Soil and material specialist seconded to GCS Sdn. Bhd. A consultant for the Sapi-
Nangoh Road Construction Project. Stationed quality control and all aspects of the
geotechnical problems arose during the construction period.

SDN. BHD. In-charge of all geological/geotechnical/ground water aspects of
projects undertaken by the firm.

An authority of the geotechnical environment and geotechnical characteristics of
Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan and Tawau areas through extensive studies and site visit

GEOLOGICAL AND MATERIAL INVESTIGATION FOR THE
KIRAGAWAN DAM

• Involved in the studies of cores recovered from all branches, inspection and
logging of all boreholes, trial pits and tenches, mapping and preparation of the
final report submitted to Watson Hawksley, and authority in water supply based
in United Kingdom.

DRAINAGE AND SEWERAGE STUDIES

• Involved in the geotechnical analysis and report preparation for the sewerage
projects undertaken by the firm in Kota Kinabalu, Lahad Datu, Sandakan and
Tawau.

CONSTRUCTION OF PRESSURE RELIFE WELLS AT SILAM. LAHAD
DATU

• Full time site supervision during construction of five (5) numbers of pressure
relied wells.

CONSTRUCTION OF A WATER WELL AT PECKY VALLEY, SANDAKAN

• Involved in the preliminary study, design and construction of the 14” diameter
feet deep water well for JKR.

SAPI-NANGOH ROAD PROJECT

• Working closely with GCS Sdn Bhd., consulting engineers as engineering
geologist for the engineering design of the 34km highway financed by the
World Bank. Duties involved route selection, detailed assessment, of rock
formations exposed along the proposed alignment, evaluation of cut slope
design based on measurement and evaluation of existing slopes. Supervision of
geotechnical and preparation of soils and materials report etc.

SANDAKAN WATER SUPPLY EXTENSION SCEME-STAGE 1

• Involved in all geotechnical aspects of the project, including ground water
potential studies involving drilling of some 10 exploratory water wells,
developing and test pumping etc, also involved in the foundation exploration for
the pump house and treatment plant at Bukit Garam; mapping and supervision
of between Bukit Garam and Sandakan town.

KOTA KONABALU WAYER SUPPLY

• Mapping of the pipeline route and supervision of the insitu field testing for
establishing the bearing capacity of the subsoil as well as rip ability of the
weathered bedrock along the route for the installation of pipes.

LAHAD DATU WATER SUPPLY

• Supervision of sub-surface investigation for this project at Sepagaya Dam,
working closely with the engineer of SSP of Kualah Lumpur, including details
core logging and insitu packer permeability testing etc.

NABAWAN WATER SUPPLY

• Supervised and conducted pioneer ground water exploration within the
Nabawan Basin to assess the possibility of ground water extraction for the
sttelement scheme. Also supervised sub-surface and material investigation for
the Nabawan Impounding Reservoir site.

LABUAN WATER SUPPLY

Site engineering geologist coordinators for the sub-soil investigation for the Labuan
Water Supply site investigation. The project included some 25nos. of boreholes with
piezometer instrumentation, test pits and insitu material testing for three potential
dam sites.

MENGATAL URBAN CENTER DEVELOPMENT SCHEME

GEOTECHNICAL ASSESSMENT OF SUB-SOIL CONDITIONS FOR THE 700
ACRES Kuala Inanam Development Scheme, including field instrumentation and
monitoring of ground settlement and movement etc.

KOTA RAYA DEVELOPMENT, MENGGATAL

• Supervision of drilling of drilling of 10nos. of boreholes, mapping of the entire
site and provision of recommendation on the earthwork.

KUALA INANAM DEVELOPMENT SCHEME

• Geotechnical assessment of sub-soil condition for the 700 acres Kuala Lumpur
Development Scheme, including field instrumentation and monitoring of ground
settlement and movement etc.

SANDAKAN PRE-PLANNING STUDY

• Involving in the geotechnical zoning of Sandakan area for the project, and the
study and location of natural resources i.e. rock, sand and clay etc. in the area.

SIPITANG PULP AND PAPER MILL

• Co-ordination and supervision of insitu testing and geotechnical assessment of
the project site for the client, Sabah Forest Industries Sdn. Bhd., working hand
in hand with the client’s supervising geotechnical engineer, Terratech of Canada.

SIPITANG JETTY

• Involved in the geotechnical assessment of sub soil conditions for the proposed
jetty.

SINAR TRAINING CENTER, KUNDASANG

• Carried out geotechnical mapping of the 150 acre site situated on the Pinusok
Plateau, Kundasang; geotechnical assessment of the sub-soil condutions prior to
and during the development stage of the project. Working closely with engineers
of RMJM of United Kingdom

• Involved in supervision an co-ordination of insitu field testing and drilling at

selected bridges sites and along the Telupid- Sandakan and Lahad Datu road,
working closely with the soil engineer Minco.
SINDUMIN/LONG PA SIA ROAD
• Involved in mapping of the road alignment and supervision of insitu testing and
drilling.
LABUAN SUPPLY BASE, RANCHA-RANCHA
• Geotechnical assessment and supervision of some 15 land-based and 7 marine-
bases boreholes, at Rancaha-Rancha, Labuan.
SAMA TIMBER EXPORT TERMINAL, SEPANGAR BAY
• Supervision and geotechnical assessment of subsoil investigation involving
drilling of 8 nos. boreholes and 20 nos. of insitu Dutch cone penetrometer test
for the client, SAMA.
SEPANGAR POWER STATION
• Co-ordination and supervision of surveying and sub-surface investigation for the
16 acre SEB Sepangar Power Station.
