NOTES FROM THE DIRECTORS

WINTER 22 - 23

COMMUNICATIONS STAYING INFORMED AT RIVER RUN

We are lucky to have so much going on here at River Run. While things slow down a bit with

the pool closing and less activity on the golf course in the winter months, we are blessed

with year-round outdoor weather, and we still have a fantastic indoor tennis program,

delicious dining options, and great social events throughout these cold(er) months.

I want to take some time here, and in the video that accompanies the newsletter, to explain

the best ways to stay informed here at River Run.

Jackson Abbot Michael EMAILS:

Director of The Rundown is delivered in PDF format to all members each Sunday. It
Marketing and Communications describes the next week of activities and some save-the-dates for further out.

There is a video component to the Rundown, in which each director discusses their upcoming
events. These videos will come out with the first Rundown of each month.
Moving to one-a-month videos will allow the directors to be more creative and enthusiastic, and
they will each have more to discuss in each video! You can see all of our videos from the past
year of Rundowns on the River Run YouTube Page.
Specified emails such as the LGA Newsletter or a Pickleball announcement are delivered to certain
segments of the membership and come out as needed.
Periodically, emails are sent as needed to inform of power or internet outages at the club, facility
closures, frost delays, etc.
If you are having trouble receiving Club emails, please reach out to me!
WEBSITE:
The public website at riverruncc.com has great information if a non-member asks about what River
Run has to offer, but if you click on "Member Portal" you can see much more!
Here, you can see the Club Calendar, sign up for events, learn about capital improvements, and
more! All at members.riverruncc.com
You can access the tee sheet by clicking "Tee Times" under Quick Links, or on the Golf Menu!
You can also view your statement under "Member Central" -> "Statements"
Here, you can click the magnifying glass pictured below to view receipts!

SOCIAL MEDIA:
For in-the-moment posts, event recaps, and extra event promotions, follow us on Instagram, and
follow each of our Facebook pages; the public page and the Members-Only page!

MEMBER EXPERIENCE FEEDBACK:
Your feedback is vital! If there are ways I could better keep you informed, don't hesitate to
reach out and let me know!
We send out quarterly surveys to gauge how we are doing in all areas of service and overall
Member experience.
These are sent out with the Rundown once each quarter | The next survey will be sent out in
December, keep an eye out on the Rundowns!
In our Food & Beverage venues, we have QR codes placed where you can scan and complete
a short survey regarding your service.
There are two buttons on the Main Page of the Website
"Feedback and Comments," which connects with several staff members including GM Wes
Marshall, who will either respond directly or coordinate with another staff member to whom
the comment pertains.
"Inquiries for the Board," Which will send your comment to representatives of the board, who
will then reply to your inquiry directly

FITNESS With the holidays often comes a the peace we need. In addition to the mental
benefits come the well-known physical ones:
sense of overwhelming pressure: reduced risk of mental health issues, lowered
blood pressure, reduced stress, lowered resting
pressure to be with friends and heart rate, and help with insomnia.
Where a lot of people get stuck is believing that
family, pressure to enjoy EVERY. exercise has to take the shape of running, heavy
weights, and a "no pain, no gain" mentality.

FITNESS CONT. Exercise can be nature walks, meditative breathing, group exercise classes, tennis, golf, or even just
dancing in our living room.
If you are unsure of where to start, try and think of something you like. Do you like being outdoors? Then
maybe a tennis lesson would be a great start. Do you like walking? River Run has a Greenway running
right through it! What about dancing? Try a group exercise class (or 2 or 3). Or, if you just need to
breathe... Sit somewhere peaceful and do just that, breathe.
Exercise can be different every time. So, take the chance to try something new. And, although this note is
about taking a step back and finding calm in solitude training, sometimes exercise can best be enjoyed
with a friend or be an excellent opportunity to meet new people while performing your workout!
All-in-all, exercise benefits the whole body by bringing peace, well-being, and an opportunity to reflect.
Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Eden Coiro | Director of Fitness
