MINSTER CHRISTMAS 2021

As you read this, we are only 7 months away from Minster village getting dressed

ready for Christmas. Village tree by the Church will be up and lit. The shop trees

will be going up. The alternative tree should also be up. The question I am asking NORTHROP SERVICES
is “WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE IN MINSTER THIS CHRISTMAS??”. Now is KITCHEN & BATHROOM FITTING
the time to seriously think about it.

Ideas and suggestions are very welcome. Nothing happens straight away. Planning & General Maintenance

Many younger adults from the village may remember the Santa who came around

Prompt Corner

Welcome back to the Playhouse

What a relief it is to be able to write some news about the Playhouse,

as a small return towards normality for us all, and to have something

to report at last.

Last year at the start of the first lockdown we were preparing to put
on a light-hearted comedy, Duets, by Peter Quilter. We are intending

to put this play back into rehearsal with the lifting of Covid

restrictions in June. We have booked to perform the play at the

Village Hall from Wednesday 8th to Saturday 11th September at

7.30pm.

By coincidence, this play

lends itself well to the

prevailing Covid

restrictions since it

consists of two Acts, each

of two scenes, each scene

being a short play in itself

with two actors.

It will be played to an

audience seated at tables

with appropriate

distancing, and the

audience will be invited to

bring food and drink for

the interval if they wish.

For this reason, we may

be restricted in numbers,

and so early booking is

advised but no payment

will be required until

approximately two weeks prior to the performance.

We hope to be able to put on the usual Christmas

pantomime this autumn, circumstances permitting.

As always, we are looking for new members of the

Playhouse, not just to act, but also to assist in

Property Management Services putting our productions on. Obviously, we find
Lettings – Sales – Land staging plays to be a fun and engaging hobby, and

HELLO
I probably don’t need to introduce myself as most of you already know me however, there still
may be some of you who don’t.
I am Debbie Forsyth and I now have the pleasure of announcing that I am your new resident
PCSO. The familiar face of PCSO BUTTERWORTH or ‘Bigwig’ as I like to call him, has had to move
on and I am now left to fill some very big shoes! It is because of the many connections and the
affinity that I have with the village that I was given the opportunity and to my Sergeant I am very
grateful.
In truth I jumped at the chance as I absolutely love Minster - I should also add that I will be taking Monkton back
and keeping Manston so I have the three M’s. As you are aware our job involves us embedding ourselves into our
communities and luckily for me, thanks to Village Voices Choir, I feel that the groundwork has been set for me to be
able to ensure that you all have a friendly trusting face that you can speak to at any time.
I also have the massive advantage of having The Marvellous Mr O as one of my contacts and I know where he lives!
I shall also endeavour to meet with Karl the warden and continue the partner agency working which is invaluable,
particularly in a village.
All that remains for me to say is I look forward to meeting many more of you and seeing all of the familiar faces.
Stay safe
Debbie
