What is Agreement and Disagreement ?

1) Expressions of Agreement (Ungkapan Persetujuan) yaitu suatu ungkapan yang
digunakan untuk menyatakan setuju atau sependapat terhadapat saran, masukan dan
pendapat orang lain

2) Expressions of Disagreement (Ungkapan ketidaksetujuan) yaitu suatu ungkapan yang
digunakan untuk menyatakan tidak setuju atau tidak sependapat dengan saran dan pendapat
orang lain

Udin : You should go to the doctor.

Beni : I don 't think that' s a good idea. Just take a good rest and drink a lot of water, Lina.

Siti : I agree with Udin. You should go to the doctor, Lina. You look very pale. I think you need
to take medicine.

Edo : I don 't agree with you, Siti. Too much medicine is not good. Lina, just take a rest, drink a

Setelah membaca percakapan diatas, maka dapat kita simpulkan bahwa ada expression of
agreement and disagreement di dalam percakapan tersebut.

• Beni : I don’t think that’s a good idea (Expression of Disagreement)
“Saya tidak berfikir itu ide yang bagus” kata beni menyatakan ungkapan ketidaksetujuan
terhadap pernyataan udin yang menyarankan lina untuk pergi ke dokter.

• Siti : I agree with Udin (Expression of Agreement)
“Saya setuju dengan Udin” kata siti menyatakan ungkapan setuju terhadap pernyataan
udin yang menyarankan lina untuk pergi ke dokter.

• Edo : I don 't agree with you, Siti (Expression of Disagreement)
“Saya tidak setuju dengan mu, siti” kata edo menyatakan ungkapan ketidaksetujuan
terhadap pernyataan siti yang menyarankan lina untuk pergi ke dokter.

Setelah membaca dan memahami contoh percakapan diatas, kamu juga dapat membaca lagi contoh
yang ada di buku cetak mu halaman 30 dan tentukanlah kalimat – kalimat yang menggunakan
Expression of Agreement dan Expression of Disagreement.
