Kelley Bassett erry Award Winner: Kelley Bassett

Kelley Bassett, president o f Pi Delta ( U . o f Maryland) was presented the 1994
Perry Award by International President Mary W i l l i a m s at the Region I I
Leadership Conference Rose Banquet last June in Harrisburg, PA. Kelley's par-
ents were there to see their daughter honored as A O I T s most outstanding col-
legiate chapter president for 1993-94. Kelley is the 36th recepient o f this
award since its inception at the 1959 Convention. Mary praised Kelley for:

instituting mandatory study hours for sisters with GPAs under 2.2;
emphazing the need for chapter members to follow their own rules;
holding a Leaders Council retreat to help set goals and involving the
entire chapter in finalizing these goals; and
helping to make Ritual a priority.
A fellow chapter member at Pi Delta wrote that Kelley had all the qualities
of the ideal chapter president, including how to lead others without force and
how "to be a friend. " Congratulations, Kelley. A O i l is proud o f you!
The Perry Award honors Founder Stella George Stern Perry and is administered by
three Past International Presidents appointed by the Executive Board. Ginger
Banks, Joan MacCallum, and Eleanore MacCurdy made up the 1994 Committee.
