"LUNCH TIME"

One day in a school, all students were required
to go with their own lunch box at school.
“Everyone, listen! I have got a very nice
announcement for you to know.” Miss Pimento
shouted. The students looked very curious
about what Miss Pimento was going to tell.
“Starting tomorrow, you all are required to
make your own lunch at home and bring your
own lunch box to school. There will be lunch
time at the school where you can have lunch
together with your friends!”
“HUURRAAAYYYYYY” Surprisingly, the students
were really excited to do so.

On the next day, at the lunch time, each student had
different meal for lunch. They did not only eat their own
lunch, but also let each other to taste their lunch. As a
result, they always found new lunch ingredients or ideas to
bring up on the next lunch time.
But there was a student named Carla having a very unique
lunch of sandwich. Buster noticed at first.
“EEEWWW!! What is it? What are you eating Carla?” Buster
asked. “It’s green and slimy!” he added. “It’s an olive, pickle, and
green bean sandwich,” said Carla. “It is super delicious
sandwich and I made it myself. Would you like to try? I
brought extra.”

“No way!” said Buster, pinching his
nose. “That’s gross!” “It’s not gross,”
said Carla. “It’s different. I like to
be different.”
“How come! It is not different,” said
Buster again to Carla. “It’s gross.”

to wonder what sandwich she
would bring for tomorrow and
she wondered how her mother
made the ugly-look sandwiches
but very tasteful. She asked
her mother how she made it.
Her mother began talking
about how she made the
sandwich.
“All we need are only two slices
of bread, some lettuce, a slice
of tomato, a slice of cheese
cheddar, lunch meat, and you
can add your own mustard,
12mayo, or sauce. It's up to you.”
Carla replied to her mother,
“isn’t that just like any other
sandwiches, Mom? Do you use a special technique for your
sandwich?”.
Her mother answered, “Of course, it needs a special
technique my dear, the most important thing is you put the
bread aside, then u put all the other ingredients in one
place, then smack them together until they all mix and
become one ingredient. After that, you put the mixed
ingredients between the two pieces of bread. That is all
you need, honey I hope you understand”.
Carla replied “Okay Mom, I get it, maybe next time I can do
it by myself, but can you make a lot of sandwiches for my
whole friends in the class mom? Everybody is so curious
about the sandwiches because the looks of it are not
really good, but it is surprisingly so delicious”.
13
Carla’s mom answered “REALLY? WOW I’M SO AMAZED
THAT EVERYONE LIKES IT. Okay I’ll make it but it takes a
lot of energy and people to do it in one night, I think we

sandwiches would be brought by Carla’s Mom at 10. After
they arrived at school, everyone asked Carla about her

“Do you bring the sandwich Carla?” said one of her friends.
“How does it taste? I’m so curious.” asked another friend.
“Why did it look like that?” asked the other friend.

They began to share the sandwiches and after that, they began to eat
those 25 sandwiches that were made by Carla & Melissa. They ate the
sandwich, bite after bite, they really enjoyed the taste of it. However,

“Carla! What kind of sandwiches did you let 27
your friends eat? It is so much better to
bring a tomato & cheese sandwich, pastrami,
meatball sub, peanut butter & jelly sandwich,
or grilled cheese sandwich than these weird-
looking sandwiches.”
“I do not know…” said Carla very quietly and
she was holding her tears, did not want to cry.
“Excuse me!” Carla’s mom suddenly said and the
whole class looked at her.
“MOOMMMYYY!!” Carla ran and hugged her mom.
She was sobbing. “I thought the sandwiches
were good. But why?! I just do not know,” she
spoke to her mom crying.
“It’s fine, dear, it is not your fault,” Carla’s
mom said.
“What is actually going on, Miss Pimento?” she
asked.
“Her friends had a stomach ache right after 28
eating Carla’s sandwiches. What did you put
inside the sandwiches, madam? Don’t you think
that eating normal sandwiches like peanut
butter & jelly sandwiches is much better?”
“HHMMMM.. you know what? It is not Carla's
sandwich causing a stomach ache. Hold on, I
will be right back and show you something.”
“What?!” Miss Pimento was shocked.
“Just wait,” Carla’s mom added.
Surprisingly, Carla’s mom had another box of
sandwiches made by herself. She actually saw
Carla getting a stomach ache after eating the
sandwich the previous night. She thought it was
normal until she checked the hidden camera of
the house. She brought both the other box of
sandwiches and the recording with her to the
school.

Knowing that Melissa was the one who 30
caused the stomach ache, Miss Pimento
asked Melissa and Carla to come to the
teacher room.
“Melissa, Carla, sit down!” Miss Pimento
instructed. “Melissa, do you know why I
asked you to come here? You know your
mistakes, don’t you?” Miss Pimento said
angrily.
“I.. am.. sorry.. Miss Pimento..” Melissa
said quietly. “Sorry, Carla,” she added. “I
was just jealous why my sandwiches
were not as delicious as yours.”
“You did make a serious mistake, Melissa.
Did you see your friends going in and out
of the toilet? What if they need to be
hospitalized, huh? I am planning to move
you to another school.” Miss Pimento
said.
“HAA?? NOOOO. Miss Pimento, I am begging, please, don’t..!!”
Melissa was sobbing. “I promise I will never do it anymore!
I promise!”
“Only if Carla has forgiven you.” Miss Pimento said lightly.
Melissa could not stop crying knowing that she would be
moved for what she had done. She did apologize to Carla
to cancel Miss Pimento’s decision.
“You actually don’t have to apologize to me, Melissa.
Apologize to our friends, instead,” said Carla kindly.

Carla was so kind that she decided to forgive Melissa. Therefore, Miss
Pimento would also cancel moving Melissa to another school. Carla and
Melissa were basically best friends. They went to school, went home, and
had lunch together. Even they played together on weekends.
