Sports 4.0 Harm or benefit?
WHICH CHOICE WOULD YOU MAKE? PAGE 09
The application of sports technology and IR 4.0 is undeniably beneficial,
especially in judging and analyzing performance. The data obtained is
high validity and reliability. For example, replays in rugby and tennis will
help referees make fair and accurate decisions. It is excellent for
achieving satisfaction for both parties and the audience. In addition, it
also helps coaches analyze opponents' weaknesses through video analysis
that uses sports technology applications.

integrates technology, teaching, and
learning, such as Augmented Reality (AR),
IoT, 3D modelling, Project-Based Learning,
and opportunities to interact with experts
from the industry. The DEC4IR program
began in 2020 and impacted over 3,500
students and 100,000 participants exposed
to drones, robotics, and programming
through a program conducted virtually for
five months.
While in 2020, the first year of the
implementation of the DEC4IR program,
Form 1 to 5 secondary school students were
excited to complete all Drone challenges
through webinar sessions, quiz activities,
assignments, software use, and coding

answer all the questions about the
challenges posed during the interview
session with a panel of drone experts from
industry and academia.
The momentum of this excitement was
extended to 2021 as 3780 registrations
involving 2370 students and 1271 teachers
from all categories were competing. It is
hoped that the numbers will keep growing

education, employment, and training (EET)
opportunities.
My research focuses on developing mental skills
training to benefit others, especially those who
struggle mentally and emotionally. I have been working
on cognitive skills training for mental health. Recently, I
published a book titled; Self-Healing; Healed from
Depression in 1 Night. My works have always been
inspired by the success of a research group that has
introduced mental skills training for life (MST4Life™),
addressing social inequalities by improving the
likelihood of life qualities among the vulnerable
population (homeless youth) for years.
What inspired you to be a researcher and
motivator?
I have loved sports and physical activities since I was
young, and I started wondering how and why people
did what they did during my teenage years. It was my
turning point, and I began to read about human
psychology and never look back. Through time, I
learned about psychology in sports, where things are
combined. I never stop learning and continuingly learn
new things every day. If I doubt something, I will do my
little research, and it saves me from being a blind
follower and always prepared for anything.
From life experience, I learned that knowledge is
powerful if it's shared. I started to believe an educator
is a profession that creates other jobs. A good
educator comes with good motivation; that is how I
was inspired to be who I am today. I may not be rich,
but I can multiply things with knowledge. The human
brain works fantastic. If I reveal to 100 students about
one thing, I will get 100 different ideas back, and they
will spread it. Knowledge is contagious. Isn't it
powerful?

on Workplace
Safety
Conducting safety and health audits in the workplace or a construction site can identify and
help to eliminate workplace hazards. The Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (OSH)
was created to encourage safer workplace conditions. The Institute of Human Centered
Engineering (iHumEn), one of the well-known research institutes in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia
(UTM), has performed a physical audit led by Assoc Prof Dr Mohamad Wijayanuddin Ali with a
team of Occupational Safety and Health auditors.
iHumEn | Issue 06 Physical audits of the OSHE management are
conducted to determine whether iHumEn
complies with the OSHE legal requirements or
standards and to review and evaluate the
performance and effectiveness of OSHE. It is
essential to identify problems, risks, and non-
compliance and monitor the implementation of
non-compliance reports that have been issued.
Five auditors visited iHumEn’s office and several
Research Centers for evaluation and evidence-
gathering sessions. The Occupational Safety
and Health Audit evaluation session lasted from
2:00 to 5:00 pm.
iHumEn also conducted an internal assessment
that was held on 18 April 2022. The internal
auditors consisted of fellows, fellow assistants,
36
and iHumEn staff. With the internal evaluation,
it is hoped that the infrastructure and building
and the workspace can be further improved to
provide optimal comfort to the UTM community,
thus ensuring the workspace is always safe,
healthy, and conducive to staff, students and
visitors.
