ABOUT US

Department of Computer Engineering and Information Technology was
established in the year 1997, with the objective of imparting quality education
in the field of Computer Engineering. With rapidly evolving technology and the
continuous need for innovation the department has always produced quality

professionals, holding important positions in IT industry in India and abroad.

The department started two years M. Tech. in Information Technology program
in the year 2010, with the objective of providing opportunities to the graduate
students to pursue research career in the domain of Information Technology.

Laboratories


 Artificial Intelligence Lab: Artificial Intelligence Lab is well established and fully
equipped with high configuration systems. Students can implement the various AI

based projects and performing various practical’s during lab hours. The lab is used
to train the students to improve their programming.
 Programming Lab: Programming Lab is used to train the students to improve
their programming like, C Programming, Structured and Object oriented

programming, Implementation of web services, thread programming, website
development, socket programming.
 Database Lab: This lab’s main focus is Advanced programming techniques and

data structures, Theory and current practices in database management systems,
Data organizational models, External storage devices.
 High Performance Computing/Distributed Computing Lab: This Lab is used to
train the students with the knowledge of RPC, RMI, Thread Programming, File

system Implementation like DFS, NFS, Hadoop and CODA.
 Mobile Application Development Lab: This lab has high configuration systems.
This lab is used to provide the basic and important design concepts and issues of

development of mobile applications to the students. Students can understand the
components and structure of mobile application development frameworks for
Android and windows OS based mobiles.
 Operating System Lab: In this Lab, Student can develop various algorithm like

Process scheduling, Disk- Scheduling, Multi-thread programming, Shell scripting
on Linux platform.
 Computer Networks Lab: The Computer Networks Lab is planned for the UG/PG

students to have the experiment related to the computer networks concepts.
Students can perform the practical’s like network cabling, installation and
configuration of network devices, analysis and application of network protocols,
design and management of network systems.

 Software Engineering Lab: The Software Engineering Lab is intended to provide
you hands-on experience with different aspects of Software Engineering and UML
including requirements identification, Data Flow Diagram, behavioral and

structural design using UML diagrams, implementation, testing, and so on.

 Internet of Things lab: This Lab is designed for UG/PG Students to perform the

various practical’s based on different physical components like sensors,
Electronics components, Arduino board, and raspberry pi.
 Web Programming Lab: This Lab is designed for UG students to implement the

various web based projects and perform the various practical’s using HTML,
XHTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, Perl, PHP, MySql etc.
 Computer Graphics Lab: This Lab is designed for UG Students. Main objective is
to make students aware of the concepts underlying modern Computer Graphics

and Machine Vision.

Achievements



 INCOGNIT Team of U. V. Patel College of engineering participated in National
Level Smart India Hackathon (SIH – 2020) and received prize money of
100000/- Rs from Government of Goa on 4th August, 2020. Team has
presented their work on problem statement “Alumni Tracking System” under
the mentor Prof. Pravesh Patel.

























 Our student, Kushal Prajapati of 4 semester, IT won 2 prize in Project

Presentation during Sampark 2020 of IEEE Gujarat Section. He has
presented project about face recognition system using computer vision and
python.

 Our team UVPCE, has secured 2 runners up prize at the Smart India

Hackathon 2018 (World’s largest Hackathon) at Girijananda Chaudhry
Institute (Guwahati) on 30th- 31st March 2018. They have been rewarded a
cash prize of Rs.50000 and Medals in this 36 hours coding and app
development competition. They will get a chance to deploy their android
application in a real-time environment. The team comprised of 6 members
from B.Tech Sem-VI (CE) namely, Patel Adeetya, Isha Vankineni, Heli Patel,
Vrinda Bhatt, Harsh Patel and Umang Desai; worked under the mentorship of
Prof. Prashant Modi (IT dept.).

 Jugal Bhatt student of batch 2014 is Microsoft Student Partner since
November 2015. He got the opportunity to attend annual summit at BITS
Pilani organized by Microsoft.

 Our student Abhishek Chotia (6thSem-IT) got the opportunity to attend
World’s first DSC Summit in Goa from 23/2/2018 to 25/02/2018. Aim of

summit is to focus on imparting the students in India with a headstart on
Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and technologies used in
mobile and Web development platforms




























 Mr. Priyanshukumar Jha who has been offered highest package of US$ 1.8
Lacs per Anum (Aprox. 1 crore) from Microsoft, USA. He has passed his
B.Tech, Information Technology from U. V. Patel College of Engineering,
Ganpat University in year 2011.

 Balram Tilara has made mobile based water pump.

 Rahul Maliakkal and Jayesh Anandani have completed Google Summer of
Code.

3. Convergence
 Convergence is one of the flagship annual events at Ganpat University.
 It is a National Level Technical Festival for engineering students for Two days, being

Hostel Facility


The campus consists of Several well-built hostel blocks, both for girls and boys with capacity of
3000 students. Each hostel consists of a separate mess, administrative office, warden quarter. In
addition to well furnished rooms, the hostel is complete with facilities like free hi speed Wi-Fi
connection, gymnasium, medical center and other amenities for shopping, sports, recreation and

entertainment. A shopping complex, consisting of about 20 shops, is constructed in the vicinity of
the hostel blocks and caters to the daily needs of the students like groceries, stationery, laundry
and grooming.

 Sports and Recreational Activities: Students can use GYM and Sports activities like, Volley
Ball, Cricket, Foot Ball, Swimming, etc. at Vikram Nail Sports Complex. Professional Coach
are available for all the activities.
 Laundry Service: Laundry service is available at Campus shopping Centre on the payment
basis.
 Stationery Store and Groceries: Stationary store is available at the campus shopping
campus center. Groceries store is not available on the campus.
 The following arrangements have been made to ensure the security of the inmates of the
hostels:
o Security check at the main gate of each Hostel.
o Individual security guard at each hostel building.
o Lady Warden at girl’s hostels.
