SLOTS
Before the school year even began, our newly elected officers took a trip to
Cartersville, GA to attend SLOTS, short for Summer Leadership and Officer
Training Summit. In attendance was Vice Presidents, Jordan Ezell, Justin Pass,
and Brian Pierce along with Secretary LauRena Pintard, Reporter Taylor
Stevenson, and Parliamentarian Mykaiyah Wright. There, we engaged in a
series of activities and games that helped to better our leaderships skills. We
also got to bond and learn how to work together as a team. Overall it was a
great experience that allowed us to grow and be better leaders not only for our
members but for our future careers.

PUMPKIN MUCHKIN
Pumpkin Munchkin is an event we host every year that
allows young children in the community to participate in
Halloween in a safe and easy way. Instead of going door to
door, kids can come to the high school and have just as
much fun. We take over our 1100 hallway and decorate each
room for different activities. Our most popular room is
usually the “Haunted House” where we recreate a scary
atmosphere hoping to strike some fear into our guess in
honor of the Halloween spirit. We also do a dance room, an
arts and craft room, a game room, and a movie room. It’s a
way for us to give back to the community and bring out
tons of families.
FBLA LUV-A GRAMS
FBLA Luv-A Grams is a new project brought to us by one
of our outstanding members. We wanted to do something
where we could take advantage of the Valentine’s Day
holiday and fundraise, while also raising awareness for
March of Dimes. Sophomore Destiny Lampkin came up
with the idea of selling valentine themed packages to
students. They could pay for whatever package they
wanted and have it delivered to the person of their choice.
It was a great sales pitch and proved to be very successful.
Being in competition with other clubs and their Valentine’s
Day products, we had one of the most popular things to
offer. In the end we were able to raise over _______ for
March of Dimes.
