Junior High School Girls Shabbaton

This past Shabbat, the JHS girls enjoyed a wonderful Shabbaton at the Raleigh Hotel. Upon
departing YCQ, the girls were off to Sportime USA where they enjoyed spending a fun time
together. At the hotel, there was a special Pre-Shabbat Ruach with singing and dancing. YCQ
was thrilled to have special guest and inspirational speaker, Mrs. Michal Horowitz, join the girls
for this special Shabbaton. The evening continued with a beautiful Kabbalat Shabbat and Divrei
Torah by YCQ students and a lecture by Mrs. Horowitz during the meal. On Shabbat morning,
the girls engaged in learning programs and games with their counselors and more inspirational
words from Mrs. Horowitz. On Saturday night, the girls concluded Shabbat with singing and
dancing at a ruach filled melave malka. Thank you to all the morot, chaperones, Mrs. Michal
Horowitz, and students for making this Shabbaton so special.

2-207 Chumash Presentation

We are proud of class 2-207 for receiving their first Chumash this past
Sunday. They worked so hard rehearsing their parts and practicing the
beautiful songs they performed. The play was about the first days of
creation and each child had a part and costume that had to do with each
day. The class sang, danced, and taught the audience about the creation of
the world. We want to congratulate the class for doing so well and making
their Morot and families very proud. The Chumash play was a success and
they cannot wait to learn the Torah from their new Chumashim. Many
thanks to Morah Leora, Morah Aliza, Morah Tali, Mr. Weinstock, Morah
Maxine, Rabbi Ribalt, Rabbi Hamel, and the PTO volunteers for making this
day so memorable.

2-204 Chumash Presentation

This past Sunday class 2-204 received their Chumashim for the very first
time at the annual Second Grade Chumash Presentation. The class put on a
spectacular play revealing just how much Ivrit they have learned this year.
The play demonstrated how Hashem offered the Torah to many nations, yet
only the Jewish people accepted this beautiful gift from Hashem. After the
play, the children were called up to the stage individually to receive a
Chumash with their name engraved on it and a framed picture taken with
their Morot and principals. Following the ceremony, everyone was invited to
the gym for a collation. Many thanks to Morah Dina, Morah Lia, Morah Tali,
Mr. Weinstock, Morah Maxine, Rabbi Ribalt, Rabbi Hamel, and the PTO
volunteers for helping to make this a special day for this wonderful class.

What’s “Stewing” in Mrs. Kaplan’s Class?

Exciting things have been taking place in Mrs. Kaplan's fourth grade
this month. They learned about Algonquian and Iroquois cultures.
They enjoyed the pow wow and made some fantastic projects to show
what they learned. The class concluded the unit with a special
Iroquois "Three Sisters" stew that the boys made and ate in class.
Agi'a!
