Preschool Chanukah Plays
This past Thursday December 10th, the preschool classes each performed a
beautiful play. The parents were all invited to see the presentations on which
their children worked so hard!
Fifth Grade Chanukah Chesed Trip
Students in the fifth grade had a unique opportunity to apply their math skills to their lives over Chanukah. On Monday,
December 7th all four classes "shopped" for gifts using store circulars and a budget of $400. Students had fun pretending to
shop for their family members while working within the confines of their budgets. On Wednesday, we were able to shop on a
budget using real money. Students were split into groups and given a budget of $25 to shop at Amazing Savings. Each group
worked well together to choose toys, coloring books, stickers and more to be distributed to sick children through Chai
Lifeline. Thanks to the generosity of parents and staff members, we raised more than $750 to bring some light to the lives of
sick children and their families. Thanks to
Parents Association Chanukah Chagiga!
On Motzai Shabbat, December 12th, the children and parents
celebrated Chanukah at the second annual PTO Chanukah Chagiga. The
children and parents came in to a gym set up with Chanukah Crafts,
Decorate a Sufganiyot and games that were created by students. They
were also treated to a fabulous clown making balloons, and pizza and
drinks that were available for purchase. We had about 300 people in
the packed gym. A fabulous time was had by all! Thank you so much to
our parent volunteers who helped with the planning of this
vent. Thank you, Olga Chathan, Stacey Frank, Sherry Katz, Simon
Landsberg, Gail Reichwald, Lisa Fishbein and YCQ 6th- 8th grade stu-
dents and alumni who came back to help out! A special thank you to
Yair Oxenhandler and Eli Orenbuch for all their hard work throughout
the event and at cleanup! We are definitely looking forward to next
years event! If you enjoyed this one - keep your eyes open for our up-
coming Family Event on February 21st! Special thanks to Mrs. Lisa
Fishbein for all the hard work she put into making it such a huge
success!
Achdut Dance Festival
By: Shira Schwartz – 7th grade
This past Wednesday the 7th grade girls traveled to Yeshiva of Flatbush for the annual achdut dance festival
along with JFS, Millel, Magen David, Flatbush, and several others schools. We participated in a dance to the
song “Bum, Bum, Bum” by Benny Friedman. Our dance included Jews from three different countries around
the world, Russia, India and the United States of America. Each school did their own dance and then we all
joined together for an achdut dance. We raised money for Bobby’s Place as part of our chassed project. After
the dance we competed in trivia and we enjoyed a delicious lunch, where we got to meet the girls from the
other schools. Thank you to Yeshiva of Flatbush for hosting the event and to Morah Beer and Morah Maxine
for accompanying us on our trip. A special Thanks to Mrs. Goldschmit for choreographing our dance and
organizing the event.
