New Student Program
On Wednesday, September 7th, Mrs. Marcy Davidovics and Ms. Michali Wiener of the Social Work
Department facilitated a new student program welcoming YCQ’s new students. Each new student
was paired with an eighth grade mentor who was handpicked based on his or her leadership qualities.
The program commenced with each mentor introducing himself or herself to one or two new students
by phone and handing a school gift to his or her assigned new students. Together with their mentors,
the new students designed a crafts project in honor of Yom Tov while snacking on cookies and or-
ange juice. Mrs. Davidovics and Rabbi Landsman warmly introduced each student and welcomed
them to the YCQ family. We look forward to a productive and exciting school year!

A Message from Samantha Kramer, PTO President:
Welcome back to all of our YCQ families! The YCQ-PTO is already off
to an amazing start. Our first year using Cubby Stuff, an on-line school
supply company, was a huge success. 130 orange tote bags full of
supplies, labeled with our children’s names, were delivered to
classrooms before the students arrived. We earned about $175 in
proceeds and $88 in pure donations – thank you to all of the parents
who participated! With the money earned, we were able to gift the staff
on their first day of school with a fabulous Kuerig coffee machine and
K-cups to get their year started full of energy! YCQ School Spirit is in
full swing with a new line of Swag – bags, phone wallets, bottles and
hoodies are here!! Get yours today!
JOIN THE YCQ-PTO FOR OUR KICKOFF

YCQ’s 1st Healthy & Wise School-Wide Challenge:
Make a Switch!
I challenge you to make a switch. Switch one unhealthy snack with a
healthy snack. Switch one sweetened drink with an unsweetened or less
sweetened drink. Let’s see if we can start the year off healthier than ever
before!
Cut below the dotted line and bring this form to Morah Aliza. It will be
hung up next to the Healthy & Wise bulletin board on the second floor.
