It was then anchored by an interpretation of ‘Slow Slow’ by choreographer Dimitri Chamblas, which was performed by a troupe from Tama University of Fine Arts. The collection made its way down the runway in the brilliant hues that were presented in Dakar, from powdery and punchy pinks to forest-like greens. The ambiance of the evening painted a clear picture of playful, joyful, reverie and the ensembles that made their way down the runway seamlessly supported the narrative. The beauty of this collection in particular is in the magnitude of its most minute details. The styling of the lineup’s co-ordinated tweed jackets and trousers emanated impossibly effortless appeal. The intricate detailing of Lesage and Montex embroiderers was spotlighted by just the right amount of accessorising and skin. Case in point? The richness of Look 3 paired with a hint of sheerness just underneath it; the svelte contours of Look 6 with its plunging neckline and the modesty of Look 33 which, despite its complicated layers, emanated an ease. The collection’s shoes were show-stealing in their own right— from chunky clogs to sky-high platforms—and came in energetic hues of pink and orange. This was a Sally’s Baking Challenge recipe one year and had hundreds of participants making and loving it!
