about the cover I bought my first Nikon camera in 2017 with the encouragement of my High school friend who I met in the 1970’s. He came back into my life, opened my eyes and encouraged me to tap into my creative side. I will be so ever grateful for his kindness and patience through teaching me this beautiful art called photography. It is wonderful to see the world thorough a lens. I love composing the picture in my mind which is always teeming with ideas. I will sometimes choose unusual viewpoints and I wait awhile for the right light or dramatic clouds to appear at the perfect moment to enrich the scene. I like how I can influence mood through contrast and colour during my editing process on the computer. I truly enjoy photography so much! I find it to be exciting and rewarding, and I am always learning something new. My friend and mentor died of cancer in 2021. Treat your friends as you treat your pictures, and place them in their best light. February 2024 Issue 22 Debbie Mcdonald The Stage is Set In the intimate glow of the dimly lit small stage, a lone guitar rested on its stand, its polished body reflecting the soft light. Beside it, an empty stool seemed to yearn for the presence of an indie artist, waiting patiently for the soulful melodies that would soon fill the air. The hushed anticipation lingered, enveloping the stage in a silent embrace, as if the very essence of music held its breath, eager for the artist to make their mark. A tip jar stood nearby, a humble offering to the talent that would grace the stage. The anticipation in the air seemed to dance with the potential for connection between the artist and the audience. The stage, though modest in size, held the promise of a unique and intimate experience, where the strings of the guitar were poised to weave a tapestry of emotions that would resonate in the hearts of those fortunate enough to witness the indie artist’s performance. And Debbie Macdonald captured all this in one shot. Thank you Debbie, JohnK More from Debbie Lake Spirits Sandy lake also known as “Lake Spirits” is located in Lakehurst Ontario, Canada. On a sunny day you can see a large beautiful heart shaped rock that lies on the bottom of the lake, known as “Giants Heart”. This rock glows with a peculiar purplish hue. First Nations claim that on days when the lake is perfectly calm, ripples form about the great stone. They claim that these ripples are pulsations from the heart-shaped stone. This lake is land-locked and has no feeder river. Water flows out of the lake and down Sandy Creek to Buckhorn lake.

Introduction: The 1970s was a decade that reverberated with the sounds of change, rebellion, and cultural evolution. Against the backdrop of political upheaval, social movements, and technological advancements, the music of the era emerged as a powerful force that not only reflected the spirit of the times but also left an indelible mark on the world stage. In this article, we delve into the multifaceted impact of 70s music on global culture, exploring its influence across continents and generations. The Rise of Rock ‘n’ Roll: From Rebellion to Mainstream The 1970s witnessed the consolidation of rock ‘n’ roll as a dominant cultural force, with bands like Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, and Pink Floyd reaching the zenith of their creative powers. With their electrifying performances and boundary-pushing music, these artists captivated audiences around the world and became symbols of rebellion and youth culture. Their influence transcended borders, inspiring generations of musicians and shaping the trajectory of popular music for decades to come. Disco Fever: A Global Phenomenon While rock music dominated the airwaves, the 1970s also saw the meteoric rise of disco music as a global phenomenon. Originating in the underground clubs of New York City, disco quickly spread its infectious beats and glamorous aesthetics to dance floors around the world. Artists like Donna Summer, Bee Gees, and Gloria Gaynor became synonymous with the disco era, creating anthems that not only topped the charts but also defined an entire cultural movement. Disco’s influence extended beyond music, permeating fashion, film, and nightlife, and leaving an indelible mark on popular culture. Global Fusion: The Sounds of Diversity The 1970s marked a period of unprecedented cultural fusion in music, as artists drew inspiration from diverse traditions and genres from around the world. Bands like Santana blended rock with Latin rhythms, while artists like Bob Marley introduced reggae to international audiences. This cross-pollination of musical styles not only enriched the global music landscape but also fostered greater appreciation and understanding of different cultures and traditions. Political Protest: Music as a Catalyst for Change Amidst the social and political upheaval of the 1970s, music emerged as a powerful tool for protest and dissent. Artists like Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, and John Lennon used their music to amplify voices of resistance and call for social justice. Songs like Dylan’s “The Times They Are A-Changin’,” Baez’s “We Shall Overcome,” and Lennon’s “Imagine” became anthems of hope and solidarity for movements advocating for civil rights, peace, and environmental conservation. Legacy and Influence: A Timeless Soundtrack The music of the 1970s continues to resonate with audiences across generations, its influence evident in contemporary music and popular culture. From classic rock anthems to disco dancefloor fillers, from protest songs to global fusion experiments, the sounds of the 70s continue to inspire and captivate listeners worldwide. As we look back on this era, we are reminded of the enduring power of music to transcend boundaries, unite diverse cultures, and shape the course of history. Conclusion: The music of the 1970s stands as a testament to the creativity, diversity, and resilience of artists who dared to challenge conventions and push boundaries. From rock ‘n’ roll rebels to disco divas, from protest singers to cultural ambassadors, the music of the era transcended borders and connected people across continents. As we celebrate the legacy of 70s music, we are reminded of its timeless appeal and its enduring impact on the world stage. The Enduring Impact of 70s Music on the Global Stage

Harmony in Health: A Guide to Caring for Your Throat Before Singing Introduction: For singers, the health of the vocal instrument is paramount to delivering pitch-perfect performances. The throat, being the gateway to your melodic expression, requires special attention and care. In this guide, we explore essential tips and practices for looking after your throat before singing, ensuring that your vocal cords are primed and ready to hit the high notes with ease. Hydration is Key: The foundation of vocal health lies in staying wellhydrated. Adequate water intake helps maintain the mucous membranes in your throat, preventing dryness and irritation. Opt for room temperature or warm water, and avoid excessive consumption of caffeine and alcohol, as they can contribute to dehydration. Warm-Up Exercises: Just as you would warm up your muscles before a workout, your vocal cords benefit from warm-up exercises. Gentle humming, sirens, and lip trills can help ease your voice into a singing session, promoting flexibility and reducing strain. Steam Therapy: Steam inhalation is a soothing practice that can provide relief to your vocal cords. Inhale steam for about 10-15 minutes before singing to hydrate your throat and alleviate any tension. You can enhance the experience by adding a few drops of essential oils like eucalyptus or chamomile. Avoid Vocal Strain: Vocal strain can lead to long-term damage, so it’s crucial to be mindful of your singing technique. Avoid pushing your voice too hard, especially in high or low registers. Practice good breath control, and if you feel any discomfort, take breaks to allow your vocal cords to rest. Maintain a Balanced Diet: A well-balanced diet contributes to overall health, and your vocal cords are no exception. Foods rich in vitamins A, C, and E can support vocal health. Honey and ginger tea is a soothing option, providing relief to the throat and minimizing inflammation.it Vocal Stressors: Certain substances can irritate the vocal cords. Limit or avoid smoking and exposure to secondhand smoke, as they can be detrimental to your vocal health. Additionally, be cautious with excessive caffeine and spicy foods, which can contribute to acid reflux and irritation. Mind Your Breathing: Proper breathing technique is crucial for singers. Engage in diaphragmatic breathing to ensure that your breath support is optimal. Shallow breathing can lead to tension in the throat and vocal strain. Humidify Your Environment: Dry air can be harsh on the vocal cords. Consider using a humidifier, especially in environments with low humidity levels. This helps maintain the moisture balance in your throat and prevents it from drying out. Rest and Recovery: Just as your muscles need time to recover after exercise, your vocal cords require periods of rest. Adequate sleep is crucial for vocal health, so ensure you get enough rest to allow your body, including your throat, to recover fully. Seek Professional Guidance: If you experience persistent throat issues or discomfort, it’s advisable to seek the guidance of a professional vocal coach or a speech-language pathologist. They can provide personalized advice, vocal exercises, and techniques to address specific concerns and enhance your vocal performance. Conclusion: Caring for your throat before singing is not just about hitting the right notes; it’s about preserving the longevity and health of your vocal instrument. By incorporating these practices into your routine, you can ensure that your throat is a well-tuned instrument, ready to deliver harmonious melodies with clarity and ease. Remember, a healthy throat contributes not only to better singing but to your overall well-being as a vocal artist. JohnK - Radiodowntown.ca
Originally from backwoods of South Western Ontario, brought up in the US and now residing in the UK. Bringing Anthemic Country Rock + Pop vibes. Select listeners in Canada and the US described the five track Ep as ‘Melodic hooks of Keith Urban, mixed with The Cadillac Three’ amongst others. Influences are far and wide Neil Young (else you aint Canadian) , Ryan Bingham, Randy Rogers, but we all love Merle, Willie and Waylon too! Born out of the spare time Covid brought us all, the 5 song EP was born on a home studio and grew from there. Running out tracks from the EP acoustically at smaller gigs has been a great growth curve for when the whole band is together, and the songs sound massive!!! Can’t wait to get the EP out to everyone ‘Country Strong’ released on all media platforms, and 4 more singles from the upcoming ep) to follow early in 2024. Mark Mulhearn With music in his blood, Jamie began playing at an early age entertaining people on the streets of his hometown Carlow, in Ireland. With a hunger to learn, grow and follow in the footsteps of the great musical tradition, he paid his dues across Ireland, on streets, in bars, pubs, clubs and theatres. Playing daily on the streets, he learned to engage an audience and grab their attention while also making enough money to move on to the next town. With all day busking followed by nighttime gigs, his stamina, experience, and repertoire grew exponentially, making him a true old school troubadour. Exploring songwriting, he found his true voice and over the course of 11 solo and band albums he has grown in his expression and feel. His songs make people dance and sing while also having the ability to turn a phrase that will linger in the mind long after the concert has ended. With his 8th and boldest studio album Magistrala, Jamie is stepping up to bring the music to an even bigger audience. Using Bulgaria’s legendary National Radio Studio (BNR), Jamie has surrounded himself with the finest musicians, including industry veteran Jeff Groves (Fastball, The Small Stars) and session drummer Borcheto Boyadzhiev. Drawing on influences ranging from Van Morrison, the Smiths, Paul Simon, U2, Maya Angelou, Tom Waits, Van Gogh, Pollock and many many more, Magistrala is not only a meditation on life’s journey, but also a rocking and rolling exploration of popular music through the lens of an Irish rambling musical soul. The new album will be released in March 2024 and is going to be a leap forward in his endless musical journey. Solo or backed by the band, Jamie engages the audience and makes music a celebration of life not to be missed! Jamie Mcdonald

The idea for this comic series started years ago as part of a drawing spate. Stoneheart, the artist, has been a lifelong trained fine artist. KARMA the Kat appeared as a fanciful creature... just appeared, like all great art does. Inspired. And became several sketches over the years. The decision to turn KARMA the Kat into a comic was a collaborative one with a professional art director, Stoneheart was persuaded to explore some comic themes. All the panels are digitally hand drawn - every little bit of them! This is critical as it is, first and foremost, ART! We have over one hundred in the catalogue and are presently working on reels, short videos, and books. There are hundreds of online apps for making comics similarly there are thousands of stock photo libraries, clip art and musical loops for example. Creativity and originality are the most important driving factors in KARMA the Kat! Well, and making you chuckle of course! New Zealand singer-songwriter David Curtis is set to enrapture audiences with his upcoming Valentine’s Day promotion of “After All These Years,” a profoundly personal song that delves into the intricate tapestry of a 40-year love story. The soul-stirring ballad, composed and penned by Curtis himself, serves as a poignant tribute to his wife, Pauline, offering listeners an intimate glimpse into the couple’s enduring love and shared journey through life. “We have three sons, noisy, energetic boys, and the two older boys had just moved out. One was on an athletic scholarship in the U.S., and the other was living in another city working for the NZ government. The house was very quiet with the boys gone, and it was very much a case of ‘Empty Nest’ going on for both Pauline & I,” Curtis reveals. Recorded primarily in his home studio, Curtis collaborated with top Nashville session musicians, who recorded their parts online, adding a touch of musical finesse to the heartfelt lyrics. The result is a melodic and emotionally charged composition that resonates with authenticity. “After All These Years” is not merely a song; it is a narrative of enduring love, common values, and companionship. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of the shared experiences, ups and downs, joys, and heartaches that define a long-lasting relationship. Curtis explains, “It’s a story of how real love overcomes life’s trials, how we grow stronger together through these trials, and how, after all this time, two best friends still belong together.” “After All These Years” marks a milestone in David Curtis’ illustrious career, adding another layer of depth to his repertoire of emotionally charged compositions. With its soulful melody and heartfelt lyrics, the song is poised to resonate with audiences around the world, offering a universal message of love and resilience. The single is available for streaming on all major platforms, the perfect Valentine’s Day love song. Welcome to my music. You are invited to listen to some songs that I have written over the years. Writing songs and playing them is one of my favorite things to do. It is a way to balance my moods and emotions. It helps me to relax and deal with things that happen to me or around me. Many of the songs, but not all of them, have to do with my very own experiences. Some have to do with other people´s lives and some are merely fictional. I address people who may relate to the words and music that I have written. Then the song that originally only had a meaning for me suddenly gets a meaning for them. That´s always a very special thing to me. So I offer my music to those who somehow feel like I feel. Thank you for listening! Media Information 12 January 2024 Paul Etterlin 2000 songs as a session musician, countless appearances at home and abroad, and a chair as Professor of Music at the Hochschule Luzern and now the third single from soloalbum number 7 - all these factors contribute to Paul Etterlin being a vastly experienced musician with an incredibly broad musical spectrum! In the 1980s, Paul decided to pursue a Degree in Classical Guitar at the Lucerne Conservatoire although he would have much preferred to be a close-up witness of American rock history when heroes of the rock guitar mushroomed in droves. As a solo artist or with his own bands, Paul Etterlin belongs to the busy set of Swiss guitarists, singers and songwriters. He composed the official song of the Swiss Team for the Vancouver Winter Olympics, and his rendition of Mittendrin is the theme tune of one of the biggest TV sports channels in Germany - Sport1. In addition, his song «Silver Machines» accompanies the whole MotoGP series. Harry Kappen – ‘One Life’. ‘One Life’ is the new single-release by Harry Kappen. ‘One Life’ is from the new full-length album of the same name that will be available early next year. After a very successful year 2023 with almost 140,000 hits for ‘Not all of us agreed’ and more than 220,000 hits for ‘The Freedom Inside’ on Spotify, it will be a new eclectic album with 11 songs; from ballad to rock, from funk to pop. The single ‘One Life’ is a heartbreaking ballad that will fit perfectly into the atmosphere of contemplation in this time of year. While the world is on fire; war in Ukraine, war in the Middle East, climate change, confusion among people about what is fake and what is real, Harry longs for love, light, connection and warmth. Harry Kappen is an independant Dutch musician and music therapist. He is an experienced musician, a multi-instrumentalist, who played in many bands in the Netherlands and as a producer he worked with a lot of Dutch popbands. Since he was young he composed hundreds of songs, for his own bands or just for fun and sometimes for events or for Dutch television. Harry is an admirer of David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Prince, Radiohead, Scandinavian pop music by Bjork, Motorpsycho and a lot more. Sometimes their music reflects in Harry’s eclectic music. HK plays, writes and produces his music by himself in his home studio. As a music therapist HK helps youngsters and adolescents to cope with a variety of problems in a institution for youth care; problems caused bij development disorders or/and behaviour disorders. The fact that he is a multi-instrumentalist comes very handy in his work as music therapist; it’s important to be able to connect musically with a client quite quickly on every instrument. Also he helps families who are struggeling with disfunctional paterns. Music therapy is a great way to make these paterns audible and curable. Besides his work as music therapist he works as a lecturer on an international master’s degree in music therapy in Rotterdam in the Netherlands (Codarts). Website: www.harrykappen.com
Trevor Gear A short bio I am a mature singer/songwriter and I have been composing songs since I was a teenager. It was always my dream to achieve commercial success, but having said that, I love the whole process of creating a song from effectively nothing so I will always write with or without success. I record my songs at home and like most musicians I guess, I passionately believe that my music can become commercially successful and give folks pleasure and inspiration in the process. I was elated when I heard from Julia at Radio Downtown that I was to be interviewed by JohnK on 22nd January on his “Toast & Jam” show. Better yet, some 6 of my songs will be played during the show and hopefully afterwards on the station on the shows dedicated to Indie Artists. So yes, I am excited at the prospect of my music being given access to Radio Downtown’s audiences around the world. I also look forward to hopefully visiting Radio Downtown in person in the not too distant future, and to meeting JohnK and Julia and their colleagues who are all doing such great things for independent artists. https://www.facebook.com/greatrovermusic Spotify - search Trevor Gear YouTube - search Trevor Gear Soundcloud - search Trevor Gear or Trevor e Twitter - @trevorgear New from the KERR DONNELLY BAND “A MILLION YEARS (K.Donnelly/L.Beddow) (C) K.D.M.L Records 2024 The Song is a brand new song and will be on our Forthcoming 39th Album to be released Spring 2024 The Song will be released to Soundclick And Worldwide on 1st January 2024 It will be available on all major Digital Music Platforms Look out for Some New Releases coming your way throughout 2024 Kerr Donnelly Band K.D.M.L Records K.D.M.L Music Keep it Original Productions B.C.M.A Member I.S.S.A Member Americana Music Association Member UK https://www.facebook.com/kerr.donnelly https://www.facebook.com/kerr.donnelly.band https://soundclick.com/kerrdonnellyband https://open.spotify.com/artist/1CtrFn6hxfrv9DB6w77iuj?si=DAD8y2ITQ-q9t4YWm19_PA Check out Kerr Donnelly Band on Amazon Music https://music.amazon.co.uk/artists/B0060GHSQ2?ref=dm_sh_0ZAWxOkL0U2eFWd51p1Ysh31t https://music.apple.com/gb/artist/kerr-donnelly-band/476483930

2 New York based musician Totten Bridge released his emotionally charged track, ‘Better Than Me’, on the 13th of October via StephJam Music. Unbound by genre, and defined by an endless and experimental artistic pursuit, the multifaceted artist has garnered over 1.5 million streams across all platforms, as well as publication support from the likes of Notion Mag, Earmilk, Backseat Mafia, and Medium. Totten Bridge was first introduced to music through his grandfather’s record store. After taking records home to listen to after school, he eventually discovered the acoustic guitar, training himself to translate the music and melodies in his head into existence. Despite being influenced by the likes of Sam Fender, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Coldplay, and Imagine Dragons, his music is eclectic and enigmatic- refusing to be pigeonholed into one specific genre. Relying on infectious melodies and tight musical arrangements that culminate in anthemic singalong choruses, Totten Bridge’s music could be best described as Rock, with British and American influences that incorporate pop, folk, motown, and even EDM at times. Focusing on themes of love and life, his lyrics are relatable in their concise directness, with the ultimate goal of resonating with each listener personally on an emotional level. ‘Better Than Me’ pulls on the heartstrings while simultaneously invoking a subtle foot-tap that is hard to resist. It’s got a catchy and irresistible allure, with a real-anthemic and concert-focused sound. As Totten Bridge digs deep, laying his heart on the table, there’s a real sense of emotion encapsulated into the song. Featuring his usual guitar prowess amidst subtle piano melodies and synth effects, it explores the realization we all inevitably have to face when we know a relationship is coming to an end. Sometimes we have to reconcile ourselves with the fact that not everything works out, and Totten Bridge expresses this sentiment with the utmost precision, as he awakes from an ethereal slumber to realize all is not as it seems. It’s a song with an emotional motif despite its up-beat and inspiring instrumental, evoking images of pop-rock groups like Imagine Dragons or Bastille. However, the overarching message is a positive one, as all these hardships are simply opportunities for us to grow. Totten Bridge had this to say: ‘Better Than Me’ is a song about facing the hard truth that sometimes life and love do not work out like planned. Sometimes it takes a while to figure it out because you’re in denial but in the crystallization of the moment, it suddenly becomes very clear and you know that you have to move on. These fateful moments are necessary for our growth even if they’re painful because as the saying goes, “no pain, no gain.” LINK TREE: FACEBOOK: SOUNDCLOUD: YOUTUBE: SPOTIFY: TOTTEN BRIDGE
Like so many artists, T. Jae started his music career at an early age, and by the time he moved to Nashville, he was a seasoned entertainer, and on his way to becoming an established song writer. He put his performing aside for a while to pursue writing and record production. Before long, his songs were being recorded by such artist as: Roy Orbison, Nat Stucky, Charlie Pride, Jeanne Pruitt,T. Graham Brown, (blue grass great) Jimmy Martin, and many independents. Due to his friendship, association and guidance of the legendary Producer, Owen Bradley, T. Jae has also become an outstanding producer. In the late 1980’s, as the music was going in different directions (no longer traditional country) he formed his own label (Universal Sound Records) to make an outlet for the many great older artist that were being cast aside for the new movement. After establishing himself as a viable artist and producer in the European marketplace, he released such fine Indie artist as: Mary Lee, Pat Roden, Rick Sharp, Harley Cummins, Paul Alan coons Ralph Parker, Mindy Miller, and as of late, the great T. Graham Brown, who he is currently producing on Universal Sound Records. T. Jae is currently touring with Blue Grass Great, Doyle Lawson & Quick Silver. T. Jae has performed with many great artists: George Jones, Buck Owens, Ray Price, Conway Twitty, Roy Acuff, Ferlin Husky, Jimmy Martin, Johnny Paycheck, lefty Frizzell, to name a few. He has toured Europe playing to sold out venues every place he performed. The European market has been great to T. Jae with awards such as: Artist and producer of the year, many #1 releases and albums of the year. In 2009, he recorded his first country gospel album, spawning four #1 singles, and a video (This Is Where Jesus Would Go) which was nominated in the top four with Alan Jackson, Carrie Underwood, and Tracy Lawrence. T. Jae is quick to credit all his success to the great musicians, song writers, and fans around the world but most of all the DJ’s that really make the wheels turn, for it is they who get the music to the people! If you get a chance to come to any of his shows, he is most happy to meet and greet and spend time with his fans, so treat yourselves to a great show and fellowship. And of course, his music is available on all digital platforms. Radio, ah...so soothing. My first recollection of the radio was the small transistor that I used to have for my room. I was in my world listening to the sounds that it emitted. Mine had the little leather casing and to this day, I can still remember the smell that came from that heavenly device. It was a warm, electrical smell that to this day can calm me when I think of it. I spent most of my evening time listening to all the latest and greatest Top 40 tunes being played over and over again. The playlist was that of many artists, Motown being the one I remember the most. Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gay with Tammi Terrell. I can still hear The Temptations harmonizing and I could picture them in my mind doing their dance routines in the tapered pipe slacks that all adorned for the times. I listened to all the broken heart songs and the ones where they try to win you back. No one could touch me in that little music infested world, I was under its spell. The batteries would die and I would be in tears. I had to have that daily fix, similar to that of one who needs coffee. With new batteries installed,I was alive again. That little radio was with me for many years and helped me through so many turbulent times. It was my way of escaping the bad, even if it was for just a few notes. It was always a relaxing moment and a great accompaniment to me. It kept away the monsters under my childhood bed (I pretended that monsters were afraid of music). Our local stations used to sign off at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings and then began to transmit again at 6:00 a.m. The last time I remember listening on that beautiful AM device, I had dropped it on the concrete. It was replaced with a larger version. It wasn’t the same. Analog has become digital and listening is now in your car or by internet.I cannot remember the last time I actually took the time out to listen to the local stations here. MP3s have taken over and now you “plug-in” via a stick in your car or you use your phone with a blue tooth connection to stream. Some say it’s simplified but I disagree. Simple was taking it with you on your wrist strap. Hanging it on the handlebars of your Schwinn. Propping it up on the bannister of your front porch on a warm summer evening. THAT, my friends, was simple. The best way to describe what I felt was through Karen Carpenter’s sweet voice singing, “Yesterday Once More”. She nailed it, plain and simple. Keyword: simple Radio, ah... so soothing. Submitted by Pamela Morgan Big appreciation to Pamela Morgan for her submission of this article. Pamela and JohnK have been friends for a long time, and her expertise in music is unparalleled.
ABOUT THE SONG Taynee wrote the lyrically brutal, upbeat song “You Think You’re All That” when she was a teenager about a friendship turned sideways. It’s filled with the reasons behind the blissfully unaware toxic friendship ending as the trust couldn’t be rebuilt. Writing this song was Taynee’s way of getting out her emotions. The song directly addresses the ex-friend giving them a reality check, hitting some home truths. It’s all the words she could never express to the person’s face. The single was recorded with Rockfield Studio engineer Tim Lewis and Tom Meighan’s (Kasabian) producer Ross Rothero- Bourge. BIOGRAPHY Among the clang of electric guitars Taynee Lord sits upon her vocal throne of country twang, giving you music from sunsets and highways from Bristol to Nashville. Since releasing her debut EP in 2019, her single ‘No God Of Mine’ charted at #1 in the iTunes U.K. Country Music Charts. Resulting in the honour to perform for Glastonbury Festival’s Michael Eavis at The Pilton Stage. Taynee’s music has captured the attention of radio stations in the UK, USA and around the world and has been admired by BBC Introducing, even featuring as BBC Upload's Live Band of the Week. In 2022 Taynee’s music was successful at The Simply Country Radio awards, winning Best Song of the Year with her single “Love Moves like a Train’ and was also honoured to take home The People’s Choice Award. Last year included Taynee and her band supporting Scouting for Girls at multiple festivals around the UK. They headlined the 2022’s Glastonbury Calling Festival amongst many other festival appearances. 2023 performances included multiple festivals, Glastonbury Abbey, supporting boy band Blue along with her new single ‘Love Hard’ being played on over a hundred radio stations worldwide. Taynee Lord continues to be a rising force amidst the burgeoning British Country Music Scene with her transmitting connection to the roots of Americana. “You Think You’re All That” NEW SINGLE RELEASE DATE 1st NOVEMBER 2023 Listen Here / PRE SAVE HERE Contact Website Music Socials Spotify Download MP3 & Artwork
Sandra North Sandra North live at the legendary Maui Sugar Mill in Los Angeles Sweden’s very own country queen Sandra North has returned to L.A and made her first live appearance back at Maui Sugar Mill. With her original songwriting partner and producer, Juan Abella, by her side again, the two of them performed all of their original songs off of the “Long Time Coming” EP (2021) as well as the more recent singles “Gone” and “Shore Thing”. Pictures taken by Swedish photographer, Annika Wiman Krafve. Next up, you can catch Sandra North at the new up and coming country venue Desert 5 Spot in Hollywood on January 30th 2024. Stay tuned for more updates.
Sweden’s up and coming country artist Sandra North follows on previous critical acclaim with the release of the brand new single ‘Shore Thing’ with fellow country artist Jimmy Marcus. This is the first time the two have joined forces and together they deliver a crossover country/pop duet with the potential to spark global interest. Having spent much of her musical career in the States, Sandra North is a country artist with a story and a voice. She first made major inroads onto the scene back in 2019 with debut single ‘Try Again’ and the 6 song EP titled ‘Long Time Coming’. Last year’s ‘Gone’ also further enhanced her growing reputation, earning her several spots in festival lineups across the home country of Sweden. Jimmy Marcus the self-proclaimed “pop guy from Gothenburg” adds a brilliant crossover mainstream vibe, pairing nicely with Sandra North’s rock-country soundscape. Originally a part of the Youngblood group, Jimmy Marcus later delved into the heart of the country genre through his solo career and delivered the standout ‘New Beginning’, whilst his latest release ‘Stars’ is putting him on the map further. “Shore Thing” captures that sweet summer love feeling and takes us on a hopeful and heartfelt journey, exploring all the emotions of a summer crush that fades at the break of fall. We are so thrilled to finally be doing a project together seeing as our artistic styles are very similar. This song was just the perfect fit”. Together, Marcus and North deliver a heartfelt country anthem that is brilliantly influenced by the pop and country world. Intertwined with organic lyricism and a guitar-driven backdrop ‘Shore Thing’ is that song that will hit you right in the feels and have you daydreaming about that summer love you once held on to. https://www.sandranorthofficial.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sandranorth_official/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sandranorthmusic/ Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/ artist/2SECA2fAvjoC4oFQzE9GAE Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/ UCYqpnYQsl0J36UiNiPC4F2A?view_as=subscriber Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/user-902974436 Twitter: https://twitter.com/SandraN26815009 SANDRA NORTH & JIMMY MARCUS Present The New Single “Shore Thing”

The Sensations EP spans six tracks and throughout those tracks, you get a bit of a wide array of rock styles, and to me, the energy that’s given off through the course of the record makes it an arena rock approach and it’s all done with this excellent balance dynamically between that harder edge and this more soulful and floating undertone that’s mostly given from the vocals. One of the things that becomes most addicting about this record are the lyrics because each one takes you through a little bit of a different story told from a little bit of a different perspective, but it all feels very personal.** Ever since the evolution of rock bands dating back to the 1950s, youth has felt moved by their presence. Rock bands like Delphi Ravens have proven bliss for many, as their performances create a moment of relief among the audience. Many studies have proven that the performances of rock bands have a therapeutic effect on the souls of the general populace. The process used in certain performances makes one realize that sufferings are evident in every person’s life, and they are not alone in a certain situation. Apart from this, many have felt the release of substantial aggression through such performances.* *Excerpt from Cali Post article, Aug. 24, 2023 **Excerpt from Recording Artists Guild Digital Magazine article, Nov. 1, 2023

B`ee grew up around the suburbs of Düsseldorf in Germany. During her younger years she would sing and entertain her school friends who we´re captivated by her soulful voice. She later found herself being approached by various local bands, requesting her to try out for the position of lead vocalist. Although B’ee still didn´t really recognize her abilities, she gained a lot more confidence after performing at several live events. In 2020, B’ee formed the band Sounds of Silence along with guitarist/percussionist, Sven Neukranz and lead guitarist, Heinz Schäfer. The trio created acoustic arrangements of their favorite songs built around Bee’s deep and expressive soulful voice. Sounds of Silence went on to record a number of tracks, and their cover version of the Iyeoka Okoawo song ‘Simply Falling’ picked up extensive worldwide radio airplay. In 2022, B’ee was approached by renowned blues-rock guitarist, Mick Simpson, with a view to establishing her as a solo artist and recording an album of original material, straying away from the cover versions that she had previously done, with this in mind she formed a working relationship with Simpson, along with producer Andy Littlewood, and the three of them started collaborating on tracks for her forthcoming album. The first single ‘Shut the World Away’, was released on the 30th of May, the second single “Slow Moving Train” was released on the 15th of June, and both are available to download and stream on all major platforms.

They’re hot, sizzling, fun and funky. In the great tradition of Motown, showstopping Ottawa 12-piece The Commotions, consisting of three lead vocalists and five horn players, create original 70s-inspired soul songs with a nod to Tower of Power, Chicago and the Supremes, all the way up to current pop chart-toppers Bruno Mars and Michael Bublé. Assembled and conceived by musical director and tenor saxophonist Brian Asselin, a one-time member of Detroit legends The Funk Brothers, the Commotion’s third album, appropriately titled Volume 3 (out Oct. 20), is the one destinated to expand their career across Canada and beyond. From the groovy lead track and first single “Feel The Commotion” to happy sitcom-sound of “Love In The Fast Lane,” rockin’ funk of “Backseat Love” and impassioned duet “Where Does The Love Go?” — plus a re-recording of their 2020 signature song, “New Suit” — the snazzy ensemble is a blast from the past with a look to dancefloor’s future. “Typically, we’re writing pop tunes. That’s what Motown is, pop tunes with a jazz element,” says Brian, who co-wrote and produced most of the songs on Volume 3 with his childhood friends Alex Mastronardi and the band’s co-vocalist Jeff Rogers. The Commotions’ Rebecca Noelle (lead vocals); newest member Mackenzie Di Millo (lead vocals), who joined in 2018; and David Gaw (guitar) also have writing credits.
