Thank you for choosing TutorByDenise for your son’s SAT Math test preparation.
You have selected one-on-one online preparation sessions. Your son’s sessions will
take place in our virtual classroom zoom.us/2460782438. We are confident that you
will be very satisfied with the services that we offer.

Please review your Information Packet which includes: TutorByDenise’s procedures
and policies, SAT General Information Guide, and Payment information.
Additionally, a Syllabus and a mini SAT Math Pre-Test Quiz (to complete prior to
first class, allow 25 minutes for completion) is included. We will review the quiz
during his initial session.

• Each session will include review of concepts, key clues, and how to set
up problems and solve problems
• Each Math session will include a Math Test
• Each session will review his answer choices regarding session quizzes
• Each session will review any questions and/or concerns regarding daily
homework quizzes
• Session results will be compared to your goal as well as milestone
results
• Any adjustments to strategies and milestone goals will be reviewed

initial session Expectations
• Student will attend sessions on time
• Student will come prepared to learn
• Student will ask questions if he/she does not understand
• Student will take notes during session
• Student will complete daily 1hour homework and forward answers

Late and Cancellation Policy
• Please notify us at least two hours in advance if you are going to be late
• Please notify us of any cancellations at least 4 hours in advance
• Please call 404-939-3806 for notifications
• Failure to notify us will result in a fee of $20

Notification of Scheduled Sessions
• You will receive email notification one day reminder prior to scheduled
session
• You will receive text notification 2 hours prior to scheduled session

Payment Policy
• All payments are due prior to the session
• ‘Cash App, Google Pay, Cash, Credit, and Debit are the only forms of
acceptable payment
• Credit and Debit Card payments can be made by:
o Calling our secured credit card system at 404-939-3806
o Submitting payment at session,
o Completing Invoice Payment Form sent the day prior to session
o Completing Cash App, or Google Pay at start of session
• Your payment for each session is $100 (2-hour session)

Follow-Up
You will receive an analysis of your strengths and areas of opportunity after each
session. Additionally, you will receive recommendation(s) to help you score better on
the test as well as 1hr daily practice test.

The SAT has new scores and score reports, but the value of SAT scores in college
admission won’t change.

No Penalty for Guessing

You are no longer penalized for answering questions incorrectly —there’s no advantage
to leaving them blank.

Reported scores now include sub scores and cross-test scores. With these additional
scores, the SAT is better at highlighting your strengths and showing colleges that you’ve
been building the skills and knowledge you need for college and career.

Quick Facts

• Most math questions will be multiple choice (~45 questions), but some—
called grid-ins(~13 questions)— you have to solve the problem and write
the answer rather than select the answer.

• The Math Test is divided into two portions: Math Test–Calculator and Math
Test–No Calculator.

The Math Test will focus on the three areas of math:

• Heart of Algebra, which focuses on linear equations and systems.
• Problem Solving and Data Analysis, which is about being quantitatively

literate.
• Passport to Advanced Math, which features questions that require the

manipulation of complex equations.

These sub-topics are scored on a scale of 1-15 and contribute to the Math Test
score of 1-40 and Math area score of 200-800.

The Math Test also has Additional Topics in Math, including the geometry and
trigonometry most relevant to college and career readiness. This sub-topic
contributes to the Math area and Test scores but does not have a specific sub-
score.

It is important that you review the colleges of your choice admission scores. This will
give you an idea of the minimum score you can receive.
