Welcome to the Team, Nationwide Laboratories
On August 24th, Alan Myers, VP/GM, announced the official completion of the Nationwide Laboratory Services acquisition. Nationwide
Laboratory Services (NLS) is an independent clinical diagnostic laboratory based in Boca Raton in South Florida.
Specifically, Quest acquired the laboratory services and select patient service centers (PSCs)
located primarily in the Miami metropolitan area. In addition, testing services once performed
at Nationwide’s laboratory would transition to Quest’s full-service laboratory in Miramar, FL, and
rapid response labs in the region.
In his announcement, Alan stated, “I’d like to extend a warm welcome to those of you from NLS
who are now part of our team. We recognize that you are an important contributor to
Nationwide’s success, and we look forward to benefiting from your expertise.”
Dean Morris, CEO of NLS, accepted a role as a consultant with Quest Diagnostics and will assist with transition processes moving forward.
“The opportunity to join forces with Quest was a natural progression for Nationwide as our core values align well,” commented Dean. “Both
companies put a premium on superior patient and client customer service which set us apart from our competitors. The ability to provide
patients and clients with a broader testing menu and greater access to patient service centers sealed the deal.”
All functions have been busy integrating the NLS business into our Quest operations, including the SE-S Commercial team. Jorge
Hernandez, EVP Commercial, SE-S commented, “I am excited about the idea of Quest
and Nationwide joining forces. The synergies between these two companies has been
evident from the start, and we trust that our patients and clients will be generally excited
about this as well.”
Thank you to everyone who has helped to welcome NLS to the Quest family!

A Commercial Colleagues Plea: Get Vaccinated Now!
Take a minute to read a Commercial colleagues scary COVID-19 journey and her plea to others to “get vaccinated now!”
Karyn Carroll, Dermatology Account Executive in the Southeast Region, and her family decided to not get the
COVID vaccine. “We are healthy, young and rarely get ill,” Karyn said. “We don’t typically get a flu shot and
thought we didn’t need the COVID vaccine, either.”
Now, Karyn is sharing her story and urging colleagues and friends who are hesitant to take action:
“GET VACCINATED NOW!!! We didn’t get vaccinated and are living to regret our decision. For a week, my
husband, Kevin, was fighting to breathe in the Mayo Clinic Intensive Care Unit. It was such a long, lonely and
terrifying week. We could not be with him but were so thankful that he was cared for by some of the best doctors
and staff in the business. Despite receiving such great care, including groundbreaking treatments, COVID still
wreaked havoc on his lungs and body. What used to be an easy task has become very taxing. Kevin is one of
the lucky ones, but he will tell you it has been a living hell that he wouldn’t wish on ANYONE! We don’t want you
going through this too…Get your vaccine!!”
Kevin has been home for three months now and though he is off all medication and oxygen, his lungs are STILL
recovering and strengthening.
Karyn and Kevin are passionate about sharing their story with others in the hopes that their story might encourage
others to get the vaccine and avoid enduring what they did.
Thank you, Karyn, for sharing your personal story!
If you have further questions about the vaccine, please visit the dedicated COVID-19 site and read the “Just the Vax”
misinformation and facts document that is intended to help with common misinformation & concerns related to SARS
CoV-2 vaccinations.

Tackling the Hidden Pandemic's Impact on Underserved Communities
The following contains excerpts from a press release and news story in Tampa regarding Quest’s “Tackle Your Testing”
program that provided free health events across Florida including diagnostic testing, education, nutritious meals and more to
empower people to take control of their health.
Quest announced in July of 2021 the Tackle Your Testing program aimed to address the health disparities exacerbated by delayed
treatment or diagnosis during the COVID-19 pandemic. The program is open to anyone but focuses on communities who have been
disproportionately excluded from the healthcare system, including Black and Hispanic communities and those living in poverty.
Southeast Regional Medical Director, Dr. Andy Young, said the testing program, “addresses the large number of health disparities in
underserved communities that were further enlarged by delayed treatment or diagnosis during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our goal is
reducing the gap in healthcare made available to underserved populations and improve their overall health and wellbeing.”
Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back and philanthropist Warrick Dunn supported Quest
in its mission to connect with and educate at-risk populations about the importance of proactively
managing one's health. Warrick is attending Tackle Your Testing health events in each market.
“As a former Florida State University and the Tampa
Bay Buccaneers running back, I am very connected to
Tampa and Tallahassee as well as the entire state of
Florida,” said Dunn. “And, as an African American male
I am concerned about disparities caused by social
determinants of health that were magnified during the
pandemic. Working with Quest to help my community tackle their testing feels like an extension
of the right thing to do, so I am glad to call attention to this important subject.”
Thank you to all who helped make this first of many events a reality and such a success!
Success in Numbers
Thank you to Ami Bobilya, Strategic Account Executive, for sharing this amazing success story and showcasing just how team work
makes the dream work!
“Rocky Mount Family Medical Center is a CRL close that start with Quest in May 2021. This is one of the most coordinated efforts I have
worked on with Quest to date. The solution for this location included onsite testing supported by a greeter, 5 IOP’s and 2 on-site techs
currently averaging 190 requisitions a day. There were several nuances to on boarding this client and while there were challenges; this group
quickly adjusted, identifying improved service levels, workflow, and process. I am not surprised by the level of professionalism and
engagement this group exhibits but feel it is necessary to acknowledge the efforts that have righted this ship and delivered exceptional
service levels. Thank you to this group for the long days, nights, and tenacious work ethic. You all are the reason we are successful!”

SharePoint Modern UI is Coming…. Are You Ready?
As you may be aware, changes are coming to our digital workplace -- ourQuest online -- as we are actively making the transition
to SharePoint Modern UI, a whole new experience.
SharePoint Modern UI, the latest user experience for Microsoft Office 365 Business, offers features such as enhanced search as well as
making it easier to create beautiful, dynamic sites and pages. Pages will load faster, increasing efficiency in addition to having a consistent
look and feel.
The current classic SharePoint sites will sunset by March 31, 2022, which means that now is the time for community and project site
owners to take the time to evaluate their existing sites.
In the coming weeks, current site owners will be contacted in phases to begin the transition process, which includes requesting a new
SharePoint Modern site in order to be able to migrate existing content. Stay tuned for additional communications containing the tools,
resources, training, and support needed to make your transition as smooth and seamless as possible.
Read below for some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about this transition to SharePoint Modern UI:
1. Why are we moving to SharePoint Modern?
To fully leverage the power of collaboration and communication in Microsoft Teams. This move allows us to evolve to a fully integrated
and consistent experience across various office applications, i.e., Outlook, Yammer, Stream, etc.
2. What are the benefits of SharePoint Modern?
Some benefits of the Modern experience include:
• Superior and more user-friendly interface
• Optimized site performance (faster loading time)
• Enhanced integrated team sites
• Better features across libraries, lists and more
• Use of the built-in Microsoft Help (?) function for how to complete tasks
3. What features will we have in SharePoint Modern?
SharePoint Modern will have similar features to Classic; however, you will be able to access them faster and more easily. Instead of an
editing ribbon at the top of the page, editing options are available within the command bar. Easily copy and move files, change file
information, and access previews and more details. Also, efficiently sort, group and resize columns, and quickly create custom views.
4. Will the content be automatically moved to my SharePoint Modern site?
There is no technology to automatically re-create an existing classic site in the modern environment. Content migration is a manual
process. We will provide a Reference Guide that you can use to inventory site content for a planned transition.
5. What training will be available for SharePoint Modern?
We are currently creating training materials. As soon as these materials are ready, we will post them to the ourQuest Online Support site.
If you have additional questions regarding our transition to SharePoint Modern UI, visit the Modern UI Resources page on ourQuest Online
Support.

Our People on ourQuest Online
Jose Jimenez Molina is a Anatomic Pathology Support Supervisor at our Tampa Lab. Jose joined Quest in 2014 and did not
know how to speak English on his first day at work. "I still remember my first day at Quest, when I stepped into the anatomic
pathology distribution room. I had just arrived from Spain and I didn't know how to speak English. New language, new people,
new culture – I was scared. So, I started doing the only thing I knew how to do at that moment – work. I felt awkward when
people would come to talk to me, since most of the time I wasn't sure what they were saying. Sometimes I would exchange a
smile with someone and little by little I started socializing a bit more and started improving my English. I learned to speak
English at Quest. Thanks to my many colleagues that were patient with me and helped me learn the language!
"I am grateful for all the people who bet on me along the way, who helped me grow and made me feel at home. We have
always teamed up to get the work done that's how I believe we should continue to be. We should keep the motivation and the desire to get the
work done with an eye on every single person who is waiting anxiously in their homes for their results. This is the goal I strive to make possible.
To come to work every day and grow and spread the improvement to everybody else.
"I feel like the work we do at Quest is important. Every morning I come in and see the biopsies are waiting for results. I know those biopsies are
tied to a person and that person is waiting on the results, which can greatly impact their life.
"I was recently promoted into a new role and hope to embrace this new stage of my life with the same strength and enthusiasm that I had in the
beginning. Remembering always to exchange a smile with someone."
