The Rundown

Beautiful refreshed clay courts

We installed 54 new pop-up sprinkler heads on all 9 clay courts last week. These new
sprinklers are below-ground, thus providing no playing hazards. They will also offer

superior water distribution and hydration for all the courts!

This week, we have started our clay court resurfacing project. Each of the 9 clay courts
will be fully re-graded with lasers to achieve the ideal slope. In addition, each court will
receive 10 tons of new clay material, essentially creating a brand-new playing surface for

our members. Check out courts 4 & 5, which were already completed!
Both of these projects represent a major investment and improvement to our clay

courts. River Run will continue to have the finest clay courts in the area.
We are doing our best to limit interruption to member play, and I hope you have
noticed our efforts to be discrete during the sprinkler installation, which, according

to some members, has gone somewhat unnoticed.
The resurfacing is more extensive, and we will need to close 2-3 courts at a time for
about 2-3 days each. In the meantime, we will offer the indoor courts at no charge to

accommodate member play with minimal interruption.
Thank you to the Board and Landscapes for providing these essential capital
projects, making River Run one of the finest tennis complexes in the Carolinas.

Philanthropy

Water Bottles and More!

Through the month of August, we will be collecting new
insulated water bottles for children in the Davidson area. Please

consider donating to a local DK-8 student in need! We will have
collection bins at the Main Clubhouse and Slice Cafe. We will be

collecting through Sunday, August 21. Contact Eden at

NOTES FROM GM, WES MARSHALL

Dear Membership,

The Club hasn’t charged for the kids’ meal during Wednesday Family
Night Buffet for several years and we continue to lose money each
week on this endeavor. As you know; the cost of food, beverages,
supplies, and labor has been increasing for the past few months and
it’s time we acknowledge the need to charge something for kids’
dining. Please know we’re not looking to make a big profit on
Wednesday Family Nights, but we do need to be good stewards of
operating the Club by at least breaking even.

Starting Wednesday, July 27th, we are changing the kids pricing for
our Wednesday Family Buffet. Children 3 & under are free, ages 4 to
12 will be $6.95, children 13 to 18 will be $14.95 then adults will
remain the same at $17.95. The kids’ price is comparable to or below
what you’d pay at a fast-food restaurant and there are many more
options on our Wednesday Night buffet for them to enjoy, including
desserts.

We encourage you to make a reservation whenever possible on
Wednesdays to ensure we have a table for you. Thank you for
