( PART 1 )
POST-PANDEMIC
REFLECTIONS
When we face changes in our environment,
when the times are changing
Isaiah 6 : 1-3
can calm our
turbulent and troubled hearts
Our Lord sits on the highest of all thrones, Isaiah 6 : 1-3
the One who is exalted as holy,
whose glory fills the whole earth.
Rick Since the beginning of the Apostolic era
till today the Covid-19 pandemic has
brought an unprecedented experience to
the Christian Church
Warren For the first time in 2000 years, believers all
around the would were unable to celebrate
Easter nor observe the Lord’s Day in a
physical gathering

However is
God’s unwavering
Sovereignty
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear,
though the earth gives way and
the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam and
the mountains quake with their surging.
Psalm 46 : 1-3
The
Covid - 19 has dealt a heavy blow to
pandemic countries all around the world
It has made mankind realise the turmoil and uncertainty
that exists in this world
As well as awakened us,
as Christians
to examine to examine
our own weaknesses our faulty beliefs
So, what are the old norms
we should get rid of
and
the new norms that
should be upheld and practised?
The Church
exists for worship
THE CHURCH NEEDS TO GET RID OF THE“OLD NORM”
Does the
Church solely
exist for Sunday worship ?
If
yes
then the Church together with our faith
would have disappeared
due to the suspension of physical meetings
when the Movement Control Order was implemented
Of course, that’s not the case
Rather, during the pandemic,
Christians found more important things, that must be done
online Bible studies
group meetings
staying in contact with brothers using video calls
and sisters in Christ helping those
who are in need
This doesn’t mean that
physical meetings aren’t important
Worship is an integral part of church
life, but it’s not the only function.
And let us consider how to stir up
one another to love and good works,
not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some,
but encouraging one another,
and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
Hebrews 10 : 24-25
Will life get
back on track?
THE CHURCH NEEDS TO GET RID OF THE“OLD NORM”
Some people believe that one day the pandemic will disappear completely
and everyone can
go back to their past routines
However, reality is not as expected
In fact, life is quite unpredictable.
Just like what the author of Ecclesiastes said:
“No one can predict when disaster will come.”
The so-called positive thinking is
futile if it’s based on vague and
unrealistic hopes
Only God can give us
true peace and reassurance
I will say of the Lord,
“He is my refuge and my fortress, my God,
in whom I trust.”
Psalms 91 : 2
Is it possible not
to rely on anyone?
THE CHURCH NEEDS TO GET RID OF THE“OLD NORM”
The Covid-19 pandemic has shown that to
some extent, our
wealth abilities intelligence skills
,are not enough to get us out of trouble.
Ultimately
we still need
the help of others
The fight against the pandemic has taught us
that it is impossible to accomplish things
relying purely on our own strengths
All of
society
must
cooperate else everyone will suffer
Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labour:
If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
Ecclesiastes 4 : 9 - 10
Did we choose
to be selfish?
THE CHURCH NEEDS TO GET RID OF THE“OLD NORM”
Covid-19 has exposed the
weaknesses
of many people
Did we choose to be selfish? Or not?
During the pandemic, increasing
health risks
the
elderly
suffered from
shortage of being unfamiliar
medical supplies with technology
The ravages of the epidemic have left many industries
Dying
It is time to lend a hand
to those in distress who have
nowhere to turn for help
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit.
Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,
not looking to your own interests
but each of you to the interests of the others.
Philippians 2 : 3 - 4
Will our lives be
stable if the country
is prosperous?
THE CHURCH NEEDS TO GET RID OF THE“OLD NORM”
We must realize that in the face of the virus, everyone is equal
Even if our country has rigorous
pandemic prevention measures
it is unable to completely prevent
the spread of the virus
1 4
Does the church exist Is it more blessed to give then receive?
only for worship purposes?
5
2
Do you believe that if the county
Was life before the pandemic flourishes, the people will be at peace?
only considered a normal life?
Summary
3
Is relying on yourself the most practical?
Only God can be our
eternal assurance.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
Psalms 18 : 2
