OUR
DESIGNS

Form follows function – that has
been misunderstood. Form and
function should be one, joined in a

spiritual union.

FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT

ST. PETERSBURG COLLEGE EPICENTER

This 131,000 sq. ft. joint-use facility shared by St. Petersburg College and Pinellas County provides office and meeting areas
for St. Petersburg College staff, and the staff of four Pinellas County Government departments. A variety of classroom and lab
spaces were designed to support creative business planning and problem solving. The Cyber Café, the EpiCenter’s in-house
food service facility, offers wireless internet connection and plasma screen televisions.

DUNEDIN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Dunedin Elementary School features a strong, clear organization of buildings: a single story cafetorium/multipurpose building,
two-story classroom buildings creating a central courtyard, and an administration/media center building with classrooms on
the first and second floors. The school consists of approximately 97,500 gross square feet, including two prekindergarten, six
kindergarten, 18 primary, 10 intermediate, six ESE, and four resource classrooms with related building and site improvements.
The cafeto-rium/multipurpose room building is single story construction, while the rest of the school is two stories.

SHORE ACRES ELEMENTARY

This project included 72,000 sq. ft. of new construction providing administration areas, classrooms, a cafetorium, multi-purpose
room, music, art and PE spaces and 12,800 sq. ft. of renovations to the existing media center and ESE buildings. The capacity
of this school is 715 students. Also included was site work for new athletic fields, playgrounds, parking, bus and parent pick-up
loops. The school’s chronic flooding problem was corrected by raising the site above the 100-year flood plain in this low-lying
area of northeast St. Petersburg.

OUTOFDOOR ACADEMY STEM & STUDENT CENTER

The Out-of-Door Academy’s 20,000 sq. ft. Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Student Center includes
state-of-the-art, high-tech teaching labs and classrooms. Specific features to the design included a large student commons
area, writing lab, tech center, cyber cafe, collaborative workspace, study rooms, offices and multi-purpose indoor and
outdoor program spaces. Although this building is contemporary, it still has materials and details of the same architectural
vocabulary as the existing buildings on the campus, such as standing seam metal roofs, thin columns with diagonal struts and
cement plaster exterior finish.

STETSON UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF LAW

FleischmanGarcia completed the design of the administration building on the Stetson University College of Law’s new Tampa
campus, as well as a Master Plan of the 6.3 acre old police station site on Tampa Street. The design consisted of a three-
story, 73,000 sq. ft. academic/administration building that overlooks the campus quadrangle. It included a full courtroom
facility that is utilized by faculty and students for mock trials. The courtroom is also used by the Florida Second District Court
of Appeals for actual hearings.

PATRICIA SULLIVAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The design of the 19,375 sq. ft. school is compatible with the surrounding historic neighborhood and the Metropolitan
Ministries campus. It includes an iconic tower structure, large classroom windows on the north façade, and an arched entry
feature facing Florida Avenue. A U-shaped plan was conceived to provide a shaded and secured courtyard around an
existing large oak tree, with a brick arched covered walkway around its perimeter. All eight classrooms, the Media Center,
and the administration and reception area open directly into this courtyard.
