The Wolf & the Lamb

Once upon a time a Wolf was lapping at a stream.
กาลครัง้ หนง่ึ นานมาแล้ว มีหมาป่ าตวั หนง่ึ กาลงั แลบลนิ ้ กินนา้ อยู่่่ท ่ีลาราร

When he looked up, he saw a Lamb drinking a little lower
down.
เมื่อยูมนั เง่หน้าขนึ ้ เจ้าหมาป่ ามอยูงเห็นลกท แกะตวั หนงึ่ กาลงั ดมื่ นา้ เช่นกันหา่ งจากมนั ต่าลงไป

“There’s my supper,” he thought,
“น่ีคอื ยูอยูาหารมือ้ยูเ่็นขอยูงข้า” หมาป่ าคดิ

“I will find some excuse to catch it.”
ข้าจะหาข้อยูอยู้างบางอยู่า่ งเพอื่ ยูจบั เจ้าลกท แกะตวั มากินนนั้ หห้ได้

Then he called out to the Lamb, “How dare you muddle the
water?”

จากนนั้ เจ้าหมาป่ าจงึ ร้อยูงตะโกนไป่งั ลกท แกะวา่ “เจ้ากล้าด่ี งั ไงถงึ ได้มากวนนา้ ”

“No, master,” said Lamb,
“เปลา่ น่ะ หนเท ปลา่ กวนนา้ , นา่ ” ลกท แกะตอยูบ

“I cannot muddle your water because it

runs down from you to me.”
“หนไท ม่สามารถกวนนา้ ขอยูง่า่ นได้หรอยูกเพราะนา้ มนั ไหลจาก
ตาแหน่งขอยูง่า่ นลงมา่งั ตาแหน่ง่ี่หนอท ยู่่”ท

“Well, then,” said the Wolf, “Why did you call

me bad names this time last year?”
“เอยูอ่ ยู ถ้าอยู่่างนนั้ ” หมาป่ าพดท “แล้ววนั นีเ้มอื่ ยูปี กลา่เจ้าดา่ วา่ ข้า่าไม”

“It was impossible,” said the Lamb, “I am

only six months old.”
“มนั เป็นไปไมไ่ ด้หรอยูก่า่ น” ลกท แกะแ่้งขนึ ้ “หนเท พง่ิ จะอยูาุ่ 6
เดือยูนเ่า่ นนั้ ”

“I don’t care,” shouted the Wolf, “If it was not you, it

must be your father.” After that he rushed at the poor
little Lamb and ate it up.
“ข้าไม่สนหจหรอยูก” หมาป่ าตะหวาด “ถ้าไมห่ ชเ่ จ้า มนั กต็ ้อยูงเป็นพอ่ ยูขอยูงเจ้านนั่ แห
ละ่ ” จากนนั้ มนั ก็วง่ิ เข้าตะครุบลกท แกะน้อยู่ผ้นท ่าสงสารตวั นนั้ และกินมนั เป็นอยูาหาร

นิทานเร่ืองน้ีสอนใหร้ ู้วา่
“The tyrant will always find a pretext for his tyranny.”
“คนชวั่ ท่ีมีอานาจเหนือกวา่ มกั มีขอ้ อา้ งเพอ่ื กดข่ีผอู้ ่ืนเสมอ”
