A star is Born!

Let us all celebrate with Mr. Maroun Daou as he
welcomed his first baby, a healthy bouncing baby
girl, that he named Melany.

Melany was born on 15th April 2019, at 9:09 am
in Bellevue Hospital, weighing 3.3 kilos and 50 cm in
length.
Again, best wishes for your family and new baby! You are
so blessed to be a new father, May your child be healthy,
happy, and full of life.

Let us congratulate our Cluster Director of Food &
Beverage, a first time Dad, Peter Marroune for having his
healthy first born named Elijah.
His Mom, Stephanie, delivered safely in
Cherbourg France with a healthy baby boy which
undoubtedly a replica of his father.

Global HR announcement

A message from Faye Frater, SVP, Global HR Shared Services & Analytics

It’s with mixed emotions that I’m sharing with
you that Leon Kenny has chosen to retire from
IHG after 34 years at the end of this year. I will
very much miss working closely with Leon, but
I’m delighted that he will now be able to enjoy
having quality time for new adventures.

As many of you will know, Leon has undertaken https://me2.ihgmerlin.com/web/news/
a variety of roles at IHG over the last three article?id=132017920
decades, working in both corporate and hotel
roles across Asia and the Americas. He started
his IHG career in 1986 within F&B, moving into
hotel training and more recently into
HR Shared Services. Since 2002, Leon has been
pivotal in evolving our HR shared services
function, including the launch of our MyHR and
global payroll service in 2014.

Leon has made an important contribution to many business initiatives and has delivered a consistently high level
of service to stakeholders and across HR Shared Services. I would like to sincerely thank Leon for his tremendous
support to many people over the years, and for his relentless focus on efficiency and raising the bar of performance
across the Global HR function.

As a result of this change, I am pleased to confirm that Angelo Frangi will become VP, Global People Services. Angelo
is currently VP, HR, Commercial & Technology. He has previously undertaken HR Business Partner and Compensation
& Benefits roles in the US and China, since joining IHG in 2001. During Q4 Angelo will progressively take over from
Leon while continuing to support the Commercial & Technology function until his replacement is finalised. Angelo
brings a breadth of knowledge across IHG, as well as expertise in HR service design and execution; and is well placed
to lead our global HR Shared Services (HRSS) team and continue the evolution of our HRSS model into the future.

Please join me in wishing Leon well for his upcoming retirement and congratulate Angelo on this new role.

Success Story

A Successful decade within IHG
Over the last 10 Years I’ve been moving and growing
within IHG
2010 Joined the Iconic InterContinental Doha hotel &
Residence as front desk agent. In very short period I
was able to perform the job of Night Auditor till 2012.
In Crowne Plaza Muscat I broaden my experience as
front office supervisor. Due to my effective participation support to the
Omanization process I was selected as a guest lecturer in Oman Tourism
College before extending my adventure as Duty Manager at the same property.
In February 2016, I joined the best place at my best time. In Crowne Plaza
Kuwait Al Thuraya City, I have extended my skills as a customer focused and
service oriented. Proud enough, I have been shortlisted as Hotelier Middle East
Awards as Guest Service Person of the 2017.
Since I have planted a fruitful development plan; today I’m growing in the
shade of IHG Future Leaders Program. Being one of only Four Future Leaders
in Middle East and Africa give me sense of pride and responsibility developing
self and others.
By the end of my 2nd decade within IHG, I will be one of the regional operation
leaders.
