APOCALYPSE

Skill focus: body coordination, agility.

Equipment: 10 dodge balls

Space requirement: half court

Time: N/A

Objective: Throw the ball at The designated “Human”
to turn them into a zombie

How to play: divide the class into two teams, Zombie
and Humans. Pick 5 students to be designated
Zombies. They must “infect” the humans by hitting
them with balls placed in the center of the court. The
last human standing survives the Apocalypse, or all
the zombies must be killed.

Rules: if the opposing player catches the ball, they’ve
killed the zombie, all zombies killed in the process sit
on the bleachers until next game.

MUSICAL BASKETBALL

Skill focus: body coordination, agility, and aim.

Equipment: basketballs (enough for each student
to have one), a source of music (i.e phone and
speaker)

Space requirement: half court

Time: N/A

Objective: Throw your basketball into the goal.

How to play: there will be one ball per player.
Place the balls in the center of the circle and walk
around them while the music plays, once the
music stops the players get one shot if they make
the basket they sit if they dont they get back in
the circle.

Rules: The last person standing is out!!.

PROTECT THE PENGUIN

Skill focus: agility and aim.

Equipment: foam balls and bowling pins

Space requirement: full court

Time: N/A

Objective: Knock over the opponents in
(Penguin)

How to play: Place foam balls across the gym
and give each player a bowling pin to set up.
Each person must protect their pin and try and
knock down other players’ pins.

Rules: If your pin gets knocked down, then you
are out. As more people get out, players move
their pins closer together until only one is left
standing.

MIME

Skill focus: quick thinking and focus

Equipment: N/A

Space requirement: half court

Time: NA

Objective: Use thinking skills to guess sentence
and win point for team

How to Play: Students in groups of 2 pick from
the box given sentences. The game leader at
that time is the mime and must fulfill the action
on the paper to his/her own group members.

Rules: They are allowed to make ONLY 3
guesses. If they produce the correct sentence
they are given a point. Students take their turns
and the winner is the team with the highest
score.

HUMAN PACMAN

Skill focus: No required skill focus

Equipment: Tennis Balls, Reflective Vest (optional) 4
foam balls, bucket

Space requirement: full court

Time: N/A

Objective: Tag the student and stop them from
getting all the tennis balls

How to Play: Choose one kid to be the Pac-Man
(wearing the vest). Make all the other kids line up in
an opposite corner to be the Ghost. Set some tennis
balls down in a few places for the Pac-Man to pick
up with the bucket. The ghost are trying to tag the
Pac-Man. If the pacman catches a foam ball they can
throw them at the ghost dodgeball style

Rules: Everyone can only walk. The Pac-Man gets
three lives, and blow a whistle to start.

WHERE’S WALDO??

Skill focus: Thinking and focus

Equipment: N/A

Space requirement: half court

Time: NA

Objective: Find the student that’s waldo

Rules: all the students will be split into 2 groups
the instructor will have picked 2 students
without the other team knowing and describe
them in 3 words to the groups. The waldo is
chosen from the opposing team. When the
instructor blows the whistle for time students
will pick a waldo from the other teams, when
the instructor asks “Where’s Waldo?” the
correct Waldo steps forward, the team to guess
correctly will get a point, the team with the
most points wins

STEAL THE BACON

Skill focus: body coordination

Equipment: 2 Hula Hoops
Bacon (i.e Rubber Chicken, pool noodle, etc.)

Space requirement: Full court

Time: NA

Objective: The first student to get to the bacon and pick it up has to try and put it inside the other
team’s hula hoop without getting tagged by the opposing team member.

Rules: Split the students into 2 even teams. Set the bacon in the middle of the gym. Line the two teams
up facing each other, at either end of the gym. Place one large hula hoop 3 feet in front of each team.
Number the students in each line, so that each student has a corresponding number on the opposing
team. When the teacher shouts out a number, the two students with that number can charge out and
try to get the bacon. If the opposing team member tags the student holding the bacon, said student
IMMEDIATELY drops the bacon. As soon as the bacon has been dropped, the teacher calls out a new
number

BALLOON TENNIS RELAY

Skill focus: Locomotive skills

Equipment: balloons, rackets

Space requirement: half court

Time: N/A

Objective: Students in groups of 2 must cross to
the opposing side while keeping their ballon
from hitting the ground.

Rules: The instructor will call out an action that
the members must do while crossing to the
opposing side. If the instructor says “Quack
like a duck” the student must quack while
bouncing the balloon on their racket, if it calls
they must return to their side and try again the
first group to successfully cross sides wins

HUNGRY HUNGRY HIPPO

Skill focus: Agility

Equipment: 4 Hula Hoops. Balls

Space requirement: half court

Time: NA

Objective: Students in groups of 4, grab as many
balls possible and bring to their team

Rules: balls will be placed in center of the gym
when the instructor blows the whistle a team
member from each corner must run out and
collect as many balls as they can within the 10
second countdown until all players have gone,
the team with the most balls post game wins.

DOG CATCHER

Skill focus: body coordination, agility.

Equipment: 4 dodge balls

Space requirement: full court

Time: NA

Objective: To successfully switch to a new
corner, without being tagged by a dog catcher.

Rules: Give 4 students a ball and put them
inside the center circle of the gym (these are
your dog catchers). Tell everyone else that they
are dogs, and tell them that they have 5 seconds
to get into one of the four corners in the gym.
The object of the game is to switch to a
different corner, when the teacher yells
“SWITCH,” without being tagged by a dog
catcher. When the teacher yells “SWITCH,” you
MUST switch corners or your out by default. If
you are tagged by a dog catcher, you lose.

CANNON FIRE

Skill focus: agility and focus

Equipment: balls, cones and hula hoops

Space requirement: full court

Time: NA

Objective: seperated into 2 teams, Throw the
balls at the cones or in the hula hoops to collect
points for team

Rules: Students divide into groups and stand in
lines on one side of the gym. Put out cones,
hoops and other objects to be fired upon. When
the teacher yells “FIRE,” students throw one
ball and try to hit something in the “ocean.” If
they hit a target, they get a point for their team,
The opposing team are assigned “pirates” to
stand out next to the objects and swat away
incoming cannonballs. Hula hoops are 5 points
and cones are 2

HELICOPTER

Skill focus: body coordination, speed

Equipment: 16 Cones, Pool Noodles

Space requirement: full court

Time: NA

Objective: To keep the Helicopters (players)
from leaving their helipad

How to Play: The students will be split into
groups of 4 as Helicopters, they are trying to fly
from Helipad to Helipad (cones) and avoid the
taggers who tag with pool noodles.

Rules: Cones will be color coordinated into 4
sections. The instructor will call out a team to
fly to their next designated spot without getting
tagged. There will be 2 taggers the rest of the
students are helicopters.
