The wooden lid with a border of Rose Gold fruiting Mulberries surrounding a gold
presentation plate engraved with crest and dedication to
DAVID HODGKINSON of ATHERTON

with the information that the box wood was taken from the Old Mulberry tree at
Atherton Hall.

The edges and corners chased with scrolls and flowers and leaves on the lip.
The gold box lining similarly inscribed on the inside of the lid.
