PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
The main components which characterise the pump are a
metallic single helical rotary part ROTOR and fixed dou-
ble helical resilient polymer part STATOR in which the
rotor turns and thereby a complex progressive sealing line
(cspl) is maintained. Whilst the rotor rotates inside the
stator, the cavities formed between them progresses from
suction to discharge end, gently carrying the media.

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT DIAPHRAGM PUMPS
The Finsbury heavy duty construction 2” diaphragm pump is a true

workhorse and is designed for continuous duty and suitable for

construction and industrial work. These pumps are ideal for the

large or small contractor and are made expressly for pumping liquids

with abrasive quantities in suspension.

Typical applications include trench and work site dewatering and for manure A3DP E1.5 2” Diaphragm pump shown
handling and septic tank cleaning. These pumps will handle up to 30% solids without valves but with an 1.5kw single
and are positively self priming. With the dry running or snoring capability phase motor and gearbox
these pumps are ideal for excavation work where the pump acts as a guard
against flooding and keeps the area dry. Solidly constructed with heavy duty
aluminium alloy casing and inlet / outlets. Available complete with a variety

FDP SERIES - GENERAL USE DIAPHRAGM PUMPS

The Finsbury FDP series diaphragm pump is a general use pump designed
for continuous duty and is also suitable for construction and industrial
work. These pumps are manufactured for applications involving the
pumping of liquids with abrasive quantities in suspension. Solidly
constructed with heavy duty aluminium alloy casing and inlet / outlets.

Available complete with a variety of electric and petrol drive options that

are easily maintained for a long service life. These pumps come in 5

different (inlet / outlet) sizes of 25, 32, 38, 50 and 76mm. All pumps can

optionally be fitted in a roll frame or a frame with carry handle for portable

units. A special gearbox is provided with each pump so that the unit operates FDP50H with 4hp

to wear, these pumps have a snore capability therefore these pumps can be run dry without damage.

options for the valve seat, diaphragm & balls. The combination of these high quality materials together with the choice of different
pump materials give the optimum pump selection.
• Acetal - Wide range of solvent resistant and withstands extreme fatigue. Good level of abrasion resistance. Electrical conductive,

for use in explosive atmospheres.
• Santoprene - Good resistance to abrasive and chemical fluids. Santoprene is compatible with some solvents (e.g. Acetone, MEK),

caustic solutions, dilute acids and alcohols.
• Teflon - (PTFE) Most compatible material for chemical applications, extremely resistant to corrosion and high temperatures, very

low friction coefficient, non-adhesive.
• Thermoplastic polyester - (Hytrel) Good performance properties at lower temperatures and good resistance to abrasive fluids.

Thermoplastic polyester is often a substitute for Buna-N.
• Fluorelastomers - (Viton) High heat resistance. Good resistance to aggressive chemicals including acids and some solvents. (e.g.

xylene and mineral spirits). Good resistance to steam as well as animal, vegetable and petroleum oils. Resists unleaded fuels.
• Geolast - Good abrasion resistance. Approximately same chemical compatibility as Buna-N.
• Polychloroprene - (Neoprene) Good chemical resistance, good performance with oils and many chemicals, good temperature

resistance, outstanding physical toughness, outstanding resistance to damage caused by flexing and twisting. Resistance to
abrasion is approximately 30% higher than Buna.
• EPDM - Good water and chemical resistance. Not for use with oils, greases and most solvents.
• BUNA - Good for petroleum-based fluids, water, oils, hydrocarbons and mild chemicals (e.g. mineral spirits).

MINETUFF DEWATERING PUMPS

The Minetuff submersible dewatering pump has been designed for harsh mining & construction type environments.
The pump wet end is standard polyurethane coated for extra wear protection against sand, silt and fines. A true
workhorse of any underground mining operation, its design has been tried and proven. Complete with a double
cemented Tungsten Carbide mechanical seal contained in an oil chamber. Because of the design, the heavy duty
ball bearing motor is cooled by the pumped water, therefore this pump can be operated partially immersed.

Today, Solar pumping systems are becoming more and more popular and are being
applied to daily use for pumping underground water, irrigation, animal husbandry,
water supplies, wastewater pumping and treatment. Solar pumping systems are
being used more and more by councils, farmers, resorts and hotels, in landscaping
and fountain systems, actually they are used in most areas in society.

The most economical Solar systems in use are based on a direct input / output
design philosophy, i.e. there are no energy storing devices such as batteries in the
system nor are they connected to the electrical mains supply system. Therefore
these stand alone Solar systems are ideal for remote locations where there is no
mains supply available. The basic Solar system is composed of a solar array, a
pump and a pump controller.
