, showcasing the unwavering belief in the profound significance of Bible Knowledge as an SPM subject and its role as a moral compass for young Christians in our modern world. It is truly an exercise of great meaning for young Christians to delve into the depths of the Bible, exploring its teachings and drawing inspiration from its timeless wisdom. I would like to take this opportunity to commend the Federation of Christian Mission Schools Malaysia (FCMSM) for their steadfast commitment in upholding the ethos, character, and tradition of mission schools. NICHOLAS SOO JIA KAI SABAH TSHUNG TSIN SECONDARY SCHOOL ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: A+ I started learning BK in Form 4. The most overwhelming challenge was the huge amount of facts and incidents in Acts, as well as the annoyingly-easy-to-mix-up parables in Luke. What helped me immensely, however, was to read everything from the perspective of a layperson Christian. Focusing on the main message first and getting the full picture of Jesus’ (+ later on the Apostles) ministry is easier and helpful before returning to work out the details. BK students should not be too obsessed with memorising every detail as the sheer amount of material might put them off. That being said, details are still very important for the exam, but it shouldn't cause us to lose sight of what is truly important. A student who is well acquainted with the core message of Christ will be able to know the Scriptures intimately. Above all, it should be out of love for God that students work hard for BK, as they say when you love someone, you would want to know everything about them. So learning about God in BK isn't a chore anymore. SYBILLE MIMA SEBASTIAN SM LOK YUK KOTA KINABALU (CF) ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: A I started joining BK classes in Form 4 but I quit half way through. Then in form 4, decided to rejoin the BK class because I really felt a ‘calling’. During BK classes, I felt more confident to express my own opinions and to discuss with others in the class. There was always something new that could be learned, a deeper understanding when we read or listened to the texts. BK never failed to amaze me. I really like BK classes where we encourage one another to strengthen our faith together. I was worried for my SPM BK since I always forget details that I had memorised. Thanks be to God who helped me score an A. My advice to other students who want to take BK is not to be afraid of it. God will always be there to strengthen and guide you. Page 8 YESAVELLA MOJILIS SM LOK YUK KOTA KINABALU (CF) ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: A I started taking BK in Form 4. I found it challenging to learn BK in English but as time went by, I got used to it: my English improved and I got better in speaking English. In BK, we not just memorise the facts or stories but we also learn about the background of the stories and many other interesting details. We gain lessons from it and apply it to our daily life. These lessons keep us closer to God. BK class taught me that the Bible is not only to be read, but to be learned and shared with other people so that the world would know God’s love and God’s plan for each of us in this life. I have also learnt that God's timing is the best. (Inspired by Paul's missionary journeys). I have learnt to trust in God for everything, no matter how bad things may be. I am truly grateful that God gave me the opportunity to learn BK in my high school years. IVAN YONG JUN XIANG SM ALL SAINTS ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: AI initially joined BK classes because I thought it would be a fun experience to learn about the Word of God. But the true challenge came when I had to learn the 2 books in one year. Though I was not alone in this endeavor, I was grateful to have Elvin with me to study the 2 books together. It was tough to remember all the names of places, recalling incidents and parables and facts. However, with the guidance of my teacher and our many scheduled extra classes, with the many exercises I did with the rest of my 05 batchmates, I took my BK SPM feeling nervous. To my surprise, I achieved an A- in my SPM. What great joy! I also realized that what compelled me to take BK was not just an instinct but it was God who pushed me on this incredible BK journey. My love for God and faith in Him was strengthened. I am grateful to my teacher for guiding me through BK and I will never forget the memories with my BK mates. JERICHO IVAN MARTIN SM ST. ANTHONY, LABUAN ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: B+ At first I thought of Bible Knowledge as a waste of time. However, once I started joining the classes it was actually fun and exciting and it was one of my best decisions. I got a B+ for BK in SPM. It was quite disappointing because I had my eye on an A but as the verse from Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. Bible Knowledge has truly affected my life in a positive way that I do not regret taking it. I hope more students would consider taking Bible Knowledge as they not only grow in knowledge but also grow spiritually just as I did.
ELVIN FREDERIC SM ALL SAINTS ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: B+ When I heard about Bible Knowledge classes, I hesitated because I only had one year to prepare for SPM, and we had two books - Luke and Acts - to study. It was a tough job, but I made it a challenge for myself. Throughout the lessons, I got to know many new friends from other schools, and I really learned a lot during BK classes. We studied about the events during Jesus’ ministry, parables, His teachings, the early Church and its growth. As the SPM was getting closer, I studied more and more with my teacher and my friends and prayed to God. When the SPM BK paper was over my Bible Knowledge lessons came to an end, but the knowledge, did not, and will never end there. There is no “end” for it, as I will try my best to tell others about the good things of Bible Knowledge. JOSHUA RAHUL ROW SMK LA SALLE PETALING JAYA, SELANGOR ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: A Taking Bible Knowledge as an additional subject in SPM is one of the best decisions I have ever made. It was amazing how the Holy Spirit inspired me to take up BK. I started my first online BK class during the pandemic. I thank my school teacher, Puan Elizabeth Thoms for encouraging me to take BK and for getting a BK teacher for me. My friend, Jiivan Anthony was a great sport and he always helped me and made our BK classes more fun. I am sure many would think “Why take BK?” But BK is a beautiful subject which taught me about God and made my relationship with God stronger! At first, I was worried about juggling my time for 9 other subjects along with BK. So, I prayed and asked God for help and guidance. Indeed, by God’s grace I was able to score an A in SPM. I encourage all juniors to take BK as a subject in SPM because with God by your side you can do it. Study hard. BK is a subject that will stay with us throughout our lives. IAN GERALD R LAJOT SM ST PATRICK TAWAU, SABAH My BK journey was quite hard yet it was interesting. Initially, I joined the class just to accompany my friends and to add to the number but the more I attended class the more fun it was and I became so engrossed in BK. It was fun learning about Jesus’ life, His ministry, His teachings and how the early church grew, making Christianity a faith that would last forever. I will forever be grateful to my BK teachers for teaching and pushing me so that I could get good marks. I hope that other Bible Knowledge students are blessed as I am. Page 9
Page 10 JIIVAN ANTHONY SMK LA SALLE, PETALING JAYA When I first started studying Bible Knowledge, I realised how little I knew about the Bible and my faith. Just listening to the readings once a week in church at Mass is not enough! Taking BK in SPM provided me with a foundation in my faith. The Gospel of Luke presents the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, emphasizing His compassion for the marginalized. The Acts of the Apostles narrates the growth of the early Christian Church and missionary activities. I find both books inspiring and insightful, providing guidance for my faith journey throughout my revision for SPM. I cherish the encouragement I received from my teachers. My school teacher, Puan Elizabeth introduced me to my Bible Knowledge teacher in Form 4 and continuously pushed me to excel, even during moments of self-doubt. My BK teacher’s patient explanations and unwavering support even when my marks were low meant the world to me. I am immensely grateful to have had such incredible teachers. Additionally, I want to express my gratitude to my friend Joshua Rahul Row, who always assisted me in understanding BK and shared his notes when I was absent. Their contributions have been invaluable to my education and personal growth. Lastly, don’t feel discouraged when you do not receive the grade that you want, because what you have gained along the journey is more than the grade. Above all, never give up! ANDREW JAY CHONG SM ST. ANTHONY, LABUAN ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: A I started studying BK for a funny reason: my BK teacher at the time always brought food whenever she had her classes and that was motivation at first. However, as time went by, I found the classes were really fun. As a Catholic I was always taught about the faith and the Scriptures during Sunday school and mass but I never felt it was enough. So joining the BK class is something I will never regret. I enjoyed it because we had an in-depth look at what was in the Bible. BK is much more than just obtaining an A. BK is an unfiltered exploration of our religion which helps us gain a deeper understanding of the who, what and why of our faith. Regardless to say, from that chubby Form 2 kid to the still chubby man I am today, I can with full confidence say that taking Bible Knowledge for SPM is one of the best decisions I have ever made.
VONG JUN YI, SMK (L) METHODIST, KL ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: AThe experience of studying Bible Knowledge has been a rather enriching one for me. Each lesson I attended had numerous takeaways that can be applied in one's daily life, one of which is the fact that salvation in Jesus is for everyone. This has certainly helped to strengthen my faith, knowing that no one is prevented from receiving Jesus’ eternal gift. Jesus said that He 'came to seek and to save the lost': this experience has helped to address my lack of knowledge of God's Word and has given me a renewed sense of purpose in life, which drove me to persevere and eventually succeed in my SPM examination in spite of the trials and tribulations faced throughout the past two years. GIDEON KONG MIN JYN SMK (L) METHODIST, KL ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: A+ My journey with BK began in Form 1 when my CF teacher recommended that I participate in the Postal Quiz as part of the club’s activity. A few months later, came the National BK Quiz which I joined honestly just for fun. Thus, I began looking forward to joining the BK Quiz every year. During the MCO, I used to revise BK with a friend via Zoom almost every night as both of us were participating in the SPM BK team category quiz. Those moments were delightful as I enjoyed the company of a friend when everyone was required to stay at home. It was also then I started seriously prioritising BK. Right until SPM, it was usual for me to read both the Gospel of Luke and Acts as “bedtime stories” because I really enjoyed it. Thank you to all the teachers both at school and church for guiding me! I am so glad I studied Bible Knowledge. CHAN LE HONG SMK L METHODIST, KL I am truly very grateful for what BK has done for me. I managed to improve my knowledge of both the books of Luke and Acts but what really is important is the understanding of certain events in both these books. SPM BK may have been hard and challenging but it is first of all, a catalyst to help enrich us with the word of God. I have been very blessed throughout my entire journey of learning BK with a very good teacher and excellent friends. I believe it is the grace of God that has helped me through my toughest times. I truly thank my Christian circle that has pushed me to do BK not only in SPM but also to participate in the national quizzes. Page 12 AARON TAN SMK GAJAH BERANG, MELAKA. ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: A I hesitated to take SPM BK at first. I prayed and with the Holy Spirit’s guidance I began to strive for the best. God gave me a diligent teacher, Madam Jagan who taught so well that I improved greatly in my understanding of the Word of God and as well as in my English language. My teammate Julian and I were able to participate in the 26th National BK SPM Oral Quiz 2022. To our surprise, we ended up as the Southern Region and Melaka champions. Amazingly, we turned out to be the top among the competing teams at the semi-finals and advanced into the finals. Unfortunately, due to lack of experience and practice, we did not perform well in the finals but it was a precious experience for both of us. I managed to get an A in SPM BK. More importantly, I had a deeper encounter with God and now I have a clearer understanding of His Word and His will for my life. SARAH DING SMK TINGGI ST DAVID, MELAKA ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: A+ I’ve been raised in a Christian family. Honestly, I never truly believed or took God's word to heart. In Lower secondary. when teachers or peers asked me why I took part in the Bible Knowledge quizzes, I would shrug and say, “Because my parents told me to.” or “Because I'm a Christian'. As I grew older, I started to understand how God has been working in my life. I accepted Christ and was baptised. I realised then what a privilege it is to learn about my own God in our education system and the freedom we have to take Bible Knowledge as a subject at SPM level or to take part in the Bible Knowledge quizzes. Therefore, I am very grateful that my parents encouraged me to take Bible Knowledge and I thank God for all His blessings in my life.
ANGELA SII GA YOUNG SMK METHODIST, SIBU, SARAWAK ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: A I thought taking Bible Knowledge would help me to prioritize God and study His Word consistently. However, this journey was not easy as I had to spend more time on this extra subject. God reminded me through His word, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9) that all I have to do is to put my trust in Him. I never knew how powerful God's words and how great His blessings are until I took BK. Throughout the two years, God's word always comforted me, gave me hope and joy whenever I felt stressed. It is not easy to get an A+ for BK in SPM but it is definitely the only subject that leads us to heaven as God's words will never pass away. I tried my best but got an A in BK for SPM instead of A+ but it doesn't matter because God looks at the heart. I have eternal hope in Him. I am so grateful for the opportunity to learn God's words in school. VICKY TIONG ING ONG, SMK METHODIST, SIBU, SARAWAK ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: A+ Studying BK requires time, energy and commitment. However, knowing that I'm studying for the glory of God, I always felt the urge to study harder. Throughout the two years, I gained knowledge about God's word and experienced God's faithfulness and love. On top of that, BK has strengthened my faith and functioned as a constant reminder for me to stand firm as a Christian in my daily life. Praise the Lord, for He is good! I shall proudly say that taking BK is one of the best choices I have ever made. ADRINA WONG WEI NI SMK METHODIST, SIBU, SARAWAK ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: A+ Thank God that I took Bible Knowledge as a subject for my SPM! I enjoyed every BK lesson on Fridays because it was like a recharging session after an exhausting week of studying. In this two-year journey, we have gone through the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles chapter by chapter, verse by verse. BK has helped me to know more about God’s Word and grow in faith in the Lord. I have learnt and know that our God is faithful and merciful. God is our Father, a listener God. This has helped me to change my attitude from focusing on myself to relying on God when I face challenges. Furthermore, the knowledge I gained from studying BK also helps me to better understand other books in the Bible as I find it easier to relate to the preaching in church. Page 13
Page 14 KO JING SING, SMK METHODIST, SIBU, SARAWAK ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: A I decided to take Bible Knowledge as an elective subject because my parents encouraged me to do so. At first, I thought BK would be easy as I had learned about some of the miracles and parables in Sunday School. However, it turned out to be a challenge for me as I could not memorize some of the events and details, and thus did not get very high marks in my exams. I once doubted my decision to take BK and even thought of giving up. Thanks to my parents, my friends and teacher who always encouraged and supported me. Hence, I put more effort into studying Bible Knowledge and eventually obtained an A for BK in SPM. Praise be to God! CHRISMAY TIONG HAN CHEE SMK METHODIST, SIBU, SARAWAK ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: B+ I have never regretted studying BK for SPM as it brought me nearer to God by studying His words. In BK, we studied Luke and Acts. The knowledge acquired over the past two years is very useful to me, especially when I entered a short-term missionary school. I always remember what my teacher said during one of the BK lessons “Bible Knowledge is not only a subject for which you study and obtain a good result, but most importantly to apply the word of God in daily life.” I encourage the juniors to persevere in studying God’s word. YONG MEE ANN SMK SERI KEMBANGAN, SELANGOR ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: A It was not my choice taking BK at first. I was burdened by a lot of homework and co-curriculum. Although I was busy, I still said yes. Not every school offers BK and I heard a voice encouraging me to take BK. I had many excuses not to join the BK class but I still tried my best to overcome laziness and build self-discipline. God gave me the strength and ability to persist in studying BK and I am so glad that I did. Learning and understanding God's words more passionately is what I've achieved in taking BK for SPM. I truly hope that all Christian students would take hold of this golden opportunity to know God a little more closely every day.
JEREMY TEOW JING YANG SMK SERI KEMBANGAN, SELANGOR ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: B+ At the start, taking Bible Knowledge was just to fulfil a promise, to take an extra subject. However, it soon hit me that BK became a "task" that was going to take up much time and effort. That was my initial thought of BK. With the support of friends and my teacher, I have come to appreciate everything. In just a few months, I had a change in heart. Learning God’s word has really given a new lens to my life. I have begun to think differently, approaching challenges in life differently with God's guidance. Moreover, learning BK has deepened my relationship with God and I now appreciate the relationship I have with Him. To conclude, BK really has changed my life. There may be other ways to continue to build my faith but I will treasure my BK journey forever. AMERY EDGAR KABI SM ST PATRICK, TAWAU, SABAH ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: A I took Bible Knowledge as an extra subject in Form 2 with the encouragement of my parents and older brother who had also studied BK. At first, I found it a hassle since I had to dedicate more time to studying BK and thus, less time to do other things that I enjoyed. But by God's grace, BK slowly became a lesson that I looked forward to every week. What captured my attention the most during each class is how detailed each story or account was written in the two books, Luke and Acts. It was as if I was present there, witnessing each event first hand. Through this, my faith grew significantly and I realize that my relationship with God has greatly improved. I thank God for rewarding me with an A. All glory be to God! TAN YI-YONG SMK SEAFIELD, PETALING JAYA Choosing to take Bible Knowledge wasn’t an easy decision, as that meant piling up on the already-heavy academic burden. However, the benefits of studying Bible Knowledge are immense. I was able to learn deeply and clearly about the messages that God has spoken through His Word. The two books taught - Acts and Luke, bring a holistic view of the times of Jesus and the early Church, providing a strong foundation for believers and seekers alike. I strongly encourage all to take Bible Knowledge and not fear the academic burden because when you glorify God, God will glorify you. Page 15
Page 16 WONG JIA HUI SMJK KATHOLIK, PETALING JAYA BK CLASS: DUMC – DAMANSARA UTAMA METHODIST CHURCH ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: A+ Encouraged by my parents and my experiences in BK quizzes, I overcame my hesitation in taking BK for SPM, despite already juggling between 11 subjects. I built up courage, believing that God would help me through the process of studying and preparing for 12 subjects in SPM. Studying the Word of God was truly an enjoyable and insightful experience as I delved into the truths of God through the parables, miracles and wonders in Luke and Acts. I have never regretted taking BK because I have encountered God’s grace to a greater extent throughout the journey, and no matter the numerous times I fall, God has given me strength to continue moving forward. Immense gratefulness fills me for my BK teacher’s guidance and encouragement, alongside the unwavering support of my family and friends along the journey. By God’s grace, I achieved straight As and an A+ for BK in SPM. All glory to God! CHRISLY ALBERT LIOW SM ST. MARY, SANDAKAN, SABAH ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: A My family had a great influence on me to study Bible Knowledge. My sister is my role model and through God’s plan, she showed me the passage from Deuteronomy 31:8, “The LORD himself will lead you and be with you. He will not fail you or abandon you, so do not lose courage or be afraid.” Therefore, I started studying BK diligently by preparing myself for quizzes especially the SPM BK and I did well at National level. I had my doubts but with continuous encouragement from my mother, Jamini Francis and assistance from my BK teachers, Mr. Stephen, Madam Shim and Mr. Ang, I scored an A for BK and also got flying colours in my SPM examination. Most importantly, I thank God for His blessings upon me and helping me get an A in Bible Knowledge. Amen!
ANGELEENA BONG SMK PAYA RUMPUT, MELAKA. (ANGELEENA SCORED 8AS AND A PASS IN BIBLE KNOWLEDGE IN SPM) It is good to learn and gain more knowledge about Christianity through the SPM Bible Knowledge subject. Besides, it is important for us to understand God’s truths in a deeper way. I faced many difficulties while learning BK in English because I grew up in a Bahasa Malaysia church. It was very hard for me as some of the biblical terms and words in English were beyond my understanding. Moreover, I started studying BK in Form 5 instead of in Form 4. Thus, I needed to learn the Gospel of Luke and Acts of the Apostles within a year. By the grace of God, I managed to study them well. So, my advice is: start studying BK when you are in Form 4. Finally, I thank God for my SPM results. Only God knows all my struggles and what I had gone through during that period. Always believe that Jesus has prepared the best for you and never give up! CARISSA KOK FANG LIN SMK INFANT JESUS CONVENT, JOHOR BAHRU ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: A In Form 4, I decided to take Bible Knowledge as a subject for my SPM. It is a decision I will never regret. BK is an interesting subject where we learn stories about Jesus and God’s kingdom. In Luke and Acts, we learn how God uses different people for His kingdom. If you study this subject diligently before the examination, you will definitely get good marks. However, BK is not just about the grades. Studying BK builds our relationship with God. God guides me through His words and I understand more deeply what I should and shouldn’t do. God strengthens me when my life goes up and down. It is not easy to take so many subjects at the same time, but I truly felt God working on my side when I studied BK. It was fun but soon I became lazy and unmotivated as we were only having online classes and it was difficult to balance BK with my other subjects. At one point, I stopped attending online classes and almost quit BK. I asked the Lord to give me strength so that I would be able to continue studying BK despite taking 9 other subjects. One day I just missed studying BK so much and that was when I knew the Lord had given me the strength to carry on. Taking BK as a subject for my SPM examination is one of the best decisions I have made. I was able to learn deeper about Jesus and I enjoyed talking about Jesus and His teachings with my teacher and friends during BK classes. When physical classes started, I was able to understand better. I am very thankful to our teacher, Madam Janet who always highlighted the key words and helped us to understand the context. She taught us to relate the Bible to our lives and understand the hidden teaching in each chapter or verse. Through studying BK, my relationship with God has been strengthened. I thank God for the opportunity to learn God’s Word. I encourage my juniors to take this extra subject in your SPM because it will help you in many ways. However, as time went by, I felt drained and considered dropping BK. My teacher, Madam Janet had told us that being a follower of Jesus is not easy and that we must sacrifice our time to serve Him. She also warned us that we could experience temptations that can stop us from learning BK. These things were in my mind for few days and I started to pray, repent, and eventually continued studying BK as usual. My friends and I would memorise verses and we would tell each other and test ourselves I faced many challenges during my BK journey but many good things also happened to me. I learned a lot about Jesus, experienced His blessings and grew closer to God. I am so grateful to my teacher for introducing BK to me and guiding me. It has not only provided countless opportunities but also transformed my worldview. Studying BK has become a joy, as I deepen my connection with God. I yearn to share my Christian knowledge far and wide. The annual BK Quiz has been a yearly highlight since Form 1. My dream was to reach the finals in Form 5. By God's grace, it became a reality. My teammate and I emerged victorious in the 26th National SPM BK Quiz Finals, securing a scholarship from MCKL. This experience taught me about perseverance and obedience, as God rewards unwavering faith. BK taught me about hope and redemption, offering solace and strength in the face of adversity and existential questions. Now in college, I see the vastness of the world and the diversity of people. It is one of my most enjoyable subjects and I would like to thank Mr Ben for making it so much easier and fun to study BK. I started participating in a lot of online BK quizzes since Form 3, so I did not need to study so hard when I reached Form 5 as I was already familiar with most of what I learned. As you are reading, take note of the people, places and events that took place. Last but not least, do a lot of past year questions for practice as some topics may be repetitive but the questions are structured in a different way. ANGELIA FAYE ANAK ADRIAN ORLANDO ST. JOSEPH’S PRIVATE SCHOOL, KUCHING, SARAWAK ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: A+ Many people around me say that BK is similar to Sejarah, something you must memorize in order to get marks. Although I agree that there are many details to remember, I can say that I have learned much more than the contents of the two books, the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles. Not only did the whole process of learning benefit me in deepening my relationship with Christ, I gained countless life lessons through discovering the meanings behind the Parables of Jesus. There really isn't a short cut to achieve great results in SPM BK as it is something that requires hard work and dedication. Initially, I hesitated and faced discouragement from others. However, I decided to embrace BK as an act of faith, recognising that God’s power and guidance transcend mere grades. As a BK student, I felt a sense of loneliness due to the subject's lack of popularity, which translated to fewer online resources and guides. I am immensely grateful for God's provision through the videos by BK Teacher Kenneth on YouTube, notes and compilations of past year papers provided by my passionate and loving teachers. Scoring an A+ for BK was undoubtedly a blessing from God, but the true joy lies in the invaluable lessons and wisdom I gained throughout this experience. I soon realised there was a lot to read, understand and memorise from the books of Luke and Acts. I failed BK in Form 4 because I did not put much effort into it. I wondered if I should drop BK. Just then a Bible account popped up in my mind: the Crucifixion of Jesus. Jesus was whipped, beaten, insulted, and He sacrificed Himself on the cross for us, sinners. Jesus died on the Cross for me! What can I sacrifice? So, I decided to continue studying BK. In Form 5, I studied seriously and asked God for good memory and wisdom. Praise God! I got an A for BK in my SPM! My results had improved from G to A, from impossible to possible! Bible study is essential in our lives. So, learn God’s Word and strengthen your faith in God. LEONG HUI YI SMJK PEREMPUAN CINA, PENANG ACHIEVEMENT FOR BK SPM 2022: A+ Taking Bible Knowledge as an extra subject in SPM was the best decision I have made and I will always encourage others to take BK. There are no cons, only pros. Not only did I make new friends, I also grew in a closer relationship to God, learning to trust Him and surrendering myself to Him. Besides, I learnt to be more disciplined. Taking an extra subject required extra time, concentration and focus in order to juggle 11 subjects, making sure I maintain equally good results in all. However, accepting my limitations, I surrendered my results to God having put in my best effort. I let go and let God! My BK journey was impactful and fruitful. I praise God for my good results and give all glory to Him. That was what I realised looking at my personal walk with the Lord after two years of studying BK. Studying the book of Luke and Acts has greatly strengthened my foundation of faith while challenging me to also live out my faith. The lessons I learned in BK will not just be like the History textbooks which disappear one day after the exams. The lessons from Scripture will stay in my heart for life and will always be a reminder to me to exercise my faith, just as Jesus said that anyone who hears His word and obeys them is like the wise man who laid his foundation on rock.

It was a challenging path but it has been a fruitful journey for me. Initially I found BK quite hard because I grew up in a Chinese church so the Bible I am familiar with is in the Chinese language. Thus, studying BK in English was totally out of my comfort zone. However, I am grateful that the Lord provided me a wonderful and supportive teacher and fellow students. I was able to pick up BK easily through fun interactions and quizzes. Studying BK not only helped me improve my English language but it definitely brought me closer to God. From the stories to the teachings in the book of Luke and the book of Acts, these Scriptures have laid a strong foundation in my faith. As a Christian, I had never really given the Scriptures much serious thought. However, learning BK brought me deeper into knowing God’s Word..
