Mishna Siyum
This past week, the Mishna after school club made a beautiful Siyum! The Siyum took place at the
Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills. The boys completed Masechet Bava Kama. It was the

completion of the series of
three Talmudic tractates in
Nezikin that deals with civil
matters such as damages and
torts. The Siyum was
sponsored by Mrs. Robin
Schick in memory of her
parents. Over the course of
the year, the boys learned
Mishnayot every Tuesday
evening after school with Rabbi
Nat until they completed the
entire Masechet. They really
enjoyed learning the Mishnayot
which further enriched their
value of torah knowledge and
Halacha.

Grade 5 Transition Night

The fifth graders experienced a slice of Junior High school on Monday night,
May 23rd, at Transition Night! They participated with their parent(s) in
multiple short workshops detailing social emotional changes, programming,
logistics, and expectations. The students asked wonderful questions and
became familiar with the new building, their upcoming principals, and some of
their potential teachers. Rabbi Landsman spoke about this special milestone
in their life and we are excited to welcome them at the end of the summer
to the next phase in their development! Thank you to Mrs. Marcy Davidovics
and her social worker Mrs. Michali Friedman, as well as Mrs. Golubtchik,
Rabbi Hamel, and Rabbi Landsman for their informative presentations.

Kindergarten End of the Year Trip to Fort Totten Park

On Wednesday, the Kindergarten went on a trip to Fort Totten Park. They played in the
absolutely beautiful playground and went on a bug hunt. They were given books and magnifiers
to help them identify the insects. The Kindergarten students are now experts in the field of
bug hunting! They had a fantastic day! Thank you to the parents who chaperoned and to all
the Morot!

Third Grade Visits the Botanical Garden

On Monday May 25th the third grade classes went on a trip to the Queens Botanical Garden.
The trip was fun and educational. On this perfect sunny day, the children enjoyed a picnic
lunch and went on a tour of the beautiful gardens, which included an actual bee hive, and a
variety of herbs and flowers. They learned about different uses of the flowers and herbs they
observed, and also learned about George Washington Carver, the famous African American

botanist and inventor. The
students were involved in many
hands on activities, such as
making coconut oil/shay butter/
peppermint oil body cream. The
children each received their own
flower pot and planted black eye
pea seeds, which they proudly
took home. A wonderful
experience for all!
