Katrina McDonaldMemorial
This year the AOII Headquarters Fund was the recipient of a wonderful gift of $10,000 given by Natalie Warren in memory of her sister Katrina MacDonald. Katrina MacDonald served AOII as International President 1925 to 1927 and until her death in 1985 was a thoughtful, loving sister vitally interested in AOII's progress and in AOII's headquarters as a structure able to house the best possible services for the fraternity. Not allof us are able to give $10,000 to Headquarters. Not all of us can be International President, but we have many dedicated AOITs for whom their sisters want to say thank you by giving a special gift to Headquarters. That's what the Cardinal Circle is all about—alumnae chapters, collegiate chapters, Corporation Boards, individuals—donating to Headquarters Fund and for each $100 given naming a special sister to be honored by being named to the Cardinal Circle. Honorees are listed on the Headquarters Fund plaque in Headquarters, and receive a Cardinal Circle recognition certificate.

AOTT Foundation Endowment Fund The Decadeof Endowment: 1987-1997
The Alpha Omicron Pi Foundation Endowment Fund Program is an exciting new endeavor which will ensure the continued enrichment of our fraternity's membership. During the Decade of Endowment, the Program will focus on establishing a stable source of funds to support the training and development needs of AOII collegians and alumnae. When Barb Hunt, immediate past Foundation President, announced the Program kick-off during the Interna- tional Convention in June, more than $100,000 had already been committed to the Fund. Since then, additional funds have been contributed.
In a Convention activity related to the Endowment Fund Program, Ginger Banks, Past International President, and Elise Moss, Region V I Regional Direc- tor, conducted a seminar to inform sisters of the Fund. Major topics included the goals of the Endowment Fund and various ways, principally estate planning, of contributing to the Fund.
The Endowment Fund's principal remains inviolate and in perpetuity and only the income derived from the investment of funds may be used. Most of the Endowment Fund is "unrestricted," which means that the funds may be used for any purpose deemed appropriate and important, at that time, by the Founda- tion Board of Directors. Uses of the un- restricted income will include a national leadership training center, personal development programs and historical archives.
Endowment funds may also be "re- stricted" so that income is used for a specific purpose. The Jessie Marie Cramer Endowment Fund is an example of restricted funds. Contributions placed in this fund will be used to design and develop the Chapter Advisers Training Program. Sisters who wish to designate the use of their contributions may either support such an existing fund or may establish one that will address the needs of one of the Endowment Fund's goals.
The Endowment Fund is our "faith" and "hope" fund—faith in the principles of Alpha Omicron Pi and hope for its future growth. A gift to the Endow- ment Fund is a living gift. As long as there is AOIT, there will always be a part of you to perpetuate our traditions.
As we enter our Decade of Endow-

I can make a difference in: Yes, I can make a difference by:

I can make a difference through: • personal involvement

I Can!
• considering the future • analyzing the options • making wise decisions
I can make a difference: • now
• for the future
I am a woman of today—strong—resourceful—caring. I want to help make sure that I and those I care about are provided for. That includes my family and my fraternity. As part of my financial plan, I have included support for The Alpha Omicron Pi Foundation Endowment Fund.
A significant way to support the Endowment Fund is through a charitable annuity in which I can pay a certain sum into a carefully managed trust that will pay income to me or to another beneficiary for life.
Remembering AOIT in my will is a preferred way of giving. My bequest can establish a lasting memorial to me or to someone I wish to honor and I can make a bequest in a variety of ways.
Because AOTT is important to me and to my sisters, I will help insure its future by contributing to the Foundation's ability to fund a national leadership training center, personal development programs and historical archives.
I hope you will join me in supporting AOTFs future and will take a few minutes to complete the pledge card below, clip it out and return it to:

Re-Regioning: A Sign Of Our Burgeoning Growth
At the close of the 1985 International Convention, new regional boundaries took effectas Alpha Omicron Pi updated and strengthened its middle manage- ment structure through a more equitable and balanced alignment of chapter supervision.
Over the past biennium, the Frater- nity has installed 16 new chapters and reactivated 4 closed chapters, bringing our active roll to 101.
During this period of growth, it has been imperative to continue giving careful attention to our established chapters. New Regional Directors have been added to the regional teams to carefully monitor all collegiate and alumnae chapters.
Members of the Regional Operations Committees, however, have had to absorb supervision of more chapters in their specialty areas of rush, finances and the general supervision of the Regional Vice Presidents.
The Fraternity Development Com- mittee once again has done an excellent job of analyzing the various factors which go into the alignment of regional boundaries, such as personnel demands and the number of chapters, geographic distances, sociological similarities, locations for leadership training

The result is the addition of two regions and a realignment of boundaries detailed on the map above. Regions

Founders' Day Message
In one of Stella's letters about the Founding of Alpha Omicron Pi, she says their thoughts were, "What have we in our hearts to give that the world most lacks and needs?"
What a noble way to begin.
Using this as a basis for our great fraternity, our four Founders, Stella George Stern Perry, Elizabeth Haywood Wyman, Helen St. Clair Mullan, and Jesse Wallace Hughan gave us a guide for living that is just as useful to us today as it was on January 2, 1897.
Those who attended our most recent convention had the privilege of witnessing and participating in the Candlelighting Ceremony when the sub-mottos of all our chapters both active and inactive, were shared. It is obvious that not only did our Founders utilize the highest of ideals when founding Alpha Omicron Pi, but also the founding members of each of our chapters. Through these sub-mottos, they demonstrated a desire to pass onto future members a concept that would enhance the quality of their membership experience. Candlelighting is truly inspiring.
Stella says in her letter to the initiate that each of us becomes a Founder upon initiation, so as we honor our founding 91 years ago, let us recall our chapter sub-motto. Let us recall the vows we made on that so special initiation day. Let us recall the words of counsel that we heard and renew our intentions to use these recommendations in the pattern for our lives.
Fraternally,
The Executive Board
