What a year!

It’s hard to believe that it’s almost the end of 2019 already – what a year! It’s been a year of
creating a stronger business for you, our guests, our owners and our investors. A year of
moving fast and of making our purpose of True Hospitality for everyone really count.

There have been so many memorable moments for us all to take pride in. I hope this short
film raises a smile and makes you feel as proud as I do about what we are achieving as a
company. Together with the rest of the Executive Committee, I want to say a huge thank you
for all your hard work, your dedication and your energy to go the extra mile.

Over the next few weeks, I know many of you will be working to make this time of year really
special for our guests, but I hope that everyone gets some time to enjoy with their loved
ones this holiday season.

Intercontinental Hotels Group reveals senior appointments

Executives will be responsible for the Riyadh office that will open in
March 2020
Hospitality group InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has made a
series of appointments to its Riyadh office that will open in March 2020.

To lead IHG’s business in Saudi Arabia, Bastien Blanc has been
appointed as managing director, KSA & Bahrain effective March 1, 2020.

In his current role with IHG, Blanc is responsible for leading operations
across IHG’s portfolio of hotels in the Middle East and Africa, including
KSA. In his new role, Blanc will be responsible for driving both growth
and performance for IHG in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. He has also been
leading IHG’s Saudisation efforts which he will continue to drive further in his new role. Blanc
will continue to report to IHG managing director, IMEA, Pascal Gauvin.

A Happily ever after Story

When true love exists between two people, it can
always be clearly seen and felt. It’s in their eyes, their
faces, the glances they give each other, the words they
speak, and in the tears that they can make each other cry—good tears,
of course.Robert and Connie’s wedding, our colleagues who are both
working in F&B Preparation, is a real tear-jerker, and the romance
that those who witness the solemn ceremony feels is true and genuine.
The sanctification of the charming wedding was held at Our Lady of
Purification Parish Church in Zamboanga. Their vows to each other
were unique and beautiful and guests were brought to tears listening
to their sweet words of lifetime promises. After the wedding
ceremony, families and friends of the newly wed enjoyed a
sumptuous dinner buffet at the Palacio del Sur, Marcian Group
Hotel. The evening was filled with good food,emotional
speeches, lots of dancing and memories that the newly
announced husband and wife will cherish throughout their
lifetime. Let us all convey our congratulatory message to
Robert and Connie, and join us in wishing them both a thousand
years journey of love and laughter.

My IHG Story at its Best

November 2012, was my starting point in IHG and for the

last seven years, I have immensely evolved, progressed

and developed personally and professionally. I started my

career as a Receptionist /Guest Relations Officer in Holiday Inn for

almost nine months and subsequently I had an opportunity in Finance Department

as an Administrative Assistant. Being in Finance was a bit challenging as I don’t have

any administrative/secretarial experience and doing all the excel sheets, memos,

letters, etc.,has always been severely difficult at first. Well, that was the initial stage,

yet I survived for 6 years and having worked with my Finance colleagues was really

a delightful and an extraordinary experience. Last March 2019, another opportunity

knocked in Learning and Development Department and fortunately they offered

me the job. I can genuinely say that in L&D, I’m home, this is where I truly belong.

Evidently, IHG never fails to provide opportunities to grow, I’m the vivid proof of the

IHG’s commitment to its people, however moving forward, the need to flourish and

develop also depend upon us. So, always strive to become the best version of yourself

phone. The app will allow you to gain important detail

around where you are going, key news to be aware

of, risks that may cause delays and small tips to help

keep yourself safe during your journey. We’re launching a new app to help you travel safely

Each time you book air travel at IHG you’ll be sent information about the location’s medical
requirements, security risks, local etiquette, laws and much more.

The TripHub app supported by our partners at Anvil, is available now and can be downloaded by
searching ‘TripHub’ on the App Store, Google Play or the IHG app store. Once you’ve signed up,
simply search the location you are looking to travel to and get up-to-date information about your
destination. You can find a helpful guide on how to access and use the app here. From today, when
you book business travel, you will receive an email encouraging you to download the app, giving
you details around your location and any risks.

The app is designed to monitor significant world events and provide you with information should
an incident occur in a location you are visiting. The app gives you access to a 24/7 helpline dealing
with everything from lost documentation, emerging threats and live incidents. In the case of an
emergency, Anvil’s dedicated support team will reach out to ensure you are safe and inform IHG
Risk teams.

IHG’s response to Wuhan Novel Coronavirus

IHG continues to closely monitor the outbreak caused by a novel coronavirus in Wuhan, Hubei
Province, China. A number of countries have been actively screening incoming travellers from
Wuhan, China, and cases of the virus have been confirmed in Australia, Cambodia, Canada,
France, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, The Republic of
Korea, United States and Vietnam, all as a result of travellers returning from Wuhan.

At time of publishing, the World Health Organisation (WHO) estimates that more than 4,500

people have been infected. In order to control the spread of the virus, local authorities have

put measures in place. While WHO considers this is a serious public health concern, based

on current information, the immediate health risk from the virus to the general public is
