UNIT 1- EXPRESSION HOPE AND WISH.
 Persamaan Hope dan Wish dalam arti Bahasa Indonesia.

Hope dan Wish jika diterjemahkan dalam bahasa Indonesia sebenarnya
memiliki arti yang sama yakni berharap, harap , mau atau ingin. Namun ,
penggunaannya dalam konteks bahasa Inggris ternyata ada perbedaan yang
mesti kalian ketahui agar tidak salah dalam mengungkapkan keinginan, harapan
atau impian kalian.

 Perbedaan Penggunaan Hope dan Wish.

Hope adalah kata yang digunakan untuk harapan atau keinginan yang
realistis (mungkin) terjadi baik di masa sekarang maupun di masa akan datang.

Wish adalah kata yang digunakan untuk harapan atau keinginan yang tidak
realistis atau tidak mungkin terjadi baik dimasa sekarang ataupun dimasa yang
akan datang.

A. Expression of Hope (Ungkapan harapan)

Cara untuk menggunakan expression of hope dalam kalimat atau percakapan :

1. I + Hope + Subjek + Verb (kata kerja)
For examples :
 I hope you pass the exam ( saya harap kamu lulus ujian)
 I hope you win the competition (saya berharap kamu memenangkan
kompetisi itu)
 I hope you enjoy my video (saya harap kamu menikmati video saya).

2. I + hope + that + Subjek + will, can + verb ( Kata kerja).
For examples :
 I hope that I can help you (saya berharap bahwa saya dapat
membantumu).
 I hope that you can go with me (saya berharap bahwa kamu dapat
pergi denganku)
 I hope that you will subscribe my channel (saya berharap kamu akan
berlangganan dengan channel saya)

3. I + Hope + to + verb (kata kerja)
For examples :
 I hope to see you again (saya berharap untuk berjumpa denganmu
lagi)
 I hope to study together tomorrow (Saya berharap untuk belajar
besok)
 I hope to go to Mecca with my family (Saya beharap untuk ke
mekah dengan keluarga saya).

B. Expression of Wish

Cara untuk menggunakan expression of wish dalam kalimat atau percakapan:

1. I + wish + I + were + adjective (kata sifat) atau noun ( kata benda).
For examples:
o I wish I were more beautiful (saya berharap saya lebih cantik),
(faktanya: tidak cantik, dan itu tidak realistis)
o I wish I were you (saya berharap saya kamu), (faktanya : tidak
mungkin).
o I wish I were a superman ( saya berharap saya seorang superman),
(faktanya: tidak realistis).

2. I + wish + you + noun (kata benda)
For examples:
o I wish You are lucky (saya berharap kamu beruntung)
o I wish you successfully (saya berharap kamu sukses)
o I wish you get happily (saya berharap kamu bahagia)

3. I + wish + I + could (dapat)/had + v3/verb2
For examples:
 I wish I could pass the exam (saya berharap saya dapat lulus
ujian),(faktanya: tidak mungkin karena dia tidak lulus dalam ujian
itu)).
 I wish I had won the game(saya berharap telah memenangkan
permainan itu ), (faktanya: tidak mungkin terjadi, karena dia telah
kalah dalam permainan itu).
 I wish I got much money (saya berharap saya mendapat uang
banyak),(faktanya: dia tidak dapat uang banyak).

C. Expression of Congaratulation
Cara untuk menggunakan expression of congratulation dalam kalimat atau
percakapan:
1. Congratulation for being + noun (kata benda)
For examples:
 Congratulation for being the best student in the class (selamat k
menjadi murid terbaik di kelas).
 Congratulation for being the winner in English speaking
Competition(selamat menjadi pemenang dalam kompetisi berbicara
bahasa Inggris).

2. Congratulation for + verb-ing (kata kerja”sedang”).
For examples:
 Congratulations for winning the game (selamat atas
kemenanganmu di game tersebut)
 Congratulation for completing your study(selamat atas
keberhasilanmu menyelesaikan pendidikannya)
 Congratulation for having the best score (selamat atas
keberhasilannya mendapat nilai terbaik).
