51 Menith Wood WI I have just noticed a mistake in my write up for the July/August issue of the magazine in that our June meeting was when Judy Hulland J.P. spoke to us. Our July meeting is always a garden one, and this year was held in our garden in Eardiston. We had hoped for a gloriously sunny summer’s day but this was not to be!! The weather forecast was not good, and so drinks and food were laid out in our kitchen plus chairs, chairs around the table in the dining room, and garden tables and chairs outside (in the hope that at least the rain might pause for a while!) Despite pouring rain between mid-day and 1.00pm, many were able to view our garden in the dry, (with the occasional appearance of the sun), and actually eat lunch outside, whilst some preferred to stay in. All in all, an enjoyable time of catching up with one another in this informal meeting. Our September meeting on Monday 4th will be a cream tea with “Swishing” event (swop of items of clothing/accessories for a £5 cost to participate) – this will be at Menith Wood Old Chapel Hall – 2.15pm for 2.30pm start. Our skittles evenings begin again in September, the first one taking place on Friday 15th at The Eardiston at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start - £2 per person – bring a plate of food to share. Everyone welcome – it’s always great fun. Visitors are always welcome to our WI meetings, and if you would like further information about us and our future programme then please email menithwoodwi@ gmail.com
