Spot Light on New Faculty

After nearly three decades of being a teacher and administrator in Jewish Day
Schools and Independent Schools throughout the country, it is my honor and
great pleasure to be part of the YCQ family. I am so grateful to have the
opportunity to partner with highly qualified and experienced professionals to
provide the very best education to our students. I live in Connecticut and have
three dogs, two cats, a horse, and two beloved children.

Green Meadows Farm

The Kindergarten enjoyed a beautiful day at Green Meadows Farm where
they got to milk a cow, went on a hayride, and even rode on a pony! It was an
exciting day for all the children!

Healthy and Wise

This year we started our Healthy & Wise program with a new book called, “Jack and the Hungry Giant: Eat
Right with MyPlate” by Loreen Leedy. In this book a giant named Waldorf teaches Jack about the 5 Food
Groups and how to make a healthy meal. He reminds Jack to make half his plate fruits and vegetables and the
other half grains and protein. His wife, Zofia, reminds Jack not to forget his dairy foods too. Waldorf also tells
Jack not to eat too much junk food and not to forget to exercise too. After reading the book the students drew
their own healthy meals, making sure to include all the food groups on their plates

A MESSAGE FROM THE YCQ PTO

As Chanukah and Purim approach, please join us in showing our
Hakarat Hatov to the administration, teachers, and staff of the Yeshiva for the
dedication and commitment they show our children everyday.

We ask that you send in your gift of $40 per child, with a cap of $120
per family of 3 children or more, to cover both Chanukah Gelt and Mishloach
Manot.

These funds are distributed to staff at YCQ, including: principals,
Rabbeim/Morot, teachers, assistant teacher, all specialty teachers such as art,
computers, dance, gym, library, music, and resource room, the nurse,
administrative, kitchen, and custodial staff and the building security guards.
There are over 150 staff members in all. A scroll with your child's name will be
included with every Chanukah gift and Mishloach Manot distributed.

An email was sent out a few weeks ago introducing the class parents
from each class. Please send the cash/check to school with your child, in an
envelope addressed to the YCQ PTO, to be handed in to the child of the class
parents of your class. Please clearly write your child's name and class on the
envelope. The class parents will keep a running list of parents who have
participated. If you will be paying for multiple kids please let the class
mothers of the other classes know so they can check your name off the list.

The deadline for participation in this collection is November 22.

Thank you for your participation,

The Officers of the YCQ Parent Teacher Organization
