BAILLIE

SYNOPSIS

ABOUT TWO STUDENTS AND THEIR ATTITUDE TO PEER ACHIEVEMENTS AND
RELATIONSHIPS. THE SHORT STORY COMPETITION IS WON BY GEOFF AND HE
WIND THE HOLMES-WATKINS MEDAL. LYNNE’S STORY IS PLACED SECOND AND
SHE FEELS DISAPPOINTED. SHE LEARNS TO ACCEPT HER FAILURE AND DECIDES
TO LET GO. THEN, SHE COMES ACROSS A SHORT STORY OF WRITE WILLIAM
BRADBURIE. GEOFF’S STORY OF A CIRCUS ELEPHANT’S ESCAPADE IN THE PARK
IS SIMILAR TO BRADBURIE’S STORY. IMMEDIATELY, LYNNE ASSUMES THAT GEOFF
HAS CHEATED AND DIDN’T WRITE HIS OWN STORY. SHE IS IN DILEMMA AS TO
WHETHER AND HOW SHE SHOULD EXPOSE GEOFF. THE CONSEQUENCES MAY
BE TOO DRASTIC FOR GEOFF. DURING THE CLASS DISCUSSION ON CAREERS,
LYNNE HOLDS BACK EXPOSING GEOFF BUT LATER SHE INADVERTENTLY
MENTIONS THE NAME OF BRADBURIE AND NOTICES GEOFF’S REACTION. A FEW
MINUTES LATER, SHE IS CALLED TO HEADMASTER VELOS’ OFFICE AND GEOFF IS
THERE TOO WITH THE HOLMES-WATKINS MEDAL. MR VELOS EXPLAINS THAT
GEOFF FEELS HE MIGHT HAVE TAKEN HIS STORY FROM BRADBURIE’S

MORAL VALUES

• WE MUST NOT BE AFRAID TO HAVE HEALTHY
COMPETITION WITH OTHERS IN ORDER TO
IMPROVE OURSELVES TO BECOME A BETTER
PERSON.

• WE MUST BE HONEST IN EVERYTHING WE DO AS
HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY IN LIFE.

• WE MUST KNOW HOW TO PUT ASIDE ANGER OR
ANY DISSATICFATION SO THAT THERE WILL BE NO
CONFLICTS OCCURRENCE.

• WE MUST LEARN TO HAVE FAITH IN PEOPLE NO
MATTER THEY ARE FRIENDS OR SOCIETY AND
STOP BEING A JUDGEMENTAL AND
MATERIALISTIC PERSON.

I) WRITE A SHORT REFLECTION
OF YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE
MAKING OF THIS PROJECT.

• PERSONALLY , THE BEST EXPERIENCE I FELT IN THE
MAKING OF THIS PROJECT , THERE WERE A LOT OF
VALUES THAT SHOULD BE APPRAISED AND ETHICS THAT
SHOULD BE EMPHASIZED. A RATHER CRITICAL STUATION
WHERE I WAS A LITTLE PERPLEXED IN CONDITIONING
VERSES TO BECOME BETTER VERSES.

II) HOW DO YOU FEEL,WHAT HAVE
YOU LEARNT ,WHAT ASPECT OF THE
PROJECT CHALLENGE YOU A LOT.

• YET THE PROJECT GIVES ME AN ENTHUSIASTIC AND SELF
ASSURED EMOTIONS. IT JUST TAUGHT ME TO BECOME A
SANGUINE PERSON, NO FAKING UP. YOU HAVE TO BECOME
A FORTHRIGHT PERSON.

• VALUES THAT I HAVE LEARNT ON THE SHORT STORY ARE,
YOU SHOULD BE AN ASSIDUOUS AND PAINSTAKING PERSON.
YOU SHOULD KNOW HOW TO HANDLE YOUR EMOTIONS,
AND NOT TO EXPRESS YOUR DISSACFITORY DIRECTLY. TALK
NICELY WITH YOUR FRIENDS BECAUSE A QUARREL DOES NOT
BRING ANY BENEFIT.

• THE MOST CHALLENGING ASPECT OF THE PROJECT ARE,IN
TERMS OF COMPOSING IDEA OF THE STORY AND TRYING TO
SPEAK IN ENGLISH SPONTANEOUSLY. I SELDOM SPEAK IN
ENGLISH, SO THIS PROJECT HAS GIVEN ME THOUSAND OF
WONDERS..BUT I’M STILL GLAD TO MAKE IT THROUGH.
