In the principle, environmental journalism has same format to another journalism. However, the difference is
a central issue in the news, coverage of environmental journalism focused on text production from the reality of
environment such as the environmental damage caused of human error (pollution, flooding, landslides, and
deforestation), local wisdom, conservation, waste, nature resource. According to categorization from Flournoy,
environmental news consist of (Flournoy, 1989).
Most people know about environmental degradation such as deforestation, pollution industrial waste and the
greenhouse effect through newspapers and television. But most environmentalists are not satisfied with the
environmental news in newspapers and on television. The main discussion in this paper, invites critical discussion
about the concept of environmental journalism.
Existing environmental journalism frequently makes the following three errors: (a) a lack of information
relevant to the background of disasters, such as many journalists incorrectly providing the location of disaster
terms; (b) headlines and news content that frequently mislead the disaster community; and (c) a lack of awareness
of the risk of disaster reporting, both for the community and the journalist himself. The discourse on
environmental news reporting is influenced by a combination of spatial, temporal, and cultural factors related to
construction and commodification. The implementation of environmental journalism needs to pay attention to the
ethics and regulations of coverage and five basic things, namely: 1) information relevant to the background of
environmental cases; 2) news material that often clears situations or becomes mediation; 3) paying attention to
the risk of reporting from environmental cases; 4) knowledge of the environment; and 5) cultural values of the
community or environmental cases.

Writing Section
Basically, all journals are the same, and what distinguishes them is the content, or what is discussed in
them. The text informs us that environmental news lovers are not happy with most of the news circulating in
society, be it from newspapers or television. Because most of the news that was conveyed did not include the
background of why the tragedy or disaster could occur; sometimes even the time and location did not match the
facts. And in this text, the author also hopes that journalism organizers can pay more attention to ethics and
reporting rules so that there are no errors in the news to be published.

such as telling their feelings. Then, teenagers can also rebel because they feel they are not children anymore.
Usually teenagers already have a lot of admired, but the attitude is not always negative. Adolescents are also
attracted to peer groups, seek attention in the environment, emotional overflows and rapid physical growth.
Education for youth is to help them demonstrate their skills. Skills are in-depth knowledge of a particular field
that can lead us to a glorious career path. If we have a lot of knowledge, we will get a decent job. All youth must
attend school. Because, in the era of globalization it is hoped that the younger generation can develop the
knowledge they have so that they are not out of date. That is the importance of being someone who is well

Mobile Banking on the Increase in Developing Countries
Mobile banking is becoming more and more popular in countries of the Third World. While in developed
countries almost all people have bank accounts, only a small part of the population in underdeveloped countries
has access to banks. In mobile banking, a person who wants to send money does so by sending the amount via
text to the receiver’s phone number. The person who receives the money goes to an authorized local shop and
withdraws the cash.
There are many examples of mobile banking in the Third World. Hospitals in Tanzania send money to women so
that they can pay for the bus fare to the hospital. In Afghanistan, the government pays its policemen by mobile
phone. Coffee plantation owners in East Africa send workers their money via text. Mobile banking has become
popular where there are few banks but where most of the people have a mobile phone. The potential market is
especially large in South America where only 35% of the people have bank accounts but 90% have mobile phones.
Many mobile phone companies are taking over banking services in underdeveloped countries. In the last two
years, almost one million people in six African countries have signed up with European mobile operator Orange.
In Kenya and Tanzania, British operator Vodaphone has 20 million customers who send money to other people
in the country and abroad.
In Pakistan, Norwegian mobile phone company Telenor has been offering mobile banking since 2008. People can
withdraw money at almost 11,000 shops throughout the country. Pakistan itself has only a little over 8,000 banks.
Money transfers are limited to $120, with Telenor taking 5% of the amount. The number of mobile banking
customers is expected to rise in Third World countries from currently 60 million to almost a billion in 2015. Over
80% of these costumes live in Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
In the developed world mobile banking has not become a serious option because most customers have bank
accounts and transfer their money via Internet banking. As more and more Americans and Europeans buy
smartphones mobile banking will probably increase.
After Reading

1. In mobile banking a person sending money does so by simply sending the amount via text to the recipient's
phone number (True/False)
2. Mobile banking has become popular where few people have cell phones (True/False)
3. In Kenya and Tanzania, British operator Vodafone has no customers sending money to other people in
the country and abroad (True/False)
4. The number of mobile banking subscribers is expected to increase in World countries (True/False)
5. In developed countries, mobile banking has become a serious choice (True/False)
B. Writing Section (Opinion On The Reading Above)
As we know, in this rapidly developing era, there must be a lot of new technologies and features
that will emerge, especially in developing countries. Mobile banking for example, mobile banking is
becoming increasingly popular in Third World countries. We can easily receive and send some money
remotely by simply texting to the intended number and we can withdraw money by coming to the nearest
shop or money withdrawal place. This makes it very easy for us, especially in times of urgency, but mobile
banking can only be used via a cellphone, so if someone already has an account but doesn't have a
cellphone, they cannot access mobile banking. Many countries have become mobile banking customers
including America, Africa, Pakistan, Tanzania, Norway. It is thought that the number of mobile banking
customers will increase in Third World countries, but in developed countries mobile banking is not yet a
serious option because most customers have bank accounts and transfer their money via internet banking.

High Blood Pressure – A Silent Killer
According to the World Health Organization over a billion adults around the world suffer from high blood
pressure. It is now taking steps to fight against what is called a silent killer. High blood pressure can lead to
strokes and heart attacks.
Almost 10 million people die of these two diseases every year. They are the number one cause of death globally.
High blood pressure also leads to kidney failure, blindness, and other illnesses. It often goes hand in hand with
diabetes and obesity, which increases health risks even further.
As the WHO reports, people in developing countries in Africa suffer more from high blood pressure than people
in developed countries. The reason is that health care in the developed world is much better organized and
people go to the doctor soon enough.
High blood pressure should never be ignored and always be taken seriously. It is a warning sign from your body
that something is not OK. Although people may live with high blood pressure for years without even knowing
it, it is important to check your blood pressure regularly and take the necessary steps. The WHO says that you
can reduce your blood pressure by changing your living habits. Eating a balanced diet, exercising regularly, and
avoiding alcohol and nicotine are some things that you can do without consulting a doctor. (KESEHATAN

As we know that high blood pressure or hypertension cannot be ignored. The fact that hypertension
can cause death has been proven. Blood pressure is the force of the blood to pump blood from the heart
through the arteries. And, hypertension is a condition when blood pressure rises. Blood pressure that is
too high will then interfere with blood circulation, and cause other diseases, one of which is heart disease.
And even hypertension is called the silent killer because the symptoms are often without complaint.
Usually, sufferers do not know that they have hypertension and are only discovered after complications
occur. After we know that the disease is very dangerous, of course there are many things that we need to
pay attention to, there are several ways we can do to reduce the risk of getting high blood pressure. You
can reduce it by checking your blood pressure regularly, maintaining an ideal body weight, reducing salt
consumption, don't smoking, exercising regularly; live regularly, reduce stress, don't rush, and avoid fatty

Positive and Negative Impacts of Technology on Society
It was just over a decade ago when cell phones were primarily used for calling and sending texts. Today, the uses
of cell phones run the gamut. Phones do everything from taking high-resolution pictures to watching pixel-perfect
videos, browsing the internet to playing graphic-intensive games to monitoring your movements. It’s astonishing
at how this small device can handle demanding tasks in addition to fulfilling basic communication needs.
The advent of smartphones has simplified our lives immensely. People now connect with their loved ones more
frequently and easily through video calls and instant messaging services. Tasks, like creating slides, reading
emails, and creating documents don’t require a PC anymore. In a nutshell, smartphone and apps have changed
the way we work, communicate and play. In addition, the booming expansion of e-commerce and internet-based
companies is directly proportional to the rapid proliferation of smartphones.
While the smartphone revolution has made our lives easy, it has also made us lazy. Today, the whole world is at
our fingertips, and thus we don’t have to work or move around like we did previously to get things done. Our
inactive lifestyle and lack of physical activities can be partly attributed to the over-dependence on smartphones.
This is especially true for the younger generation, who are constantly glued to their cell phones. Cell phone
addiction is having a negative impact on our lives. Care needs to be taken to deal with this issue in an effective
way.

3. False, because addiction to mobile phones regardless of age, many old people are also addicted to mobile

4. False, because smartphones have computer-like features that can send and receive emails.
5. True.
B. Writing Section (Opinion on the Reading Above)
Technology will always develop over time. Technology brings many positive sides to human life, such as
making work easier and more. By technology, distance is not an obstacle to continuing to communicate with the
people we love, because today's technology has made it possible for us to connect with people from all over the
world. Even in the future, maybe the way humans communicate can be more sophisticated than now. However,
although technology has many positive sides, it cannot be denied that technology also has negative sides. There
have been many cases of people being addicted to mobile phones which interfere with their daily lives. This goes
back to how we respond to technological developments.
