Snapshot Autobiography Rough Draft

Title of your Autobiography

____________________________________________________

You are a part of history and your story matters.

A “snapshot” is a quick description and illustration that offers people from the
outside a better understanding of the topic or person. You will create your own
“snapshot” to tell the story of your life so people can have a better understanding
of you. In this rough draft, you will share 3 events that you feel have shaped your
life and are important in telling YOUR story. You must choose 3 events (a list of
ideas is provided below). Write a brief (short) narrative explaining what happened
and why you felt this day/event was important enough to share. Make sure that
your narrative has plenty of details as possible such as: who was there, what was
happening, and what you experienced and felt at the time. It is important that your
history is told from your perspective only, so do not ask anyone what they
remembered or share anyone else’s perspective about your chosen events. You will
use this rough draft later on for a digital project that the teacher will review at a
later date

Snapshot Event Ideas:

First Day of School The story of your Birth Receiving a Big Award or
First Time on an Airplane Achievement Recognition

Traveling to Someplace Trying a new sport or activity
New/A memorable Big Trip

A time when you met Your favorite day ever What life for you was like
someone famous (musician, when Covid closed schools

athlete. actor/actress)

Directions: For each of your chosen events, create a title, and write a detailed
narrative about the experience in the box on the left. In the box on the right,
create or describe the picture that is connected to the event . This picture will
help you in your project later on.

Reminders:

• Later on, you will be interviewing another person about one of these events so make sure to
pick at least one event that someone else knows about or experienced with you. Be sure to
remember that y ou will not ask them before you write your rough draft, you will ask them
after the project is done.

• For each of these three events, write a narrative (story) describing what happened. Make sure
you describe it in a way that whoever is reading your narrative will understand the event as if
they were there. B e sure to include details!

• Explain or provide a sketch on how you plan to illustrate each event in the open space on the
right.
