Wilsonart History

HISTORY
Ralph Wilson Sr. founded Wilsonart (at the time named Ralph Wilson Plastics Company), in Temple, Texas as a
producer of High Pressure Decorative Laminate (HPL). Wilsonart’s first manufacturing facility was built directly
across the street from their first company, a major school furniture manufacturer. Their original laminate orders were
shuttled across the street on dollies to fill orders. By the end of the 1970’s, Wilsonart laminate had become one of
the nation’s leading brands of decorative laminate.

In 1986, in order to meet the increasing demand for Wilsonart laminate, “Temple-North” — the world’s most efficient,
state-of-the-art laminate production facility — laid its roots in Texas. Since then, the facility has doubled in size and is
among the largest of its kind in the world.

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Wilsonart’s product diversification sped up to meet new market opportunities,

In 1985, Fabricators Supply, a family owned and operated company based out of Fargo, North Dakota, proudly
became a distributor of Wilsonart products. For over 30 years now, Fabricators Supply and Wilsonart have worked
together to make Wilsonart laminate one of the most widely used and trusted laminate brands in the Upper Midwest.
Fabricators Supply has been a distributor to some of the highest quality hardware stores, cabinet and millwork shops,
fabricators, and interior design companies in the region. These stores, shops, and designers have used Wilsonart
products in everything from educational buildings, hotels, and restaurants to residential homes and apartments. In an

Specifically designed for highly corrosive environments, Chemsurf® provides exceptional chemical resistance in most

available today. These surfaces are very resistant to cracks,
scratches, impact, and stains. But they are not scratch-proof,
so take care when using sharp objects near the countertop.
Like any surface, excessive pressure on the surface with
