Weather & Temperature ( Updated on 16/02/2016).

What to wear and keeping yourself safe and warm
It is very important that you prepare your clothes and wear multiple layer . Iceland’s weather is
unpredictable and change time to time. You can add on and take off your layer clothes according to
weather changes.
Do prepare for the rainproof and windproof outer layers, light and warm inner layer such as wool,
fleece or thermal wear, winter gloves, waterproof shoes, sunglasses, warm socks & hat, Swim suit
for the Blue Lagoon.
Water-resistant shoes with ankle support are highly advised.

Currency ( 1000 ISK = RM 33 or 10 EURO = 1430 ISK)
The Icelandic Krona (ISK) is currency of Iceland. Symbol of the currency is “ kr ”.
In the Market for the Coins is kr1, kr5, kr10,kr50 & kr 100.
In the Market Notes is kr 500, kr 1000, kr 2000, kr 5000 & kr 10000.

Foreign Exchange
We recommend you exchange Dollars for local currency (Icelandic Króna) on arrival in Reykjavik at
the airport bank. Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) are convenient to obtain cash as and when
needed (they offer competitive exchange rates and automatic screening for counterfeit). US Dollars
or Euro are generally not accepted, but if in exceptional cases they are, change will be given in local
currency.

Your meal budget ( converted from Euro)
To help you budget: be prepared for higher prices when budgeting for non-included meals and
personal spending. Approximate costs: soft drink/mineral water/coffee Euro 3-5; sandwich/soup
Euro 8-12; lunch Euro 15-20; light dinner Euro 25. Soft drinks and mineral water are often as
expensive, or more expensive, than wine or beer. A few coins in local currency will be needed for
restroom comfort stops/public toilets.

Tipping:
Tipping is not compulsory at Iceland, most of it already included in the cost. But nonetheless
appreciated for especially good service.

Authorized Credit Card
Credit Cards: Major credit cards are widely accepted, but consider bringing more than one card, as
some locations may not accept all types. Most shops and restaurants require a minimum purchase
amount, so cards may not be appropriate for incidentals (snacks, sundries, etc.). Be prepared to
show identification (passport) when making transactions.

Before travelling be sure to:
- Activate ATM and/or credit card(s) - if possible, carry at least two working cards. - Bring your PIN
code(s) - consisting of numbers (4-digit), NOT letters (ATMs abroad have numerical key pads only) -
to facilitate use of both ATM and credit card(s). - Check with your bank to ensure you are able to
withdraw cash on your cards abroad (you may need a new PIN code).

- Advise your bank that you will be travelling abroad and plan to use your card/s (to avoid fraud,
they may refuse charges made overseas unless they know they are being made by the card owner). -
Check that cards are valid for at least 30 days beyond completion of your holiday.

- Ask your credit card companies for emergency numbers (suitable for international access - not
those starting with 1-800 or 0800) to report loss. Always keep these numbers with you while
travelling (but separate from cards).

realize what type of scenery it will be.
Jökull – Glacier
Kirkja – Church
