Choir Performance Commemorating Yom HaZikaron
A grade four choir led by Morah Tali Spector, our music teacher, performed beautiful and meaningful Israeli
and Jewish songs for their parents and participants at Congregation Etz Chaim during their Yom HaZikaron
program. Special thanks to Rabbi Ribalt and Morah Tali for coordinating this event.

Commemorating Yom HaZikaron

Members of Bnei Akiva visited YCQ for Yom HaZikaron. In order to teach students about
the daily struggles faced in Israel and to help students create a greater connection to fallen
soldiers and terror victims, Bnei Akiva set up multiple stations giving the student a more
meaningful understanding of this special day. Students learned how important it is for us
to support our soldiers who are fighting everyday for Eretz Israel. In addition, our students
paused for a moment of silence as is done annually in Israel to honor those who died while
defending our beautiful country! The students all sang Hatikvah while looking at the flag
that represents our freedom! May we merit to see the complete yeshua and see Mashiach
speedily in our day!

Yom Ha’Atzmaut Celebrations at YCQ
This past Tuesday, YCQ celebrated Yom Ha’Atzmaut, Israel’s 69th birthday with a beautiful,
inspirational, energetic, creative Yom Ha'Atzmaut atmosphere!! The fourth graders hosted
grades K-2 with an Israel Fair. Younger students learned all about Eretz Israel and felt like they
were really there. Events were held for students throughout the day, with flag making and
other activities to celebrate our independence. The entire school listened to music, sang and
participated in Israeli dance during a concert in the yard. Through the singing, dancing and the
recitation of Hallel we certainly can say that we did everything we could in order to properly
thank Hashem for the miraculous gift of returning us to our homeland after 2000 years of
wandering! May Hashem bless us to celebrate next Yom Ha'Atzmaut in Yerushalayim
Habenuya!!

YESHIVA OF CENTRAL QUEENS
ATTENTION PARENTS OF STUDENTS THAT RECEIVE SERVICEES

THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

• Please be aware that YCQ does not receive your child’s IEP/IESP
(Individualized Educational Plan) from the DOE/CSE.

• According to the CSE, the only way that we can get a copy is
parent generated.

• We recommend asking for a second copy at the meeting.
• As soon as you receive the IEP, please make a copy and send it

to school, attention Mrs. Deborah Bermish.

Why does YCQ need a copy of the IEP?
• All therapists will be aware of your child’s goals.
• YCQ will be aware of the services your child should receive.
• Teachers will be aware of the testing accommodations for the
Terra Nova tests, as well as classroom modifications.
• All IEP’s are confidential and kept in a locked file.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this urgent matter.
