1) Introduction Letter

DEAR SARAH, ERIC, AND MEMBERS OF THE EXTENSION COMMITTEE,

Congratulations on your upcoming plans to expand your Panhellenic community! On behalf of Alpha Omicron Pi,
it is my pleasure to express excitement about the opportunity to charter an AOII chapter within your campus and
Panhellenic community.
Alpha Omicron Pi, like Villanova University, places organizational emphasis on lifelong learning, campus involvement
and leadership opportunities. We have more than 3,600 alumnae living within 60 miles of Villanova, 2,083 of whom
live within a 30-mile radius of campus. Based on surveys conducted with these alumnae, AOII has already identified
17 women who are ready and willing to support the rechartering of our Beta Delta chapter in an advisory capacity.
AOII is selective in the area of Fraternity extension and has thoroughly examined our areas of consideration,
including alumnae profile, our ability to meet the needs and desires as noted by the university, and Fraternity
time commitment, prior to sending this letter of intent. We do not take this opportunity lightly, and we pledge our
total commitment to the chartering effort and ultimate success for AOII and Villanova’s College Panhellenic. Our
professional staff and volunteers have been actively watching the growth at Villanova University and continue to be
impressed with the institutional leadership and commitment to ensuring success for all!
Currently, we have more than 11,615 undergraduate members in 141 active collegiate chapters who represent AOII
in the name of friendship. In order to better acquaint you with our programs, principles, and philosophies, additional
materials have been enclosed which will help to answer your specific questions regarding AOII’s chartering process.
Our submission materials include:

• The AOII Experience: a comprehensive look at AOII including policies, programs and opportunities for members
• The Vision for AOII at Villanova University: our fit within the Villanova community, our chartering process,

support offered to chartering chapters and our five-year vision for new AOII chapters
• The Promise: a keepsake book and year-by-year educational guide given to all AOII new members
• Alpha Omicron Pi Biennial Report: a report detailing our biennial accomplishments
• To Dragma of Alpha Omicron Pi: the organization’s award-winning magazine
This packet of materials will highlight and illustrate AOII’s strength as a member of the National Panhellenic
Conference. Alpha Omicron Pi not only provides the tools for academic and personal achievement, we inspire
ambition to reach these objectives and beyond. Please feel free to contact us in regard to questions that may arise
from your review of our materials. It would be our pleasure to discuss with you the many membership programs our
Fraternity provides, and the benefits we offer to our members, both collegiate and alumnae.
Again, thank you for this opportunity. We appreciate your review of our informational packet and your consideration.
We look forward to hearing from you soon.
With warmest regards,

Kaya Miller
Alpha Omicron Pi Executive Director
