4 LGBTQ FOCUS FOUNDATION Dear Friends and Supporters, We are thrilled to benefit Ali Forney Center. If you don’t know about the organization, and, the services they provide, let me give you a little history. It is the nation’s largest non-profit providing food, shelter and healthcare services to LGBTQ + youths experiencing homelessness in New York City. The agency has a 24-hour Drop-In Center which provides 70,000 meals annually, medical and mental health services and a scattered-site housing program. It has six emergency housing sites with a total of 66 beds. Emergency Housing frequently has a waiting list of 200 + young people. The LGBTQ Community is under attack. Last month the city’s overnight drop-in-centers for homeless youth received this message: “Effective immediately, providers are required to discontinue the practice of allowing young adults to sleep overnight” . Alex Roque, the President and CEO, is resisting. By supporting the Ali Forney Center we will be helping to stop these attacks. They need our support now more than ever! The June 10, 2023 event will be a wonderful day and evening. Starting with dancing, Hors d’Oeuvres, and silent auction. For our VIP’s, it’s off to a cocktail hour on the Great South Bay; then to a Buffet dinner and a great show. So keep in mind your ticket price pays for this wonderful time and, the remainder, will go to this important charity. Give more if you can, we must remember that we are supporting a charity that is protecting our LGBTQ youth who have been thrown out of their homes.
