Mitzvah!

JHS Chesed Day

Last Wednesday the sixth and seventh grades went on a Pre-Chanukah Chesed Trip. 6G1 visited Boulevard Assisted Living.
6G2 visited Atria Assisted Living. 6B1 visited Meadow Par Nursing Home. 6B2 visited Cliffside Nursing Home.
7G1 helped out at Bobbie’s Place. 7G2 helped out at Masbia Soup Kitchen. All 7th grade boys visited Bais Ezra
Day Hab. On Thursday, December 22 the eighth grade students were visited at YCQ by the students of HASC. At
the conclusion of the program the students ate lunch at local pizza stores. Special thanks to the teachers who
accompanied each of the trips, and to Mrs. Katz who organized the events! Tizku L’Mizvot!

Bugging Out!!

On Wednesday the kindergarten was visited by two park rangers from Fort Totten Park.
They taught them about bugs and insects. The children learned about the different body
parts of the insects and even learned a song to help them remember. The rangers used
puppets, as well as a live walking stick bug to show the children what an insect looks like
and how they can hide in their surroundings. The children even got to hold the bug. In the
spring they will go to Fort Totten Park for a bug hunt. Bugging out is so much fun!

Classes 1-202 and1-203

Received Their Siddurim

Mazel Tov to Class 1-202 and 1-203 on receiving their very first siddur! We
are so proud of them! They worked very hard, singing their songs,
practicing their parts and rehearsing on stage. The play was executed to
perfection and the songs sounded amazing!! We then watched a slide show
highlighting the children learning and practicing for the play! Then, each
student received an engraved siddur with his or her name on it! We enjoyed
cake and treats and celebrated receiving our siddurim! Mazel tov to all first
graders! Special thanks to Morah Leah, Morah Rivka, Rabbi Ribalt,
Rabbi Hamel, and Morah Tali, for helping us produce such a magnificent
play!
