PAGE 3 Dear Mustang Community, We are all very excited to welcome back all of our students and to jump back into Mustang athletics and activities! One of our biggest goals as a school is to engage students in extracurricular programs and help them understand the importance of being part of a community. It is essential that we maintain support and encouragement to all of our programs. Dedication to this goal, coupled with the hard work of our students, staff, and parents, has produced the excellent tradition of success shared among all of our programs. While championships and titles are great validation of hard work, we value the relationships and connections made between our outstanding Mustangs representing our school. The wealth of talent and diversity in our school makes BVN such a special place, and we are eager to share this with the world. It is what makes us a Mustang Family! It is our goal that Blue Valley North is not only a home to our students, but that you as a parent/guardian also involve yourself with the North Community. A great way to do this is to join The Mustang Club. The Blue Valley North Family would like to THANK the BVN Mustang Club for its continued support financially, as well as in their volunteer efforts. We simply would not be the successful school that we are without the support of our parent booster club. I strongly encourage you to patronize the businesses that advertise in this Activity Program and ask you to please join The Mustang Club as it directly impacts our students on a daily basis. Your ongoing involvement and support are essential to the overall success of our school. I look forward to seeing you all at our Mustang activities and games this year, and it is my honor to cheer on our outstanding students. Mustang Proud! I'm the head coach for the girls golf team and I'm the JV basketball coach for the basketball team. I also am the JV coach for the boys golf team. I went to Pittsburg State University where I played basketball for the Gorillas, but ended up getting my degree at Baker University in education. My coaching philosophy has a lot to do with creating a culture of hard-working young adults, and my goal is to have each of my athletes reach their full potential by the end of each season. I also strive to help them develop real life skills at the same time. I like to work hard when it's time to work hard and have fun when it's time to have fun! I truly enjoy helping students get better at sports they love and educating the youth through weight training and athletics. I have a wonderful wife, Lauren, who is a Physical Therapist in Kansas City. We have a German Shepherd dog at home, who loves to go on long walks and chew sticks. My assistant coach for the girls golf team is Mark Turrentine, who has been helping with the golf program for many years.
