AOII & the Jingle Bell Run

Description of AOII's involvement and promotional efforts in relation to the 2016 Jingle Bell Run.

AOII & the
Jingle Bell Run

AOII’s international philanthropy is arthritis. Early last year, the Arthritis
Foundation asked AOII’s International President to serve as the chair of their
signature national fundraising event, the 2016 Jingle Bell Run (JBR). With that
commitment, AOII Fraternity agreed to set an aggressive fundraising goal of
$150,000, which was more than twice the amount AOII chapters and members
raised the previous year. To help reach this goal, our communication efforts
aimed to promote the JBR events in different cities and increase AOII team and
individual member participation and giving. The six-month campaign included
social media posts, direct email, incentives, newsletters and articles in our magazine,
To Dragma. AOII is proud of meeting the $150,000 goal and contributing to the
success of the 2016 JBR. Upon learning of AOII reaching our fundraising goal, Ann
Palmer, President and CEO of the Arthritis Foundation, wrote, “I wanted to connect
with sincerest gratitude for the significant fundraising strides that AOII has made
this year for the Jingle Bell Run series – that’s impressive - especially since it’s nearly
double what you raised last year. Thank you, and all of the ladies of AOII, for your
ongoing passion and commitment to the cause. We couldn’t do it without you!”
