Middot Program
This past Monday, our 5th graders started to learn this month what respect is from a Torah perspective as well as
whom to give respect to, how to give respect, and when to give respect. Concepts such as self-respect, respecting
parents and teachers, complimenting, showing gratitude, and respecting our environment were emphasized.
Sunday Morning Learning
This past Sunday Rabbi Rohr spoke about "What Really Happened at the Yam Suf". He discussed some of the
confusion and different opinions regarding the exact location of Kriat Yam Suf and Har Sinai. The discussion then
focused on some of the amazing miracles that Hashem performed for Bnei Yisrael while they were crossing. The
shiur closed with an incredible insight from some of our greatest sages who explained that really Bnei Yisrael did
not cross the sea to get to the other side (unlike the chicken who did), but rather went through the sea in a
semi-circle and came out farther north on the same side that they began. Overall it was a very enlightening shiur and
helped to deepen our understanding of an event that we first learned about as children.
